Exceptional Safari from Start to Finish
5/5

Our safari experience with Axis Safaris was exceptional from start to finish, and I would highly recommend them to anyone planning a trip to Kenya for a Safari Tour.

The pricing was fair and competitive, and from our first enquiry Tabitha was helpful and responsive. Communication was great throughout the booking process, with all of our questions answered promptly, making everything straightforward and stress-free.

Our 6-day safari was very well organised and ran smoothly from beginning to end. We visited the Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and Amboseli. We were fortunate enough to see the Big Five, along with many other animals and scenery throughout. Our accommodation at each stop was lovely and everyone we met - staff and other tourists - were also great.

A special mention has to go to our guide, Mohammed, who was fantastic throughout the entire trip. He was friendly, knowledgeable, patient and always happy to answer questions or share information about the wildlife, local culture and the areas we visited. He worked incredibly hard to ensure everyone in the group was comfortable, well looked after and had the best possible experience.

We had an amazing time and are very grateful to have had Mo as our guide.

Thank you to Mohammed, Tabitha and the whole Axis Safaris team for delivering a first class Safari experience.

Professional company with experienced drivers who provide an unforgettable experience
5/5

We recently completed a 6-day safari covering the Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli, including a hot air balloon safari, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Every destination offered something unique, from the incredible wildlife of the Masai Mara to the beautiful scenery around Lake Naivasha and the breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro in Amboseli. The hot air balloon safari was a real highlight and provided a completely different perspective of the African landscape at sunrise.

A huge part of what made this trip so special was our guide, Mo. His knowledge of the animals, their behaviour and the surrounding landscapes was exceptional. Rather than simply driving around hoping to spot wildlife, he understood where different animals were likely to be and how the terrain and time of day influenced their movements. Thanks to his experience, we were able to enjoy some incredible sightings that we might otherwise have missed.

Mo was also extremely accommodating throughout the trip. He always took the time to understand what we wanted to see and do, adapting the game drives and daily plans wherever possible to make sure we got the most from our safari. Whether it was spending longer watching a pride of lions, searching for a particular species or finding the perfect viewpoint, nothing ever seemed like too much trouble. His enthusiasm for wildlife was infectious, and he was always happy to answer our questions with interesting facts and stories about Kenya’s ecosystems, history and culture.

Just as importantly, Mo was friendly, approachable and professional throughout the six days. He created a relaxed atmosphere that made every game drive enjoyable, and it genuinely felt like we were exploring with someone who was passionate about sharing his country with visitors. Long journeys between parks flew by thanks to his conversations and local knowledge.

The accommodation throughout the safari was also excellent. Each lodge was comfortable, clean and well maintained, providing the perfect place to relax after long days of exploring. The staff at every location were incredibly hospitable and welcoming, always greeting us with a smile and making sure we had everything we needed. The quality of the food was very good, and the service consistently exceeded our expectations.

Overall, this safari was one of the best travel experiences we have ever had. The combination of stunning landscapes, unforgettable wildlife encounters, excellent accommodation and outstanding hospitality made it a truly memorable trip. Having a guide like Mo elevated the experience even further, and we are incredibly grateful for all the effort he put into making our safari so special.

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone considering a safari in Kenya. From the incredible destinations and well-organised itinerary to the fantastic accommodation and exceptional guiding, everything was handled brilliantly. It was an experience we’ll remember for the rest of our lives, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to friends and family.

Intelligent and Welcoming
5/5

I spent 7 unforgettable days on safari with Hassan, traveling completely solo, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better guide. As a solo female traveler, safety was my biggest concern, but Hassan made me feel comfortable, protected, and at ease from the very beginning. I trusted him completely, and that allowed me to fully enjoy every moment of the trip.

Hassan’s knowledge of the wildlife, animal behavior, and the parks was incredible. Every morning he explained what the day would look like, what we might see, and answered every question I had with patience and enthusiasm. He also checked in with me throughout the trip to make sure I was comfortable, having a good time, and had everything I needed.

He went above and beyond to make my experience special, whether it was making sure I had fresh watermelon, juice, or coffee, or stopping whenever I wanted more time to enjoy an animal. I even found myself asking to eat meals with him because I genuinely enjoyed our conversations—they became one of my favorite parts of the trip.

By the end of the seven days, I felt like I had not only experienced an incredible safari but had also made a true friend. If you’re lucky enough to have Hassan as your guide, you’re in the best hands. He is kind, professional, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and someone who genuinely cares about his guests. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

More Than a Safari: A Journey Through Kenya
5/5

Our 8-day safari through the Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha, and Amboseli was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we entered the Masai Mara, I was deeply moved. Africa has something truly special—an energy that’s hard to describe—and seeing wild animals in their natural habitat felt like a dream come true.

