The calving season – centred on Ndutu, in the southern Serengeti – draws large predator activity as wildebeest drop their young in the open plains. The itinerary opens in Tarangire, where elephant herds and ancient baobabs set the pace, before moving through Ngorongoro and into Ndutu for the heart of the season.
