Excellent value for money and everything was organised perfectly by Leonard
Every single thing about our safari was perfectly organised by Leonard.
The safari was amazing, our driver Nickson was so knowledgable about all the animals and Bongey our cook produced excellent food and even made special dishes for my vegetarian wife.
The amount of animals we saw surpassed my expectations and that was all down to Nickson our guide. He got us to places to take the perfect photo.
All in all I would definitely recommend Meru Slopes for a safari!

Extremely accommodating, made our experience incredible.
I would highly recommend Meru Slop Tours & Safaris for your Safari tour! Everything from housing to food was well planned out, even when we had time constraints with flights. There was not a single hiccup throughout the entire trip.
I also highly recommend our tour guide John. He was knowledgable and experienced, and we were able to see and understand animals that we wouldn't have captured otherwise without him. He was sweet and patient when it came to our questions as well. He made our experience a lot more personal.
Overall, it was an incredible choice.

Simply Extraordinary
We spent seven incredible days touring four national parks in Tanzania's north - Tarangire, the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara with Meru Slopes Tours and Safaris. There were early starts and some very big days, it was often hot and dusty, and the roads were rough, but we relished every single minute of our safari and cannot recommend it highly enough. If I could have given our experience six stars out of five, I would.
We’ve all watched African wildlife documentaries on TV and 'seen' the animals. But it is hard to describe the emotional punch of actually being there. Of seeing, hearing, and experiencing wild Tanzania. Of coming round a bend in the road and finding a herd of elephants foraging beside you, and to hear how quietly these huge animals move through dense bush. To witness a massive giraffe sway gracefully across the road, step behind a tall acacia and literally disappear. To see vast areas of a lake turned cherry-blossom pink by huge flocks of flamingo. To watch a hyena feeding on a limb stolen from a recent lion kill and to actually hear the crunching of bones as she wolfs down her meal. To gaze at critically endangered Black Rhinos living wild. Or to experience the drama and intense emotion of the Great Migration as a thousand wildebeest pour across the Mara River - accompanied by panicked braying, stampeding of hooves, splashing, and palls of dust - while you sit urging them on. All extraordinary and incredibly moving experiences, and so much 'bigger' than what you see on TV.
It's also hard to describe the scale of things. The immenseness of the magnificent, 'endless' Serengeti; the massive power of a big male lion and the speed with which he can move; the towering height of an adult giraffe; and the sheer number of zebra and wildebeest, circling the Serengeti and Maasai-Mara on their never-ending journey to follow the rains and fresh grass. It is truly astonishing.
Our seven-day safari gave us the time needed to travel through different environments and to have the opportunity to see so many different birds and animals (including some less expected species such as ostriches, a jackal, a (fabulous) Leopard Tortoise, Crowned Cranes, and a group of mongoose). Meru Slopes provided a wonderful service, and we felt very well looked after from start to finish. We traveled in a 'private' (just the two of us and our guide) purpose-built 4WD, and stayed in ‘tented’ safari camps located within the parks (and an occasional town-based lodge). We particularly loved the safari camps. The staff were amazing; the food delicious; and our 'rooms' were immaculate, beautifully presented, and very comfortable with everything we could possibly need. Lunch was usually provided by the previous night's accomodation and was eaten in picnic areas within the parks along with drinks from the well-stocked fridge in our 4WD - fabulous! Thanks to Jerome from Meru Slopes for organising our safari so well and for taking the time to brief us and also meet with us after our tour: we really appreciated it.
Last but definitely not least: - We felt so lucky to see all we did, but realise we were even luckier to have been under the care of our wonderful guide, Ombeni, who made it all possible. His knowledge, skill, and expertise were beyond exceptional, and he worked tirelessly - day in and day out - to make our time in Tanzania simply extraordinary. Asante sana, Ombeni - it was a joy to see the animals with you and we're so grateful for everything you did for us.

