Your point of entry to Madagascar will most likely be Ivato International Airport (TNR) in the capital city of Antananarivo (Tana). With most safari packages your tour guide will pick you up from the airport and provide transportation to your accommodations.

Mandrare River Camp at Ifotaka Community Forest is located in a remote corner of southern Madagascar. The easiest way to get here is by scheduled charter flight from Antananarivo. During the high season, from July to November, departures are guaranteed and on a per-seat basis.

A cheaper, but less reliable and less convenient, option is to book a regular flight to Taolagnaro (Fort Dauphin). Madagascar Airlines has scheduled flights to this city. A road transfer from Taolagnaro to the camp is included in the package. The bumpy drive takes at least 3 to 4 hours*.

All domestic flights (chartered or scheduled) that are part of your tour are usually arranged by your tour operator and included in the price of your tour package.

*Driving times are only a rough indication. You should always consider the possibility of significant delays.
