Unforgettable Southern Africa Adventure – Seamlessly Planned by Pembury Tours!
We recently returned from an extraordinary trip through Southern Africa, taking in Chobe National Park, the Sabi Sands, and Victoria Falls—and it exceeded every expectation!
The itinerary was perfectly balanced between awe-inspiring natural wonders and world-class game viewing. From up-close wildlife encounters in the Sabi Sands to the incredible elephant herds in Chobe and the sheer majesty of Victoria Falls, every destination offered something unique and unforgettable.
Our accommodations throughout the journey were superb. We stayed in a wonderful mix of cozy guest houses, high-quality hotels, and an absolute standout luxury lodge in the Sabi Sands. Despite traveling across multiple borders, every single transfer with our drivers was completely seamless, stress-free, and punctual.
A huge thank you to Kerry at Pembury Tours, who put together this fabulous itinerary. Kerry was a absolute joy to work with—collaborative, attentive, and completely unfazed by any request or question. Her expertise and dedication made planning effortless and ensured our trip went off without a hitch.

Heidi was fabulous!
We loved the trip to South Africa that Heidi arranged for us. It was a fabulous experience from beginning to end, and we are so grateful for all the thought, care, and patience she put into planning it. Every detail felt well considered, and the whole trip had such a smooth and easy flow.
She did a wonderful job choosing the hotels, guest houses, transportation, tours, and activities. We always felt well taken care of, but never rushed or over-scheduled. The itinerary gave us a great mix of sightseeing, relaxing, learning, and simply enjoying the beauty of South Africa.
Our private tours of Cape Town with Ivan were a real highlight. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and such a pleasure to spend time with. We loved seeing Cape Town through his eyes, and the Cape Peninsula was absolutely stunning. The views from the top of Table Mountain were unforgettable and gave us one of those “we can’t believe we are really here” moments.
Franschhoek was another favorite stop. The town was charming, the winery visits were fun, and we even took a cooking class at Spilsbury’s Kitchen. We really enjoyed the slower pace there and the chance to take in the food, wine, and scenery. While in Franschhoek we stayed at the Avondrood Guest House, one of our favorites, and our host, Karloff, made us feel so welcome. It had just the right combination of comfort, charm, and personal attention, and it felt like a perfect fit for that part of the trip.
Our stay at Arathusa Safari Lodge in Sabi Sand was incredible. The safari experience was even more amazing than we had imagined, and seeing the Big Five after only two game drives was something we will never forget.
The drive from Knysna back to Cape Town along the Garden Route was also a beautiful way to see more of the countryside. We appreciated being able to take in the changing landscapes and get a better sense of the natural beauty of South Africa beyond the major cities and safari areas.
Most of all, we appreciated how responsive and patient Heidi was throughout the entire process. She listened to what we wanted, answered our questions, adjusted details when needed, and made the whole experience feel personal and easy.
Thank you again for helping us create such a memorable adventure. We loved every minute of the trip and would happily recommend Heidi and Pembury Tours to anyone planning a special trip to South Africa.
Great Organization - Would Use Again
Our trip to South Africa in May was absolutely wonderful, and so much of that came down to the guidance and care we received from Kerry Ririe at Pembury Tours. Every detail felt thought through, and we always felt looked after, from the planning stages right through the trip itself.
One moment that really stood out: one of our lodgings left a tipping guide that seemed unusually high. We reached out to Kerry for a second opinion and got clear, honest guidance that helped us tip appropriately — not too much, not too little. That kind of responsiveness made a real difference.
Every stop on our itinerary was terrific, from Cape Town all the way to Sabi Sands. The only minor hiccup was the food at the first lodge we stayed at after the river cruise — dinner leaned a bit too hard into "exotic" options and felt overdone. Breakfast, on the other hand, was delicious, so it balanced out nicely.
Overall, this was a beautifully organized trip with genuine care behind every recommendation. I'd recommend Kerry and Pembury Tours without hesitation to anyone planning a trip to South Africa!
Consistently Exceptional Service and Communication
This is the second time I used Pembury for travel to Southern Africa, and once gain I was delighted. Kerry Ririe was our consultant and she is a delight to work with. This was a milestone birthday trip with me and several extended family members, and every one of us were thrilled with all aspects: lodging, transport, tours… all went without a hitch.
I like that Pembury is based in South Africa, so it’s clear they know the camps/hotels and are giving true on-the-ground intelligence.
Our trip was Cape Town-Timbavati-Sabi Sands-Victoria Falls. A fabulous itinerary!

Amazing South Africa Experience!
It’s our first visit to Safari & South Africa, we were filled with anxieties about safety and reliability of the online tour operator. These worries were quickly dispelled by Melanie, our tour advisor, who was prompt to answer every query and concern, giving us all the assurance we needed.
Our group of 4 from Singapore had a fantastic 13D12N holiday covering Kruger National Park, Victoria Fall and Capetown. We were very lucky to spot the Big Five animals in the first game drive, it’s so amazing to be just next to the wildlife and see them in their natural habitat.
All the hotel, restaurant and tour recommendations were excellent, we experienced the true African hospitality.
Special thanks to Melanie!!! Without her superb coordination to every detail, our trip would not be so enjoyable. We will not hesitate to recommend Pembury & Melanie to our friends.
