Exceptional!
5/5

I couldn’t be happier that we chose Meru Slopes Tours and Safaris Limited for our Tanzania Safari. Rarely these days does anyone meet your expectations, must less exceed them. But that’s exactly what we got with Meru Slopes.

I started working with Shadrack back in February. We went back and forth because I had a lot of questions and wants. And an average budget. Not once did he ever make me feel like I was a bother. Not once did I NOT get a response in a timely manner, which made me wonder if he ever slept. His customer service was so next level, I actually thought that he was the owner. I did not get any of that from any other Company I reached out too.

We ended up booking a 9 day private mid-range Tour because of the affordability. We visited Lake Manyara, The Central Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Highlands and Crater and Tarangire National Park. Mude was our guide and he was fantastic. He was an exceptional driver, extremely accommodating to our needs, kept our Land Rover clean, made sure we had hot lunches everyday and had a mission to make sure we saw the top 5 and every other species of animals available. And we did, he was such a good spotter. I can’t quit raving about him, Shadrack and everyone else at this Company. Tells me everything I need to know about the owner, who by the way, is a local. And we like to support the locals.

Every place we stayed was different, unique, beautiful and comfortable. The food was amazing, and so good at two of the places, we asked for the chef to thank him personally. We were just there in April from the 21st to the 29th(2026). It was shoulder season so there weren’t many other people. In two of the places we stayed, we were the only ones there. You would think the service wouldn’t be as good, but on the contrary. We got so much attention.

It was towards the end of rainy season, but luckily, there was very little. And it came at times that never affected our safari’s. Every single day we saw so many animals. Herd after Herd of Wildebeest, Elephants, Zebra, so many different types of Antelopes, Lions, Cheetahs, Hippos, Rhinos, the list goes on. Until what they call the Great Migration when some animals head to Kenya, from September to July, they are all in The Serengeti in Tanzania. And migrating daily to different areas in the park. Spring is when the babies are born, and every herd had a lot. Every day was something new and exciting, too many highlights to list them all, but one of our favorites; Finding about 4 mama lions and lots of babies eating a wildebeest they had killed the night before. We were the first ones there and stayed for at least an hour. At some point, a couple of other jeeps turned up, but in season, you could experience over 50. No thanks.

The one thing I would change about our itinerary; I would not include Tarangire, the last National Park we visited. And I would spend two nights at the places where we only stayed one night. And I would probably add in a few other places in Tanzania. Instead, we headed to Kenya for a 5 day Safari thinking we would see something different. After Tanzania, and such a perfect Safari on every level. Kenya was a huge disappointment. Especially the roads, they were horrendous. Tanzania truly was a dream of a lifetime. And it didn’t break the bank. Shadrack, Mude, Joseph, Edmond and every other single person we met in Tanzania was genuinely friendly, sincere, and just good people. Our accommodation was unique and beautiful. The Food fantastic. The service exceptional.

Nuru brought our Safari to Life!
5/5

We booked a week-long private safari through Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris, and I was beyond impressed from start to finish. After comparing several companies on Safaribookings, Meru Slopes offered by far the best value for the mid-level to luxury range we were looking for. The accommodations were excellent throughout the trip, providing a great balance of comfort, quality. One night we were the only guest at a luxury lodge in the Serengeti and we had a special bush dinner to ourselves! Our itinerary was thoughtfully designed, beginning with a fly-in to the Serengeti and making our way south through Ngorongoro and Tarangire before returning to Arusha, which made the trip flow naturally and minimized long travel days.

A huge thank you goes to our safari guide, Nuru. His knowledge of the wildlife and local culture was impressive, and he always took the time to answer our endless questions. He did incredibly fun things like the Serengeti Sunset, chasing the Great Migration, and getting us the best sightings. Beyond his expertise, Nuru was incredibly friendly, patient, and genuinely fun to spend time with during long game drives! His enthusiasm was evident every day. By the end of the week, he felt more like a friend than a guide, and we will truly miss him.

We would also like to thank my Dear friend Leonard for all of his help during the planning process. From our initial inquiries to the final details of the trip, he was responsive, professional, and always willing to assist with questions, changes, and special requests. Leonard made everything straightforward and stress-free. To Leonard, Nuru, and the entire Meru Slopes team: we had an unforgettable safari experience and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone visiting Tanzania. Asante!

