We saw all of the big five in the park and were able to get close to them all.

The majority of our trip was spent with a local birding organization from Portland, Oregon. We camped for eight nights and stayed in tents on top of our 4x4 vehicles. So we really were able to experience the Bush vibe...waking up to the sound of Francolins in the mornings and finding tracks of elephants that had passed through our camp during the night.

Being the only safari park I visited, it was extremely satisfying

Chobe National Park is a wonderful experience. A boat cruise on the Chobe River has to be one of the wildlife highlights to be had in Africa. It has become rather busy in the last few years, however doing the boat cruise in the morning hours, still means a fairly exclusive experience. The elephants are magical and the birdlife a dream...

Apart from leopards, which are notoriously difficult to spot, we saw everything we could have wished to see.

Off the beaten track, Chobe has got a lot more that you can't see in Mokolodi, including crocodies and elephants-- loads of them! It's also fantastic because it's an easy and not-too-expensive jaunt over from Vic Falls.

Our trip was organized by Grand Circle Travel Co. and included Kruger, Addo and Chobe National Parks. We liked Chobe Nat. Park because it was more open than Kruger and allowed a more unobstructed view of the animals. Grand Circle also arranged for a great trip on the river at Chobe where we saw animals like the hippos that we didn't see in Kruger. Kruger was very good, however. Any trip to So. Africa should include a trip to Kruger and Chobe Nat. Parks because they're so vast. Chobe has a lot of wildlife on, in and around the water and it shouldn't be missed.
