A Trip of a Lifetime!
Thank you Meru Slopes, Jerome and Max for a trip of a lifetime! We had the most incredible, well planned, trouble free Safari that we could have hoped for. It exceeded our expectations, in large part due to our amazing guide, Max. He made sure we were comfortable, safe and saw absolutely everything. The Big Five and so much more. The Wildebeest river crossings were a sight to behold! We have already recommended Meru Slopes and Max to many friends and family.

Amazing Safari Experience!
We book with Ignatius from Meru Slopes, we told him what we want and he make sure to fulfill everything, he was very attentive, our driver Mark was very knowledgeable and he make sure we saw all Big fives and almost the great migration, maybe next time we'll see it! We went on a seven-day private mid-range safari with Meru Slopes Tours through Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater – and we were absolutely thrilled from start to finish. The entire trip was exceptionally well organized and exceeded our expectations in every respect. We would recommend Meru Slopes without hesitation!
From the initial planning to the communication throughout the entire trip, everything was first-class. Leonard, who was responsible for organizing our safari, was always reliable, helpful and made sure that everything ran smoothly. At no point did we feel that we had to worry about anything ourselves – from our perspective, it would be hard to imagine a better-organized safari.
We would also like to give special praise to our guide, Stanley. He has an impressive knowledge of wildlife, nature and the national parks. We had an incredible number of questions, and Stanley took the time to answer every single one of them, explaining everything patiently and in great detail. At the same time, he had an excellent sense of where and when the best opportunities for wildlife sightings were likely to arise. It is also a great advantage that the guides are connected by radio and share information about animal sightings with each other. Stanley repeatedly positioned us in fantastic spots, allowing us to get “up close” to the animals and take some outstanding photographs.
Thanks to Stanley, we saw all of the Big Five – four of them on the very first day! As expected, we spotted the rhino on our final day in the Ngorongoro Crater.
Overall, we were incredibly lucky during our safari. One absolute highlight was witnessing the famous river crossing at the Mara River. We only had to wait for about an hour before we got to witness this spectacular natural phenomenon. Stanley explained to us that the chances of seeing such a crossing on any given day are only around 5–10%. We also heard from other travellers that some of them had waited for four days without seeing a single crossing.
There were plenty of other encounters that we will definitely never forget. We saw a lioness immediately after a zebra kill, and one evening we even witnessed a lion taking down a large buffalo not far from our camp.
The lodges were also excellent without exception. All of the accommodations were very comfortable, the food was great, and the staff everywhere were incredibly friendly and welcoming.
One small note for future guests: We found the visit to a Maasai village interesting overall and appreciated the opportunity to gain some insight into the local culture. At the same time, however, we felt that the visit was very much geared towards getting money from tourists. From the beginning, we were of course more than happy to make a donation to support the Maasai and the village. What we found somewhat uncomfortable, though, was that several parts of the visit felt more like a staged performance, with requests for money being made at various points, more or less subtly.
At the very end, there was also an additional expectation to purchase souvenirs, which was initially presented to us as a contribution towards providing clean drinking water for the village. We were only told the prices after we had selected the items, and were then asked about our personal “budget”. We found the way this was handled relatively uncomfortable.
We are mentioning this explicitly only as a note for other travellers – it did not in any way overshadow our otherwise fantastic safari experience with Meru Slopes.
All in all, this safari was an absolute dream experience for us. The organization, communication, lodges, wildlife sightings, and especially Leonard and our guide Stanley were outstanding. We truly felt that we were in very good hands with Meru Slopes and were able to simply relax and enjoy the entire trip.

Can’t wait to go again
Everything with Meru Slopes worked perfectly. Almachius was always available and helped us setup our personalized safari. Our guide Omari was a wonderful companion for 5 days. Very knowledgeable and made sure we got the best pictures and that we were having a good time. On our last day we had a problem with our flights and Almachius and our driver Victor helped us on short notice. This vacation was nothing but perfect and I can’t wait to come again.

