Meru Slopes exceeded our expectations of a perfect safari
From our first contact with Meru Slopes to when we said our farewell at the airport, we had excellent service. Jerome helped us decide which safari would suit us best and answered all our queries. He always responded promptly and when our airline altered our flight by more than 24 hours, he adjusted our safari to suit. The day before we started our safari, he visited us at the hotel and enquired if we had any allergies as the company would be ordering picnics for our safari days. What really surprised us, is that Jerome also came to see us the day after our safari ended to ask how it was, were we happy etc.
Well, we were more than happy. Our adventure with our wonderful guide, Douglas was perfect. Douglas has a wealth of knowledge about the wildlife, bird life and plant life and he happily shares it. Douglas is just amazing at spotting the animals and then maneuvering the jeep so we had an excellent view. He is a skillful and safe driver. He was also an excellent companion! We can highly recommend this company and our guide Douglas.

Amazing 11 day mid range Serengeti Great Migration-Kilimanjaro
We did the 8 day mid range serengeti great migration as a private safari for our group of 5. We added : an extra day of rest on arrival, 1 extra day in western serengeti and 1 extra day hiking on Mt Kilimanjaro for a total of 11 days. Meru Slopes added the extra days at reasonable charge and no extra inconvenience to us.
The trip was amazing. The great migration was a main priority, and our guide Santaely put us in the middle of the migration. Amazing. We saw the big 5. The wildlife viewing exceeded our expectations. Everything and more on our list. Accommodations and service and food were excellent, with a hot shower and a cold beer every evening. The cleanliness of the restrooms/ toilets throughout the trip surpassed all the ladies' hopes for their trip to the Serengeti wilderness. Our guide Suma, for the Kilimanjaro day hike was great, with his open conversation on life and Tanzania. He'd been to the summit +300 times. Transport to/from airport was great. No one in our group got sick. Mosquito nets were provided for our memory foam matress beds, but I only saw 2 mosquitos the whole trip.
The payment method of 30% bank draft deposit to hold reservation, the balance paid by credit card just before safari departure went without a flaw just as described by our Meru Slopes agent, Shadrack. The whole trip was excellent. We went at the end of low season and we're glad for the much reduced safari jeep numbers.
Incredible trip!

Don’t miss out! Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris are simply the BEST!
This was an absolutely amazing trip! We have dreamed of seeing the Great Migration for so long, and Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris organized a trip for our group of 5 (including my 16-yr old son) that exceeded our expectations! Shadrack did an excellent job by email helping us customize our safari to meet our needs and desires. The payment worked out just as they described. From airport pickup to daily tours to luxurious lodgings and friendly staff to our stellar safari guide (Santaely) to exquisite food and clean bathrooms everywhere - all was so well organized. Santaely took such good care of us and was very passionate about his job of guiding us to see the most animals (up so close to the jeep!) and, yes, the Big 5 and the Great Migration, which was incredible to see in real life! Santaely was a wealth of knowledge, and we felt that he truly cared about us, our safari, the animals, the ecology, and the Tanzanian culture. He worked well with the other guides in the Serengeti to help find the animals! This safari could not have been more perfect. We felt so welcomed by everyone. We ended with a fairly easy day hike with our driver, Joseph, and Suma (who had climbed Kilimanjaro over 300 times - incredible knowledge of the mountain, flora and fauna).
We left Tanzania with our hearts full, telling all our friends and family to take the time to do this unforgettable trip. Thank you, Meru Slopes, for all that you do!

A Tazannian owned professional and personable operator
We spent a 9-day, 7-night private safari with Meru Slopes and had a fantastic experience. We initially coordinated our booking through Leonard, who was incredible. While we already had a rough outline of our itinerary and preferred accommodations, Leonard advised and consulted with us to narrow down the final selection of lodges and routes. He was professional, highly responsive to our questions, and never pushy. He even met us at the start of our tour to introduce us to our driver/guide, Max, and caught up with us at the end of the trip to collect our feedback.
Our guide, Max, was incredibly pleasant, knowledgeable, and a safe driver. He worked with us every day to plan our schedule, knowing exactly how to navigate the circuits to maximize our wildlife viewings. Thanks to him, we saw an abundance of animals—including the Big Five and the Great Migration—often getting up close and personal with lions and cheetahs. By the end of the trip, Max felt like an extended member of our family.
There are a lot of operators out there, and it can be hard to know who to trust from afar online. We are so glad we chose Meru Slopes. They are professional, personable, competitively priced, and truly willing to tailor the trip exactly how you want it. I highly recommend them!