Patient and knowledgeable
5/5

Planning was very good with Gift from Meruslopes. He promptly answered all of our questions quickly either by text or telephone. He customized our trip to meet our needs, we were a group of three, grandparents and our 11 year old granddaughter! We were met at the airport and all of our transfers went very well.
Douglas was our safari guide. He has 18 years of experience and knowledge. The man knows all there is to know about the animals, fruits and vegetables and
flowers ! He was very pleasant and patient the entire trip, just amazing !
He worked well with his colleagues to help us find interesting events happening in the wild, he took lots of time watching a cheeta try to steal his prey back from a hyena, the hyena won ! Douglas made sure we had a great view to watch ! We also watched a huge herd of hippos in the river which was mesmerizing! Douglas was kind to let us stay there quite a while.
All of the sleeping arrangements were nice ! Good mattresses and lovely breakfast upon awakening. The various staff cannot be more accommodating and pleasant.. they all go out of their way to make you are happy.
In summary, I recommend Meruslopes for a safari in Africa ! They are very communicative and willing to go out of their way so you have a successful safari ! Douglas is a true gem with his many years of experience! Try to get with him if you can … he is a walking encyclopedia and a very pleasant one too !

Superb service and safari delivery!
5/5

We had a wonderful time during our 9 day private mid range Serengeti Safari.
Everything was wonderful. All accomodation was great - clean, comfortable, and with friendly staff who were attentive to our needs.
Food was great - breakfast, lunch and dinner. Only thing was there was too much food for lunch but better that than not enough 🥰. We were never hungry! The accomodation prepared packed lunches that we ate whilst out on Safari- everything so well organised.

The actual Safari was superb! We cannot rave enough about the memories we have formed whilst out on safari with our wonderful guide Max. Max was very knowledgable about the culture and history of Tanzania and about ‘all things safari’. Max drove safely at all times and through his expertise we were able to meet our dreams of seeing lions, leopards, giraffes, elephants, cheetahs, different monkeys, multiple types of antelope and many different birds. We will never forget our experiences and would highly recommend Max and Meru Slopes as the safari tour operator to choose. Our favourite place was the Serengeti where we spent 4 nights/5 days exploring. The days were packed from almost dawn to dusk whilst on the Serengeti. We also splurged on a balloon ride over the Serengeti and this was brilliant! So glad we did this (NYSSA were the balloon operators and Meru Slopes organised this for us).

The quote and booking process was great too! We dealt with Almachius who was easy to deal with and very supportive of our needs. Nothing was a problem, even when we messaged Almachius at 1am in the morning via WhatsApp (Almachius answered at this time!) . Everything was as we had agreed and was reliably delivered!

Overall we had one of the best experiences of our lives and will recommend Meru Slopes to our family and friends!
Thanks Max and Almachius for helping us to create such wonderful experiences and memories!

Amazing Travel
5/5

My friend and I had an incredible experience with Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris. A huge thank you to Leonard Mkwavi, our manager, who was always very responsive and organized everything perfectly.
Our driver-guide, Samwel Musangi, was absolutely brilliant. He was always there doing his absolute best for everyone, showing incredible kindness and a wonderful, positive attitude every single day. During the trip, some tensions arose with two other clients in our group (composed of my friend and I, and another couple). However, this was absolutely not the company's fault, and the team managed the situation as best as they could.
Our chef, Dwula, treated us to absolutely delicious meals throughout the entire journey!
We also want to mention Manuel, who drove us multiple times for shorter trips and took us on great excursions to Chemka Hot Springs and the Materuni Waterfalls. He was incredibly kind.
Thank you all for these unforgettable memories. 5 stars well deserved, we highly recommend them!

Wonderful, they curated an enjoyable safari experience for us!
5/5

We enjoyed our first safari experience with Meru Slopes!

Kelvin created a perfect itinerary for us to visit all the national parks in Tanzania and included a cultural village tour with a coffee experience on the last day, because we said we were interested in coffee. He was also very responsive on WhatsApp and answered our queries readily. He also constantly checked in and ensured that our tour ran smoothly and safely for the week.

Our guide Jackson Leyeyo is wonderful. He has a sharp eye and spotted the animas that we wanted to see at the safari. We were able to catch the big five in this trip thanks to him! He always gave us ample time to take pictures of the animals before filling us up on facts about the animal.

Another thing we appreciated during the tour was having hot food during lunch. It was delicious and kept us full for the duration of the game drive.

Unfortunately our jeep broke down on the second last day and we were stranded for a bit in Ngorongoro, and Jackson tried his best to fix the car. The car could not be fixed but Jackson arranged for us to join another group for the final game drive in Ngorongoro. He ensured our safety during the situation and handled the car issue while we were still able to complete the last game drive. After the game drive, Meru Slopes also arranged a private transfer to take us back to Arusha from Ngorongoro. We were very pleased with how Meru Slopes handled the situation.

Overall, we are pleased with Meru Slopes’ tour and service. It made our safari trip a truly memorable experience.