Meru Slopes Tours provided us with an unforgettable Tanzanian safari from start to finish. Leonard handled all our pre-trip planning and arrival coordination flawlessly, so we felt completely taken care of before we even hit the road. We booked the Tarangire - Serengeti - Ngorongoro route, which offered spectacular landscapes and wildlife viewing. The highlight of our time on the road was definitely our guide, Nickson. He is truly top-notch. His expertise, driving skills, and ability to track animals made the experience feel incredibly special. We had an incredible experience with Meru Slopes Tours. From the very beginning, Leonard was fantastic to work with. He coordinated all the logistics for us perfectly, both months in advance and on the day we arrived, making the whole process completely stress-free. Our itinerary took us through Tarangire, the Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater, and every single day was breathtaking. A huge part of why this trip was so amazing was our guide, Nickson. He is an absolute superstar - deeply knowledgeable, sharp at spotting wildlife, and genuinely invested in giving us the best safari possible. I highly recommend booking with this team!

BEST SAFARI EVER!!!!
What. An. Experience! This was the best holiday we have ever had, and we honestly don’t think it will ever be topped.
We spent 6 days on safari, including 3 nights in the Serengeti, but that was far too short. We could easily have stayed for 2 weeks surrounded by all the incredible wildlife.
Everything was perfectly organized, from our first contact with Gift Tembo to being picked up at the airport, but most of all, our amazing guide, Bariki. What an incredible person, guide, and now, a friend.
He has so much knowledge about the animals and plants, and he knows the Serengeti, Tarangire, and the Crater like the back of his hand. He truly made our safari unforgettable, always with a smile on his face. Your guide can make or break your safari, so choose Meru Slopes. Don’t try to save money when it comes to your safari, it’s simply not worth it.
We would also like to give a huge thank you to Meru Slopes for organizing everything so perfectly. All of our accommodations were SUPERB, and the food was excellent.
No negatives at all — everything was absolutely perfect!

All good with Juma!
Our guide was the msot experienced of them all. He knew the shortcuts,he knew how to position with the other jeeps,he knew how to read the client. He has a quick yet safe driving style. And althought is not entirely controlled by him,we got to see the Big 5!
Sightseeing Luxury Lodge was a must! Definitively,the best accomodation we could have!
Suggestions:
We wished the agency could provided binoculares for both of us,and more comucation on the day we arrived. And maybe the Arusha hotel could be better...

Excellent Safari Experience
We booked a 9-day, 8-night safari with Meru Slopes, covering Tarangire, Serengeti, Mara River and Ngorongoro. Overall, the itinerary was well organized, and both the accommodation and meals were very good.
I especially want to praise Jerome, who was responsible for planning our itinerary and communicating with us. He replied promptly, communicated efficiently, quickly arranged everything for us. Even when there was a misunderstanding about the itinerary along the way, he was able to communicate with us quickly.
In addition, our guide Omary was a very professional, knowledgeable, and humble guide. He always found the best spots for wildlife viewing as quickly as possible, while keeping an appropriate distance from the animals and respecting nature. Although he was usually a man of few words, he patiently answered all our questions about animals and Tanzanian culture.
In short, I would absolutely recommend Meru Slopes to others.

Great value for money - we saw everything!!
We did the 7 day (5 full day) tour of Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro tour lead by Ombeni.
Where to start, for the price ($6900 for 3 of us) it was nothing short of spectacular - at most of the accommodations it felt more like a luxury tour than the mid range one we paid for.
Ombeni listened exactly to what we wanted, stopping at the best viewpoints, and managed to ensure we saw the big 5 plus a bonus of cheetahs and even spotted a Serval!
Expect a lot of driving on bumpy roads, but it’s all worth it when you see the animals - plus the scenery is nothing short of spectacular, particularly in Ngorongoro and the serengheti. All the national parks have distinct scenery which kept the drives interesting.
We also opted to do the Masai village and I for one was expecting it to be loaded with tourists but we were the only tourists there when we arrived and had a welcome dance and shown around the village by the village leader.
