Kruger Park has plenty of wildlife, and it's amazing and exciting to go finding it on your own in your car if you want. I would definitely go back to Kruger Park, it has been a wonderful experience.

The Kruger National Park is a wildlife sanctuary to an amazing number of species: 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 147 mammals. We have had the privilege to seeing all the big five (Lion, Elephant, Rhinoceros, Buffalo and Leopard) in matter of 1.5 hours during many safaris in the Sabi Sands Private Reserves. We also find this area of Kruger National very handy because of its close proximity to the big cities of Johannesburg, the Sun City Resort and the beautiful city of Capetown.

From the moment we drove into Kruger National Park with WildWings Safari, we encountered wildlife. As we crossed the bridge in the entrance, there was a herd of elephants in the dry riverbed below. We turned around the first bend and came upon a herd of impala. We all oohed and aaahed and Simon, our guide, patiently paused while we took some photographs. After that, he told us it would be the last time we stopped for impala because they are such a common sight, we won't need to. Simon was right about that! Next, we came upon a leopard in a tree who was actually eating another leopard. Simon informed us he'd never seen that before, though he'd heard that it happens upon occasion when territory becomes an issue. Over the course of the next five days, we saw rhinos, lions, cape buffalo, kudu, zebra, giraffe, mongoose, hyena, hippos, crocs, monkeys and baboons. The only animals we wished we'd seen that we didn't were cheetahs and pangolin. It was spectacular to see

everything in its natural habitat, and though we certainly saw other vehicles, there was not a sense of crowds. We stayed at Kruger in Skukuza Rest Camp right in the park. Down the way, we walked to listen to the hippos every evening and enjoyed camp meals each morning and night. One of the most memorable parts of the trip was greeting the fuchsia sun each morning with the giraffes and seeing it set tangerine against the acacia trees at dusk. Because we were in Kruger in July, it was cool and dry. The animals were fairly easy to find, but of course, there probably weren't as many as the wet season. Over all, it was a spectacular trip and I'd go back in a heartbeat.

We had a fantastic five days safari, where we were fortunate to see the Big Five / Magnificent Seven plus the small five. Our guides also gave us a cultural experience by the trails throughout the park & we visited the museum at Skukuza which was very interesting & we could appreciate how the park had developed. The guides we had were extremely knowledgable, not only on the Big Five but the birds & flora, they were passionate about Kruger and made us feel most welcome. We were fortunate to stay in three different camps and had our own chef & guide through tout the time. All had very good accommodation with good amenities. We really can't wait to visit again & explore other areas of Kruger.

Huge and majestic, with a variety of landscapes and vegetation and abundant wildlife. A very popular destination, so you are seldom alone close to dams, wells or open savana. It is better where vegetation is thicker, or in the less accessible north section, but the chance of spotting animals is limited. Accomodations are for all sakes and pockets

I love this Park and the way it is managed. I have lived on 4 different continents, and experienced many scenarios in my lifetime, but I keep returning to Kruger. It puts my life into another perspective.

Kruger has everything you need for your wildlife experience. The overnight Huts are perfect to stay in for a few days and you get to see every animal you can imagine. Go in the winter months so there's less green on the trees and more room to see everything.

The trip was made pleasurable as we were ferried about by our guide Bernhard Bekker and he was very knowledgeable and showed us the big 5 in day! We saw lots of impala, elephants, birds and giraffe. The park looked well taken care of and the scenery was excellent! Our guide was kind enough to take us to the Kruger gate where we had coffee with the elephants and buffalo.

The rooms were separate from the lodge. There was a lake in front of the room with lots of hippos. They made fun noises at night. The dining was outside in a covered area next to the lake. Food was excellent and made to order at each meal. Good wine.
The excursions were exciting and we saw wildlife every trip. We saw everything we wanted up close and personal.
We even had a surprise dinner around a large campfire in the bush one night. Gave us a feel for the bush after dark. I would recommend the lodge and park to anyone wanting to go on safari.

Kruger National Park in South Africa is one of he best places in the world to escape the winter cold.
Many internationals and locals tourist flocks to this beautiful protected wildlife wilderness.
Birding in winter is not the best as many species left to the warmer parts of Africa and even Europe area's but their is still some stunning species flying around mostly residents like the Bateleur and Martial eagles.
This is also a very good time to observe crocodiles and hippos doing sunbathing as the water temperature is cool and reptiles are cold blooded so they seek the son.
The shrubs and trees loses their leaves and the bush becomes more open to see animals from a distance especially Leopards are very active next to rivers and waterholes as animals concentrates during the heat of the day. Lions also uses this opportunity to wait for unexpected pray animals like Zebra and Giraffe to drink so that they can launch a surprise attack. Read more

The landscape turn a light brown colour and sunrises and sunsets are unmatched with the dust and smoke from veld fires covering the horizons. The stars are also amazing at night although you will need a jacket and blanket on game drives early morning and late afternoons it worth the effort.
The Kruger is a special place during the year but the winter sun changes this landscape into a amazing place defiantly worth a visit for a couple of days.
All major restaurants in the park has been upgraded and the Skukuza Airport just re-open so fly in safaris is possible.