Great Experience with Meru Slopes
In August we went on a seven-day Safari with the company Meru Slopes. We first went to Tarangire National Park, before driving to the Serengeti National Park. The last stop was the Ngorongoro Crater, before we got back to Arusha.
All in all, there is to say that it was an unforgettable experience! We got to see all the animals we wanted to and more! Our guide Francis led us safely through the rough paths of the national parks and made sure our experience was perfect. When we didn’t get to see the Mara River Crossing on the day we were supposed to, he went out of his way to ensure we tried again the next day and we actually got to see the river crossing! He did a great job and we can definitely recommend going on a Safari with him.
The lodges were also mostly flawless and the service was impeccable. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming and made sure we felt comfortable at all times.
We also had a contact person in Arusha, Leonard, who organized everything we needed besides the Safari, like transport from and to the airport and when we contacted him via Whatsapp we always got an answer almost instantaneously.
The whole Safari trip was meticulously planned and safely executed by Meru Slopes. We can definitely recommend choosing this company for a Safari in Tanzania, if you want a great experience!

Communicating was excellent, responded within very short time
Safari package we customized for 8 nights. All hotels and tents were good except one or two. Our driver Gidion was a very knowledgeable and respectful man. He showed us all kinds of animals and described with details. Only issue we had with our vehicle, air conditioning was not working, otherwise everything was perfect.

Excellent experience
We booked a budget-friendly, 7-day/6-night group safari with Meru, covering Arusha, Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Tarangire National Park, Materuni Waterfall/coffee plantation, and Kikuletwa (Chamka) Hot Springs.
Our interactions with safari specialist Leonard Mkwavi were excellent; he was always quick to respond to my requests for clarification, changes, and additions via WhatsApp following the initial quote received via email. It was a pleasure meeting him in Arusha on our arrival day for the initial briefing (and to set up our data SIM cards for the trip) and saying goodbye on the last day to share our impressions of the safari and organize the final activities.
Payments to Meru—both the deposit and the final balance—were made seamlessly via international bank transfer (avoiding credit card surcharges and the risk of carrying large amounts of cash for the final payment).
Our driver-guide, Godlisten William, was also incredibly attentive and eager to meet our needs; thanks to his years of experience, he proved to be deeply knowledgeable about the environment we were exploring. His driving was excellent—cautious and careful—and he did a great job managing the logistics at the campsites and coordinating the support staff (cook and camp assistant) regarding both the tents and meals. We also want to give huge praise to the cook for delighting us with local specialties at both lunch and dinner—dishes that were delicious, flavorful, and, importantly, healthy! Thank you, Godlisten, for looking after us during our two nights in the Serengeti! All in all, it was an unforgettable experience: in my opinion, camping is the best way to fully embrace the spirit of an African safari, and with Meru, I found an organization that made it possible to realize exactly what I was looking for in the best possible way.
The vehicle used was well-suited to the activity; even when a minor technical issue arose (a dead battery—it happens), Godlisten was quick to resolve the problem without disrupting the itinerary. The seating was comfortable: six seats in total, arranged in three rows with a central aisle. The last two seats were just a bit tight.
Overall, it was an excellent experience with Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris; I would recommend that any independent travelers planning a trip to Tanzania (without going through Italian tour operators) contact them directly with full confidence.
And I’m already missing Africa!

Exceptional attention to providing the best possible experience.
I booked this Meru Slopes safari on the advice of a retired friend who is basically a professional traveler now. She undertook the trip last year and said that it was the best she has had. I took my 13 year old son as a father son experience. Our guide was Rashid and I can honestly state that I felt that he went above and beyond to make this as good and memorable experience for us as possible. I think he has a sixth sense of what the animals were thinking. He has 15 years' experience and it showed. Every day was special. My son loved it as well. The accommodation was terrific. We saw 2 crossings within an hour of each other one morning and saw each of the big 5. I originally booked with Qatar Airlines but that flight was cancelled without explanation so I rebooked with KLM to avoid the mid-east conflict. I can enthusiastically endorse Meru Slopes for your next safari.

Excellent experience - stop comparing quotes, just go for Meru Slopes
We booked a 7-Days privat Safari with Meru Slopes and it's been fantastic. The coordination with Leonard via WhatsApp was very convenient and the itenary built based on out preferences. Our tour guide Robert was the best - you can clearly say his experience and knowledge are on another level. The LandCruiser was brand new, we had wifi and cold drinks on board all the time, the food was superb and we are very grateful for the amazing trip.
