Lake Bunyonyi – Mount Gahinga Hike – Return

Your day begins early with a 5:00 AM pick-up from your hotel on the mainland at Lake Bunyonyi. You’ll drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, arriving at Ntebeko Park Headquarters for a short briefing. The hike to Mount Gahinga (3,474 m) typically lasts 6–8 hours round trip. Along the trail, you’ll pass through serene bamboo forests, open montane terrain, and reach a unique crater swamp at the summit. The peak marks the shared border between Uganda and Rwanda. After enjoying views of the Virunga range, you’ll descend and transfer back to Lake Bunyonyi in the evening, concluding your adventure.
