Mount Meru, the second-highest mountain in Tanzania, rises to 4,566 meters above sea level within Arusha National Park. The mountain offers a single main route to the summit, which can typically be completed in a 3-day trek. Many climbers use Mount Meru as an acclimatization climb before attempting Mount Kilimanjaro. Unlike Kilimanjaro, all Mount Meru treks require an escort by armed rangers. Along the way, you’ll enjoy a walking safari, encountering wildlife such as African buffalo, zebras.
