Spirit of Kenya - Captured in All Its Glory
On behalf of Andrew and myself, I just want to say a huge 'thank you' to Spirit of Kenya and especially to Vanessa through whom I arranged the trip and our wonderful guide Thomas.
Throughout the booking process Vanessa's prompt and detailed responses to my questions gave me the confidence to book our safari through Spirit of Kenya and I am so glad I did.
We were looked after so well it exceeded my experience on any other safari. From the point at which we were met at the airport and transferred to the waiting car with Spirit of Kenya staff with us 100% of the time to being transferred back to the airport and taken up to the departure lounge.
The safari itself was wonderful and Thomas looked after us superbly. He is an excellent driver, kind, fun, and very knowledgeable. We felt completely safe travelling through Kenya with Thomas and in the parks he did his utmost to show Kenya to us in all its glory. Cheetah, leopard, lion (so many lion), elephants in good numbers in both the Mara but particularly Samburu, white rhino (Nakuru), the birth of a thompsons gazelle, hippo, crocodile, gerenuk, oryx ...
We both felt so safe with Thomas, he provided us with the reassurance we needed, his stature no doubt helps but he is so good with people, whilst we did not have any issues during the trip we felt confident that whatever arose that Thomas would be able to deal with it.
The accommodation throughout the trip was 'top notch' and the staff at each so welcoming and the food was wonderful.
Needless to say I am already thinking about returning. It will be much easier to plan next time as I know who I'll be booking with 'Spirit of Kenya'.

Trip of a lifetime
My boyfriend and I had the most amazing experience with spirit of Kenya. From months of planning with Filipa via email, he went the extra mile to ensure all our questions were answered and the trip planned perfectly. We did the Nairobi city tour, 4 day safari in Maasai Mara and 2 days relaxing on the beach in Mombasa. We are cat lovers and our tour guide George found every single one, even hunting down a rhino which is rare to find on the Mara. I would suggest including a visit to either lake Nakuru or Nairobi national park if you want to guarantee seeing rhino as that took a bit of hunting, but it was such a fun part of the adventure. relaxing at Neptune beach resort in Mombasa was a perfect reset after long days at the safari. Everyone in Kenya was so friendly, make sure you include the visit to a masaai village and giraffe centre in Nairobi as those were definite highlights!!

Knowledgeable and Friendly
We were a group of 5 family and friends and decided on this 4 days Masai Mara safari! It was absolutely amazing and worth it. We saw the big five, we saw lionesses hunting a buffalo as well as a Cheetah hunting a baby Gazelle! The accommodations were nice and cozy and of course Ken our guide was the absolute best!

Everything was perfect
great experience from the operator Gerardo and our tour guide Ken.
Gerardo was quick to answer my emails and offered assistance throughout. Ken was knowledgeable and understood our pace - he knew when to talk and when to chill (which when you're together for days is a very important skill to have!). Plus he knew we believe everyone in Kenya and was keen to help others in the road. again, if we are to be with someone we don't know for 4 days in a road we'd rather rit be with a good kind person.

The accommodations were what we expected and pay for. The meals were good, plenty and tasty.
Everything flowed without problem and we saw a lot of wildlife - all big five multiple times and other animals too. We had a blast!

What an amazing experience we all had, from the initial enquiry and correspondence from the office staff to the advice about places to stay in different budgets and the parks themselves, just faultless.
What absolutely stands out though is the guide Bonface. He was just superb and made the experience so wonderful. He was outstanding at animal spotting and giving us information about what we were seeing, he was an excellent driver and navigator allowing us to relax and enjoy the adventure knowing we were in safe hands. Above all though he was also an amazing people reader and we had just the right amount of time with each animal and bird. We were never left wishing for more. All four of us cannot praise him highly enough for facilitating the perfect safari.
We would not hesitate to recommend your company and choice of guide staff to anyone and are already telling people how superb you are.
Thank you Spirit of Kenya for the trip of a lifetime, although, I do hope that we get to return.

Amazing safari experience with spirit of kenya -thank you Thomas!
I recently went on a 3-day safari to the Maasai Mara with this company, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. From start to finish, everything was incredibly well-organized and professionally handled. The team made sure we were well-prepared and comfortable throughout the entire experience.
A very special thank you goes to our guide, Thomas. He truly made this trip unforgettable. His deep knowledge of the Maasai Mara was astounding – he knew the park like the back of his hand. We always felt we were in the right place at the right time, and we were able to see so much wildlife thanks to his experience and sharp eye.
Beyond just the animals, Thomas shared so much insight into the behavior and habits of each species, as well as the culture of the local communities. He was warm, friendly, and completely authentic.
Also, worth noting: Thomas is an excellent driver. Whether on rough terrain or during long drives, we always felt safe and comfortable.

We think this is the best 11 day holiday we have ever experienced, and we have travelled extensively. Booking the holiday was so easy, with the help of the team at Spirit of Kenya, who were efficient and always on hand, prividing lots of options to tailor the trip to our specific requirements. The Safari was outstanding; our guide was amazing, skilled and attentive. He continually checked he was meeting our needs and that we were comfortable. We saw 'the big 5 ' and more due to Michael's expertise in managing the game drives. The hotels recommended and booked by Spirit of Kenya were all excellent as were the extra activities we chose to add on to make the trip even more special. All rounded off by a lovely few days by the beach in Diani.

Our safari with Spirit of Kenya was absolutely unforgettable. From the start, Francisco and online team did a wonderful job organizing the trip, keeping me informed, and answering every question in a timely and professional manner. From airport pickup to departure drop, everything worked like clockwork. On the ground, our guides Dickson and Nicholas were outstanding—always punctual, endlessly patient, and filled with knowledge. Professional and excellent!
We had a trip of a lifetime travelling with Spirit of Kenya in July. We picked the Off the Beaten Path itinerary. Victor helped with our planning and he was very responsive and clear throughout, including with accommodation options, pricing and in response to our questions. Our guide, Dominic, was wonderful too. He was experienced and knowledgeable, attentive to our needs and was a skilful and safe driver. Everything was smooth from start to finish. We saw lots of animals over the six-day trip. Excellent tour operator that will tailor your trip according to your desires
We spent 2 days in the Masai Mara and 1 1/2 days at Lake Nakuru. You will be able to capture the African Big five here. The tour was incredible and we saw an abundance of wildlife. Unfortunately, the wildebeest were not traversing the Mara River while we were there, but it is a hit or miss event. Our guide made sure we viewed plenty of wildlife. Spirit of Kenya tailored the tour to our personal level of comfort and the accommodations were spot on. I, personally, am a photographer and highly recommend renting the open sided land cruiser. The correspondence with S of K was excellent and thorough. Reserve your safari as far in advance as possible (A year ahead or even further), especially if you are going during the peak season.
