An unforgettable journey, made even more special by the people who made it happen.
We had a wonderful safari experience overall. Leonard was amazing to work with from the very beginning. I contacted several safari companies before booking, and he was always the fastest to respond, but more importantly, he genuinely cared about my questions and concerns. Communication was smooth throughout the entire trip.
Our guide Moody was also fantastic. He has 10 years of experience, and it really showed. We waited almost 2–3 hours for the wildebeest crossing and were starting to think it might not happen. When Moody suddenly drove off, we thought he was giving up too — but instead, he rushed us to exactly the right spot, and the wildebeest started crossing! We asked how he knew, and he simply said, “Instinct.” That moment really showed us how valuable an experienced guide is.
The accommodations and service were very good overall. A few things could be improved, especially the vehicle A/C, Wi-Fi, and the cooler, but these were minor compared with the overall experience. We had an unforgettable safari!

Professional and helpful
We had a fantastic experience in Tanzania! We didn't think we could see so many animals and above all to be able to spot them so closely.
The organization was excellent, both during the safari and for the management of the hotels. We thank Almachius who also organized the overnight stay for the first night and, despite a problem with the hotel last night, he immediately took action to solve the situation, also giving us an upgrade to a better structure.
Special thanks to our guide Jonas, very prepared, experienced and always available. He was able to accompany us throughout the safari with great professionalism, meeting our every need.
Thanks also to our chef Dulla, really good! He prepared delicious meals for us every day, paying attention to our tastes, what we liked and our needs. It was a beautiful experience, which we definitely recommend to those who want to experience a real safari in Tanzania. Thank you Jonas and Dulla for helping to make this trip so special! 🇹🇿❤️

Perfectly Organized
We had an absolutely amazing safari experience from start to finish! Everything was perfectly organized, and we felt very well looked after throughout the entire trip.
A special shout-out to Johann, our fantastic cook, who prepared delicious meals every day. The food was genuinely one of the highlights of the safari!
And a huge thank you to Daniel, our guide, who was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. He made the safari so much more special with his expertise and passion, and we learned so much from him.
Leonard, our organizer, also did a great job coordinating everything and making sure everything ran smoothly.
Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better team or a better safari experience. Highly recommended! 🐘🦁🌿

Amazing experience!
An absolutely unforgettable safari experience in Tanzania!
We visited the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, and Tarangire, and everything was perfectly organized from start to finish.
Our guide Jacob was fantastic — very experienced, knowledgeable, and passionate about wildlife. His knowledge of the parks and the animals made the experience even more special, and we had some incredible wildlife encounters that we will never forget.
The organization, communication, transportation, and choice of accommodation were all excellent. Everything ran smoothly, and we felt safe and well taken care of throughout the entire trip.
A huge thank you to the entire team for their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for an unforgettable safari experience in Tanzania!

Meru Slopes provides an unforgettable safari experience
Meru Slopes made our safari experience unforgettable. It was easy to communicate with Gift Tembo to plan out our trip and he was immensely helpful. We opted for a 5-day 4 night mid-tier option and honestly feel like we had the luxury experience. The lodging options were a dream and served as clean, comfy, and gorgeous places to rest after a long safari day. Our guide, Bryson, was fabulous, pointing out all sorts of animals and answering our constant questions about things we were seeing. He knew all the spots and would take us on detours if he heard of an exciting spotting nearby. We saw over 30 different species of animals on our trip, including the Big 5, giraffes, a cheetah with cubs and even a lion chase. If you’re looking for a tour company I definitely recommend.

A 5 star tour with Bryson, a 5 star guide
We had a great experience with Meru Slopes! Our coordinator, Gift, did an excellent job making sure we were prepared for the experience and arranging accommodations. Our experience started with a day tour around Arusha with Victor. He picked us up at our hotel and drove us to an art gallery, a glass recycling center that made beautiful crafts from recycled beads, and then arranged a tour of the central market where we were able to purchase spices. He brought us to a restaurant for lunch and then dropped us off at the first hotel Meru arranged.
The next day, Bryson, our safari guide picked us up to begin our safari. Bryson was truly the best. He was friendly, very knowledgeable about the park, and worked hard to make sure we saw the Big 5 and had a great experience all around. I give him the highest possible recommendation and could not imagine a better guide. Meru provided tasty lunches every day and made sure we had plenty of water (and beer) during our trip. The lodges we stayed at were excellent, and Meru even upgraded our stay in the Serengeti to one of their luxury tented lodges. Everything was incredible and I would definitely recommend anyone visiting the Serengeti book their tour with Meru Slopes.

