1-Day Gorilla Trekking/Habituation in Uganda Bwindi

Starting from Kabale, your day begins with a very early breakfast before a 5:30 AM departure. You’ll embark on a scenic 2-hour drive through the winding, terraced "Switzerland of Africa" hills toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Upon arrival at 7:30 AM, you’ll receive a safety briefing from park rangers before entering the dense forest to search for mountain gorillas. The trek typically lasts 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorillas' movement, followed by a strictly observed 1-hour for gorilla trekking encounter or 4 hours for habituation experience. After trek back to the starting point, and receive your completion certificate, Engagi Safaris guide will be waiting for you to begin the return journey back, to your preferred ending destination

This flexible itinerary can also comfortably start or end in nearby Kisoro (approx. 1.5 hours away), the tranquil shores of Lake Bunyonyi, or directly at a Bwindi hotel for those wanting to skip the early morning commute.
