Tarangire is ideal for elephant lovers. There were several ponds that allowed us to observe them closely and saw they interacted and eventally ran off other animals like zebras as they took control of the water. The rolling hills and abundant woodland of Tarangire are beautiful. If you like the shape of baobab trees, there are so many to be seen here. What we like least about Tanrangire is that there was a kind of insect that bit everything in their paths, including us. Their bites were very irritating and more painful than mosquitoes'. So, please get your strongest insect repellent ready at all times.

This was my second time in Tarangire Park. This time around it was absolutely spectacular! Because of long and heavy rainy season this year the forest and grass was thick and green. This was quite striking when compared to flat grassy plains of Serengeti. The weather was perfect for game drives: dry and not very hot. Giraffes, elephants were everywhere! We saw baby elephants crossing the river. Hundreds of gazelles, impalas. We saw few lions in the distance. Although I'm not a bird watcher, I noticed many beautiful birds. The biggest problem we encountered were tsetse flies: there were swarms of them in certain parts of the park.
Our group stayed at a nice clean tented camp close to Burunge Lake. There were about 300 zebras roaming around the lake and coming up to tents. Monkeys were walking on my porch. Rooms were pretty comfortable and food was very good. There was even a small swimming pool.
Overall it was a wonderful experience!

So many Elephants, this park but really nice it wasn’t as good as the Serengeti or crater.

This was our favourite, probably because we had excellent weather but also because we saw new things literally around every corner.