During the trip, I alternated between the two safari vehicles, so I had the opportunity to spend time with both of our driver-guides, Nelson Simba and Collin Sembele. They were both friendly, professional and incredibly knowledgeable about the parks, wildlife and animal behavior. Simba was more comfortable speaking Spanish, but both of them were always happy to answer every question we asked.

Driving and guiding at the same time is clearly a demanding job. They have to concentrate on the road, search for wildlife, listen to the radio and check messages about new sightings, all while making sure their guests have the best possible experience. On some days we spent more than 12 hours in the vehicle, stopping only for a picnic lunch, and during the long road transfers they also had to deal with traffic, difficult roads and accumulated fatigue. It made me appreciate even more the effort, patience and dedication they put into their work every single day.

One thing that I particularly appreciated was the respect both guides showed towards the animals. At no point did I feel they were disturbing the wildlife just to get a better view. For me, this is essential because, after all, we are the visitors in their home, not the other way around.

Visiting a Maasai village was another highlight of the trip. Whenever I travel, I enjoy learning about the local culture, traditions and way of life, and it was a meaningful experience. Personally, I would also have enjoyed seeing more of everyday Kenyan life, perhaps by stopping in local towns rather than places mainly designed for tourists. However, I also understand the practical reasons behind the itinerary.

Overall, this safari exceeded my expectations. It was not only about seeing incredible wildlife, but also about experiencing the landscapes, the people and the unique atmosphere of Kenya. I will always remember this journey, and I am very grateful to Nelson Simba and Collin Sembele for helping make it so special.

Everything was well organized from the very beginning. Winnie was always quick to respond and patiently answered all my questions before the trip. Our guide, Robert, was fantastic—he had incredible eagle eyes and always got us to the best spots for wildlife viewing. He shared so much about the animals and gave us a deeper appreciation of Kenya. Highly recommend!

A truly amazing safari with Axis Africa Safaria and Driver Daniel Sururu
5/5

After many weeks of deliberation and throughly reviewing multiple safari operators I finally decided to go with Axis Africa Safaris - this decision that was not taken lightly, but one I am very pleased to say I did not regret.

The service provided by Rita at Axis Africa Safaris was fantastic. She promptly responded to all of my emails, addressed all my questions and concerns, and arranged an amazing safari for myself and my family. And to top it all, their prices were incredibly competitive.

When deciding which accommodation to select Rita provided detailed information regarding hotel options split by budget. We finally decided on Ashnil Mara Camp, Sarova Lion Hill (Lake Nakuru) and Naivasha Swela Lodge.

Ashnil Mara Camp was amazing - the tents were huge and very comfortable. The service and food were fantastic! We all throughly enjoyed our 3 night stay and particularly appreciated the hot water bottles which were carefully placed into our beds every night! The food was also good at Sarova Lion Hill and Swela lodge, but the rooms at Sarova lodge were rather small and in need of an upgrade.

When arranging the safari I specifically requested a Masi guide, and we were lucky enough to be allocated Daniel Sururu. Daniel was our dedicated driver for the six days and he was fantastic. His knowledge of the parks and wildlife within it was exceptional! On Day 1 of the safari Daniel asked each of us what we wanted from the safari and he did his upmost to make sure our expectations were met. And I am pleased to say that they really were and more! This included seeing loins taking down a buffalo, the big 5, the beginning of the great migration and much, much more! My husband is a keen photographer and bird lover, and Daniel was super good at pointing out the many species of birds in the Mara and Lake Nakuru. And as luck would have it, Daniel was also a keen photographer and appreciated the importance of positioning and lighting, so he would do his best to put his car in the optimal position for my husband to take a photo.

As part of the safari we had arranged a 2 hour boat ride on Lake Naivasha to see the many hippos and bird life the lake has to offer. Unknown to us, Daniel called ahead of our visit to arrange for a specific guide who he knew was very knowledgable about birds. The boat trip was amazing, even for those of us who were not bird lovers. I would strongly encourage anyone who has the time to go and visit this area.

Overall, we could not ask for anything more from Daniel, we felt completely safe with him and all times and he was really a truly an amazing guide (and driver) and if were fortunate enough to come back to the Masi Mara I would not want any other guide!

Thank you to Axis Africa Safaris for arranging our amazing safari and to Daniel for making our trip fantastic and so unforgettable - you really were the star of our trip!
