You'll start the trip at Momella Gate (1,500m), heading to Mariakamba Hut (2,514m). You'll pass through the forest with giraffes, buffalo, and colobus monkeys. Your overnight stay is at Mariakamba Hut. Then from Mariakamba Hut to Saddle Hut (3,570m), about 8 km. You'll steadily climb through montane forest and open moorland. In the afternoon, you'll hike to Little Meru (3,820m) for acclimatization. Your overnight stay will be at Saddle Hut. You'll return to Saddle Hut for lunch and rest.