Over the top
Our Safari with meru slopes was From beginning to the end super good. Leonard makwavi planned the Tour very quick to our personal requests. Our competent Guide Douglas did an amazing Job. He is a very good driver and found the best Spots so that we could watch the animals very close. We saw more different animals than we could imagine, even three leopards and the crossing of the wildbeasts at Mara River. Douglas gave us very interesting Information about Wildlife and life in africa. He made our Trip very special. Thank you so much

Almost great, Shadrack and Abraham as a guarantee for the success
We used a comparison website to book a safari that included Tarangire, the Serengeti (including the Great Migration), the Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara. This led us to Meru Slopes. We communicated with Shadrack via WhatsApp. He made a very good and professional impression, which is why we booked the 6-day safari with him for $1,250 per person. A 15% deposit was required. We also really liked the option to stay at the Arusha Tourist Inn—arranged directly by the agency—both the night before and after the safari. A shuttle for pickup and drop-off was also included, but we didn’t use it. Upon arrival, there was a briefing in the evening, and after we returned, there was a debriefing to discuss the positive and negative aspects. We really enjoyed all of that. Shadrack did an absolutely outstanding job.
There were three of us, and we were crammed into a truly dilapidated Jeep along with three other tourists. Even before we set off, the four tires on the vehicle (as well as the two spare tires) had so little tread left that it was no surprise we had to stop a total of six times to change tires. The speedometer, fuel gauge, and odometer were also broken. The windshield had several cracks and chips, the armrests couldn’t be adjusted, and most of the windows either wouldn’t open or wouldn’t close properly. However, we also lost over an hour because the office failed to send the paperwork to the Lake Manyara National Park rangers in time. So we stood there while everyone else was able to pass through without any problems.
The cook on the safari usually prepared very delicious meals, but he never stuck to the agreed-upon times. That cost us time (sometimes more, sometimes less) and added up to well over eight hours. He also never once made arrangements for our guide to eat with us, which is why we had to go get extra cutlery and dishes every time. Most of the dishes were cold, and despite being told that there was a vegetarian in our group, he didn’t accommodate her needs. Overall, though, it was great that we were served meals prepared for the whole group each time, whereas many other tour operators only provided pre-packaged lunch boxes.
Our guide was Abraham. He was always very calm and level-headed, had detailed answers to most questions, explained things thoroughly on his own initiative, and drove the vehicle well at all times. He handled the constant tire changes quickly and did an excellent job in every other respect as well. He was the reason the safari as a whole turned out to be such a successful experience.
The Arusha Tourist Inn hostel is also definitely worth recommending. The staff were always very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-equipped. The only downside is that the walls can be a bit thin. Hot shower water takes a few minutes to come on.
Conclusion: Overall, we really enjoyed our experience with Meru Slopes. The key factors in its success were, above all, Shadrack as the organizer and Abraham as the guide. With a different vehicle and a different cook, the sometimes extremely negative aspects of our experience could be immediately addressed, making Meru Slopes a top choice for safaris.

An exceptional experience from beginning to end!!
We first spoke with Almachius to organize our safari, and he was extremely attentive from the very beginning. He really understood what we were looking for and created an itinerary that perfectly matched our expectations. The lodges he selected were all very well chosen, with beautiful settings and some truly unforgettable moments, including enjoying a drink at sunset while watching buffalo just a few meters away!
But what truly made this safari so special was our guide, Barikhi. He is an exceptional person: warm, kind, passionate and incredibly attentive, while always knowing when to give us space and simply let us enjoy the moment. Over the course of the safari, he shared so much of his knowledge with us, but above all, he passed on his genuine love and respect for wildlife and nature.
What we particularly loved was his approach to safari. Rather than chasing animals or trying to get as close as possible at all costs, his philosophy was to observe, be patient and appreciate whatever nature chose to show us. He taught us to take our time, understand animal behavior and really observe what was happening around us. Watching a lioness hunt from a distance, understanding her movements and trying to anticipate what she might do next can be just as extraordinary as seeing her from only a few meters away.
Beyond his knowledge and professionalism, we will especially remember the moments we shared with him, his kindness and his passion. After spending several days together, we were genuinely sad to say goodbye at the end of the safari!
A huge thank you to Almachius and Meru Slopes for organizing such a wonderful trip, and especially to Barikhi for making this experience so memorable. If we were to go on safari again tomorrow, we would choose to go with Meru Slopes without hesitation!