Perfect experience
We chose Meru Slopes for our safari in Tanzania, following a recommendation from a friend who had a great experience with them. It was a perfect safari, organized down to the last detail. The company was very friendly and helpful, providing guidance and support from Italy regarding every request and inquiry. The safari itself was flawless; our driver was very accommodating and friendly, adapting the itinerary to our needs. The hotels selected by the company were perfect and well-located. Highly recommended—we hadn't expected such a perfect welcome and level of organization.

Our driver Mohamed was excellent. We felt well cared for and we had a fantastic time! Kelvin who made the tour arrangements was right on point with the lodging and activities. I’ve traveled to many places but this one was special. Thank you for this unforgettable experience!

Seamless from start to finish, an amazing guide, and a truly unforgettable safari!
We’ve just returned from an 8-day safari with Meru Slopes, and it was everything we’d hoped for. Almachius made booking easy and was happy to build a custom trip around us, taking in Tarangire, Lake Manyara, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti. From pickup everything ran smoothly.
Our guide and driver, Nuru, made the week! The kind of person you’re genuinely glad to share a car with for seven days. He knows the region inside out, from trees and birds to wildlife, and went above and beyond at every turn: a superb driver with a sharp eye for spotting, who kept the car spotless and tidy each day. He clearly works with photographers a lot too, and we hugely appreciated how he’d find us the best position, light and background for the animals; and being so well connected with the other guides, he always knew exactly where they’d be.
The lodges were all excellent, but the Signature Luxury Tents in the Serengeti were our favourite, waking up to lions and zebra calling nearby was unforgettable. Thank you to Meru Slopes, Almachius and the team, and a massive special thanks to Nuru, who we feel very lucky to have had as our guide.

We did 4 days mid range luxury Safari for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time during our safari trip. Robert our guide is absolutely the best and you can tell how experienced he truly is! It wouldn’t be the same without him! Thanks again. Will definitely come back and share with friends and family.

Exceptional!
I couldn’t be happier that we chose Meru Slopes Tours and Safaris Limited for our Tanzania Safari. Rarely these days does anyone meet your expectations, must less exceed them. But that’s exactly what we got with Meru Slopes.
I started working with Shadrack back in February. We went back and forth because I had a lot of questions and wants. And an average budget. Not once did he ever make me feel like I was a bother. Not once did I NOT get a response in a timely manner, which made me wonder if he ever slept. His customer service was so next level, I actually thought that he was the owner. I did not get any of that from any other Company I reached out too.
We ended up booking a 9 day private mid-range Tour because of the affordability. We visited Lake Manyara, The Central Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Highlands and Crater and Tarangire National Park. Mude was our guide and he was fantastic. He was an exceptional driver, extremely accommodating to our needs, kept our Land Rover clean, made sure we had hot lunches everyday and had a mission to make sure we saw the top 5 and every other species of animals available. And we did, he was such a good spotter. I can’t quit raving about him, Shadrack and everyone else at this Company. Tells me everything I need to know about the owner, who by the way, is a local. And we like to support the locals.
Every place we stayed was different, unique, beautiful and comfortable. The food was amazing, and so good at two of the places, we asked for the chef to thank him personally. We were just there in April from the 21st to the 29th(2026). It was shoulder season so there weren’t many other people. In two of the places we stayed, we were the only ones there. You would think the service wouldn’t be as good, but on the contrary. We got so much attention.
It was towards the end of rainy season, but luckily, there was very little. And it came at times that never affected our safari’s. Every single day we saw so many animals. Herd after Herd of Wildebeest, Elephants, Zebra, so many different types of Antelopes, Lions, Cheetahs, Hippos, Rhinos, the list goes on. Until what they call the Great Migration when some animals head to Kenya, from September to July, they are all in The Serengeti in Tanzania. And migrating daily to different areas in the park. Spring is when the babies are born, and every herd had a lot. Every day was something new and exciting, too many highlights to list them all, but one of our favorites; Finding about 4 mama lions and lots of babies eating a wildebeest they had killed the night before. We were the first ones there and stayed for at least an hour. At some point, a couple of other jeeps turned up, but in season, you could experience over 50. No thanks.
The one thing I would change about our itinerary; I would not include Tarangire, the last National Park we visited. And I would spend two nights at the places where we only stayed one night. And I would probably add in a few other places in Tanzania. Instead, we headed to Kenya for a 5 day Safari thinking we would see something different. After Tanzania, and such a perfect Safari on every level. Kenya was a huge disappointment. Especially the roads, they were horrendous. Tanzania truly was a dream of a lifetime. And it didn’t break the bank. Shadrack, Mude, Joseph, Edmond and every other single person we met in Tanzania was genuinely friendly, sincere, and just good people. Our accommodation was unique and beautiful. The Food fantastic. The service exceptional.
