Limpopo National Park offers an excellent variety of birds due to its habitat diversity. Although records are patchy, it is likely that most or all of the 500-odd bird species listed for the neighboring Kruger National Park might be seen here. Around 10% of these species are migrants. Raptors and woodland birds are all particularly well represented.

Best Time for Bird Watching
While the birdlife in Limpopo NP is good year-round, November to April (the Wet season) is the best time for bird watching. This is when migratory birds are in the park and many species are in breeding plumage. The best time for general wildlife viewing is from July to October, during the middle and end of the Dry season.
