O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB), near Johannesburg, is the initial destination for most people arriving from abroad. From here, Federal Airlines flies twice daily to MalaMala Game Reserve.

Alternatively, you can take a connecting flight from O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (MQP), located 120km/75mi southeast of MalaMala. From here, a transfer to the reserve takes about 2 hours*.

It is also possible to take a connecting flight from O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) to Skukuza Airport (SZK) in Kruger National Park. MalaMala offers a 1-hour road transfer from the airstrip to the lodge.

Renting a car in Johannesburg is also an option. The distance from O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) is about 450km/280mi, and the drive takes around 5½ hours*.
