Gombe Stream is a narrow strip of ancient forest along Lake Tanganyika’s shores, known for its world-famous chimpanzees studied by Jane Goodall since 1960. Visitors can trek to see chimps, hike steep ridges and valleys, visit waterfalls, and explore the lakeshore. The park’s 16 valleys hold year-round streams and rich forest habitats. Besides chimps, expect to spot red-tailed and blue monkeys in this stunning, remote setting.
