I can say that it was a life time experience for me to go for Safari. The facilities were up to the standard as advertised i.e. excellent accommodations, food, transportation. The guide were tremendous and did what we expected, sometimes they went extra mile in helping and providing help and support.

The Serengeti experience was a nice change from the Ngorongoro Crater. The vegetation and the landscapes provided a different background for the wildlife. We saw a group of elephants grazing in the savannah which was breathtaking. The vastness of the Serengeti was amazing from the Hot Air Balloon ride we took (Serengeti Balloon Safaris) and one of the highlights of our 2-week stay. We ate a traditional English breakfast underneath an iconic acacia tree which was just incredible. The people, the sites, the wildlife were amazing. It was a trip of a lifetime.

Serengeti is really the quintessential safari destination. Although it can get crowded on occasions, there's a good reason for that. Lions, leopards, elephants, Serengeti has it all!

Serengeti is an incredible safari destination. It is extremely rugged and the roads can be terribly muddy in the rainy season, but it adds to the authenticity of the experience. Here, I was lucky enough to see a mother leopard with two newborn cubs, as well as a serval and a caracal, and a crocodile. The variety of wildlife you can find here is unparalleled. I would highly recommend this to everyone who visits Tanzania.

We traveled with Thomson Safaris and stayed in their tented camps. The camp accommodations were first rate and the camp staff, food, fellow travelers, guides, etc. were amazing. They really made the trip enjoyable. We were usually out on our game drives by 8am and didn't usually return until after 5pm, so we got tons of game viewing and were able to sit still for extended periods of time to just watch the animals interact. The elephants were the best.

One reason we chose Tanzania for our safari was to see the Serengeti. It was so vast; we only saw a tiny part of it and still what we saw was immense. We were lucky in that the Wildebeest herds had moved north into the Seronera region of the park because of rains that had come just before we arrived. That was a bonus, being surrounded by hundreds of thousands of animals.

The Thomson guides were excellent. We had 13 people in our group split among 3 Rovers and all 3 guides were amazing.

Everything from the campground to the transportation was excellent. Our driver was great and the state of the park was fantastic. Saw pretty much every animal that is native to the area and walked away with some fantastic photos. Highlight was definitely the family of cheetahs.

Serengeti has wide open expanses of grasslands with rock islands and forests, where we found our only two leopards of the trip. Out on the plains there were thousands of gazelles and many warthogs, giraffes, and elephants, along with two serval cats, many lions, and two cheetahs. We were lucky enough to witness a lion hunting a buffalo, and many hippos. You must sleep at the tented camp, where there is breathtaking views, hot chocolate, and a comfortable place to sleep. At night, a massive herd of wildebeest ran past our tent, along with hyenas on the prowl. This was a very neat experience.
