A good pace to see animals and birds around the water features. Flamingos were a highlight, as well as hippos.

The drive to Lake Manyara took us through some scenic villages and there were 2 areas with lots of interesting waterfowl, but the flamingos were too far away to be seen. The Manyara Serena Safari Lodge is very beautiful, has good food and the pool well located for watching the sunset; but lots of smokers make that area off limits to nonsmokers. The entertainment also happens in the smokey area. We also went to Lake Eyasi and stayed at the Kisima Ngeda Camp. The staff was very engaging and the grounds were good for bird photography, but our bed had little bugs in it and right before we went to bed they spayed with insecticide which made breathing difficult. The food was adequate, but there was no selection.
While there we vivisted with the Datoga tribe with a knowledgable and friendly local guide. The tribe members were very welcoming. That was worth a visit!

Great Scenic beauty, but not as good as other parks for wildlife. Also, a lot of people day tripping. Doesn't have the bush vibe of the other parks.

Lake Manyara is a great place to start with safaris. The park is small enough so that most of it can be seen in a day or two, and the wildlife is plentiful. There is amazing birding available here as well.

Relatively small but beautiful park that is packed with wildlife. If you're lucky, you may see the famous tree lions of Lake Manyara! Be sure to spend the night in a wild camp, for a true bush experience.

Lake Manyara has a more jungle vibe to it, being more treey. To see the tree lions is the prime reason to visit it.

The park was quite nice, but after beeing in the Serengeti and Tarangire NP it had no "wow effect" on us. We still enjoyed a visit, but be aware that you won't necessarily see a lion even if the park claims to be the place where you can find lions on trees (which we saw before at Serengeti).

Dry season is not the best time for this park
