Home to Africa was great!
5/5

My father, fiance, and I went on the Gorilla Trekking safari with Home to African and had an amazing time! Home to Africa also organized for my dad and me to raft on the White Nile River, which was a great time, too. Karim, our driver/guide throughout Uganda was so incredibly kind and knowledgeable, we wish we would have had more time with him. The gorilla trekking experience was downright incredible and went so smoothly. Just be prepared for some rigorous hiking through the Impenetrable Forrest. The value for everything was also outstanding and very reasonable. We cannot recommend Karim and Home to Africa enough!

Karim was extremely kind and helpful, stopping at nothing to ensure our satisfaction.

Home to Africa provided excellent value for the money we paid. Our guide/driver Karim was outstanding. The biggest mistake I made was not following his advice when he suggested using wooden walking sticks rather than the titanium ones I brought. The modern ones both snapped in 10 minutes. Fortunately, I did follow Karim's advice in hiring a porter who helped me get down and up the jungle mountain on the gorilla trekking tour. Seeing the gorillas was one of the biggest thrills in my life. The hotels and food were also excellent.

Exceeded expectations and bent over backwards to meet our every need and request!
5/5

We would highly recommend this company without reservations. Everything as promised and more! One reason I chose this company is it was the only one that had all their security settings set correctly and made it through my work email without getting caught in spam or junk email. There was excellent communication and no surprises. While we didn't know what to expect, we were impressed with the accomodations as we traveled with 6 of us and they had 3 rooms reserved at every location--I expected we were all going to try to cram into one room--so it was great that we had more privacy. Our guide, William, become our friend and we miss him.

Safari bookings was a great way to get competive bids and I would also highly recommend them.

Thank you for your service!

World Class tour operator with good planning and very good driver/guide.
5/5

The trip was a tailor made trip:

6-Day, 5 Nights Trip to Uganda
Wildlife Sighting Including Gorilla Trekking
KIBALE NP | QUEEN ELIZABETH NP| ISHASHA | BWINDI NP | LAKE BUNYONYI

A thoroughly fantastic trip with a super driver/guide Peter. Very pleasant and friendly, really good and considerate driver with great knowledge of the flora and fauna.
He is highly recommend and so is “Home to Africa”.

The total drive was near 1500 km of which 500 km on very dusty roads.
It is recommended to ask for an A/C safari car if affordable and possible.

Exceptionally good lodges selected underway. 4-5*:

Isunga Lodge, Twin Lakes Safari Lodge, Haven Lodge Buhoma and Arcadia Lodge Bunyonyi.

The Chimpanzee and the Gorilla tracking were World ClLeifass experiences.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND HOME TO AFRICA TOURS!!!
5/5

I had one of my best travel experiences with Home To Africa Tours. I did a 12 day western Uganda tour which allowed me to focus on one part of the country and be able to actually enjoy the trip instead of trying to rush from one place to the next. Derrick was my driver and he was the perfect guide for me. He was very chill but also very informative and knowledgeable about wildlife and the culture of the country. I told him I wanted a taste of the "real" Uganda instead of just doing the touristy things. He took me out to a couple of the local bars at night, we stopped and ate some of the street food from the local vendors and we became friends along the way.

The thing about traveling to a third world country, is that you have to remember that you are in a third world country and you are not going to have the same comforts or amenities as you may have at home or while visiting other westernized countries. You would think this would go without saying, however, I realize that is not always the case. However, with that being said, my lodges were very comfortable with beautiful surroundings and left me with nothing to complain about.

Another thing to remember is wildlife is unpredictable and even though you might have it in your mind that you're going to see all of these animals you dreamt of seeing, the reality is, that's not always the case. I was one of the lucky ones and saw even more than I bargained for. Part of that was because I decided to spend an extra day at Queen Elizabeth NP. Three days at that park might be too many for some, but after not seeing much the first two days, I opted to do the tracker experience (for an extra fee). That was a total game changer for me. It allowed for a "front row" view of a leopard in a tree and a pride of lions making a kill. I even saw a hyena running across the savanna. I wouldn't go into this expecting to see the same things, however, you're chances of seeing these animals do increase drastically.

I did gorilla, chimpanzee and golden monkey trekking as well. I was one of the lucky groups to locate the gorillas within the first hour of trekking, however, I know this can be a 7-9 hour day while hiking through some very difficult, steep terrain. The experience was amazing but that hour did go by fast for me. It was definitely worth the experience, but if I go back, I might opt to do the gorilla habituation where you can spend four hours with them.

All in all, it was a trip of a lifetime for me and I would definitely recommend Home To Africa Tours. I really believe Derrick made all of the difference in my experience. He showed me the "real" Uganda and was so patient about everything. Home To Africa really nailed it in planning everything I had hoped to see and do. I embraced the country and it's culture as well as I could, and I hope if you choose to go, you do the same. It's a beautiful country with so much to offer, but ultimately it's up to you to truly embrace the country for all of its beauty.

Punctual, polite, flexible, skilled, reliable expert animal guides, with a five star experience!
5/5

We rescheduled our trip due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the operator worked with us to rebook lodging and permits. Extremely communicative, modern, reliable, punctual and safe experience. We were a bit nervous during the booking and money transfer. This company was by far the best, most reliable out of our five weeks of Africa bookings. Our driver was far better than our other tours, as he was professional and educated. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Punctual, great itinerary, trustworthy and accomodating
5/5

One of the best holidays. The gorilla safari did not disappoint and was the highlight of the trip but in addition we saw so many amazing things on safari in Uganda. The tours were well planned, the accommodation was great and itinerary, while busy gave us opportunities to see some amazing things. The tour guide was always punctual, attentive and friendly. I think if you wanted a more relaxing holiday you would need to specifically mention how much free time you would like to have.

Excellent, responsive and reliable
5/5

We had an excellent experience with Home To Africa for our time in Uganda. They were very responsive in planning our rather last minute arrangements and accomodating our changes. Our guide, Balam, was always punctual which we appreciated and was a safe driver, we always felt at ease! We highly recommend Home To Africa (=
