A well-organized safari at a reasonable price
We booked budget 6 days safari in Masai Mara, Nakuru, Amboseli Parks. Everything was great - friendly and helpful people from the tour operator, delicious meals, perfect accommodation and really good price for everything. We saw so many animals - unforgettable experience.

Excellent, great communication, provide good operator, camps and guide
Lydia has been so helpful with everything, the Communications are great. I was really lucky in amboseli to have view almost everything. Kilimanjaro with giraffe in front of our camp, lioness and cubs, even hunting cheetahs. Thanks to the guide, Anthony I had a great pictures of kili and lions and elephants in one frame just as I wanted. Eventhough there was a little misscommunication about dropping off Arusha, and some glitch with the shuttle, but doesn't really matter. They make sure I got through the border fine. They even offer an upgrade, and give me a heads up about the camping, and I was really satisfied with the mid range camp and lodge, didnt have to do the basic camping. Serengeti and ngorongoro crater was great. The guide Isaac in Tanzania was marvelous, even Saw the rhino. And the Tanzanian team make sure that my shuttle is not like the ones before, even got lucky to be dropped off at the hotel in nairobi.

Very close and easy to reach, immediate responses
Communication very close, Lydi was always taking care of us, asking how it was going. What you book is just what you obtain, no surprises. Value for money is a 10. The tour was perfect, we got to see all the animals in the different parks, the big 5 completed!!

Hard worker
I went on a safari tour with the Maasai tribe. During the Maasai village tour, they demanded souvenirs, as they rely on tourism to make a living. It was a bit disconcerting at first. On the other hand, it was heartbreaking to see how they had to make a living. Still, it was fascinating to experience the Maasai tribe's lifestyle and traditional culture.
The safari was a treat. Our guide, Bryan, did his best to show us the animals. He constantly communicated with us via walkie-talkie, ensuring we had the best memories :)

There’s an intimacy to the space and an unforced warmth to the people—nothing flashy, nothing performative, just genuine hospitality.
What truly set Zanzi apart was the team itself. Their agents were not only courteous and professional, but remarkably friendly—much more than we expected. You get the feeling they actually enjoy meeting travelers, not just booking trips for them. Their enthusiasm for the Safari experience was infectious; they spoke about the Mara with the kind of passion that only comes from people who have experienced it themselves, and still haven’t lost the wonder.
Another thing we appreciated: they were wonderfully mindful about cost. Instead of pushing fixed or expensive packages, they took actual time to listen to our priorities and designed an itinerary that fit our budget without compromising the richness of the adventure. It never felt like savings meant sacrifice.
Throughout the journey, every logistical detail—from pickup to park entry to accommodation—ran smoothly. The guide they arranged was knowledgeable, patient, and deeply respectful of both wildlife and local communities. Even small gestures—regular check-ins, quick WhatsApp responses, offering tips for better sightings—made the whole experience feel personalized.
Zanzi African Safaris may be a young company, but they’re already operating with the heart, integrity, and professionalism of an outfit that deserves to become a big name. We’d recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone dreaming of the Masai Mara.

collaborative, helpful and good price
Zanzi African Safaris were always ready to help us. They answered almost immediately when in need of assistance. They are communicating through WhatsApp, which made the process very easy.
We had three different guides during our safari, which to us wasn’t a problem, they were all good guides and everything was well planned so the changeovers didn’t cause any delays. If you want the consistency of have one guide you should announce that when planning your safari.

Company was super reliable and were always in reach via WhatsApp. Value of money is fantastic, we reached out to several agencies and this was by far the cheapest one, but everything was extremly good organized and we didnt face any issues.

Dishonest
We had several problems with this company. I don’t recommend it to anyone for Safari in Kenya. They don’t deliver what they promise even if it is written in the contract. We were supposed to have 2 days Safari in Nakuru and they said they cannot do the second one. They didn’t reimburse us for the second day either. The exact same thing happened to other people travelling with us in the first day, but in their case was in Masai Mara.
Besides this big problem, they don’t have own drivers so they hire 3rd parties, so you can get any kind of driver, they have no control of driver quality. The drivers don’t even know about their company either (I asked all of them).
One of our drivers,for example, had problem in the starting system of his car, we needed to get out of the vehicle and help him to push the car. This can be very dangerous since there are many wild animals in the park.
Their plans and starting/finishing Safari turn are changing very often. You may start at 9 and finish at 16, which it is quite short comparing to what other companies offer. I would rather choose a bigger and more reliable company.
There are several scammers there around.

1. Regarding the Nakuru Safari
Day:
Our safari itineraries are customized according to the accommodation type selected. For travelers to have two game drives in Lake Nakuru National Park, they must stay inside the park, which applies mainly to mid-range or luxury lodges.
Your safari was booked under the budget category, with accommodation located outside the park. The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) park tickets are valid for 24 hours, which benefits guests staying inside the park. Since the entry tickets were already purchased and used, refunds could not be processed.
2. Use of Professional Driver-Guides and Vehicles:
We use professional driver-guides licensed by the Tourism Regulatory Authority (TRA) in Kenya. As a tour operator handling budget safaris, we — like other licensed companies — pool and merge clients from different operators for group safaris to minimize operational costs.
On your departure day, you witnessed other travelers who had booked private safaris, and our team explained the difference in service. In group safaris, multiple operators may share vehicles, meaning slight variations in itineraries are normal. However, our packages remain among the most practical, affordable, and transparent in the industry.
3. Vehicle and Safety:
We take safety extremely seriously. All our safari jeeps are regularly maintained and inspected before each trip. The incident described with the vehicle is very unfortunate and certainly not reflective of our usual standards — we have already addressed this directly with the operator involved.
4. Game Drive Duration:
Safari timings may vary depending on park regulations, weather, or wildlife movement. Nonetheless, we ensure our clients enjoy full-value experiences, including multiple game drives as outlined in their confirmed itinerary.

Very responsive and accommodating to last minute safari booking.
I booked very last minute, and Zanzi’s communication was great. They answered all my questions. I was a solo traveler so keen to join a group safari. The driver was great, the accommodation (budget option) was good, and I opted for one day in the park which was truly unforgettable.
