Amazing Safari!
4/5

The safari was an amazing experience! We saw an incredible number of animals, and our tour guide Izack did an outstanding job. He was extremely dedicated, always made sure we were having a great time, and brought such a positive energy throughout the entire safari. He really made the experience unforgettable, and we would 100% recommend Izack as a guide!

The accommodations were also very good overall, apart from the first hotel upon arrival. The food was great as well, and everything during the safari itself was very well organised.

The only thing that was a little unfortunate was that the transfer upon arrival didn’t work as planned, and there was also some confusion with the initial pick-up. However, Izack really made up for it with the fantastic safari experience.

Overall, we had an unforgettable time and would definitely recommend the safari - especially with Izack as your guide!

Very knowledgeable guides
4/5

We had a fantastic week of safari in Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorogoro. The density of wildlife was amazing and our guide Jordan was very knowledgeable and skilled. Great food too!

Great experience
4/5

We did a 5-day camping safari, in Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Our guide, Jordan, was brilliant - knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and a good driver and mechanic, which was needed on the road to the Serengeti! We saw the big 5 and many more thanks to Jordan’s experience and skill. He was patient with our many questions and good humoured to boot. The wildlife was wonderful with amazing landscapes as well.

Food was plentiful and decent (thank you Samson and James), and camping facilities were not too bad, although in Serengeti and Ngorongoro the showers and toilets were pretty dirty and hot water nonexistent. These were shared campsites though, and this is understandable given how remote the locations are.

The car was quite comfortable with good big windows for viewing the wildlife, and a fridge with plenty of water provided, even plugs for charging electricals. Felt in need of a bit of TLC though - in particular none of the seatbelts worked which felt quite unsafe on some of the roads.

Worth bearing in mind that the drive to the Serengeti is long, very dusty, and VERY bumpy, so spending more than a night in the Serengeti might feel like it is more worth the drive.

Decent company, excellent staff!
4/5

Pretty good food (looked better than other lunches we saw) and great driving and guiding from Jordan who is extremely skilled and patient!

The car could have done with more maintenance — critically working seatbelts, aircon to combat the dusty roads, and seats that aren’t beginning to fall apart. However the main thing we came for is safari, and safari we got indeed! Saw loads and loads of animals and birds, and impressively, Jordan could name them all.

Better communication and organisation would also help.

I want to emphasize that all the improvements suggested above are on the company/admin side. The staff with us throughout were amazing.

Really informative and helpful, knows the safari routes really well and kept to good timescales.
4/5

The tour was very good and we seen so many animals, camp sites were very equipped with facilities. The chefs food was very good each day and the guide was very informative on our tour taking us on good routes and asking us questions when needed. The guide was good on checking in on everyone if they were okay. The only thing I would suggest is which came as a suprise was someone from the company came the evening before and said I would get a message when my pickup time would be, this never happened and I got a call from reception saying my guide was here, which was a bit of a shock. My other surprise was the route had been amended from what was stated on the tour. The parks weren’t followed in the order stated in the booking which felt a bit confusing. However this was a good trip!

A very good experience, our highlight of Tanzania.
4/5

An experience that has to be lived ! We have been able to see almost all animals including the big five !
Concerning the accommodation, we slept in a tent that is very budget but very exciting to wake up in the middle of impalas, zebras, really great !
Concerning the food, it is good and adapted as well if you’re vegetarian.
The reason of 4 stars and not 5 is because we drove a lot and sometimes didn’t spend a lot of time in the park.

Great Safari!
4/5

Lewis our guide was amazing! Very knowledgable, friendly, helpful, and punctual.

The safari vehicle isn’t the most comfortable for such long journeys, if you’re tall it might be a problem! The windows in our vehicle were extremely difficult to wind up and down. The two seats in the back are not very comfortable or easy to get into.

The Safari itself was great! Tarangire was definitely the best day and we saw so many animals. Serengeti was slightly disappointing, but still a great experience. We had cooked food every day for lunch. It wasn’t hot, but it was warm and adequate.

I would definitely recommend Suricata Safaris and wouldn't hesitate booking with them again.

Exhausting but Great Experience
4/5

Our Safari with Suricata was a once in a lifetime experience we enjoyed a lot and definitely did not regret! We booked the 4 day mid range safari and we travelled with our 7 year old son.

Great about this trip was:
+ Terengire Park was the best start because we saw a lot of animals on our first day already, our son was so excited
+ We spend our first day in an old open safari vehicle - it seemed like an emergency solution because no other car was free but we enjoyed this a lot and it was way cooler than the other Cars
+ Serengeti and Ngorongoro are also definitely worth the trip and offered different landscapes and animals
+ All acomodations during the Safari were awesome, Boma Lodge was so special, and we also enjoyed staying in the middle of serengeti in Tanzania Bush Camp Simba - u fortunately I forgot the Name of the last accomodation but the staff in all of them were so nice as well as the food which was amazing
+ We felt close to nature and safe and welcome all the time during the Safari
+ We spend the last 3 days with our tour guide Alawi who was super morivated, kind,
had a lot to say about Tanzania, the region and the animals and most of all was really flexible to adjust the toor to our needs - best man! Our son loved him!

What could have been improved is the organisation around the tour by Suricata:
- We did not get any information from suricata regarding our airport pick up, didn‘t get any answers the day before arrival and indeed no one was at the airport to pick us up. Everybody was very friendly and tried to help at the airport, in the end we only waited 30 minutes and it all worked out. But still this is not the experience you want travelling with a kid. An e-Mail or WhatsApp shortly before arrival would have helped to feel better.
- The first briefing we got upon arrival would indeed have been helpful before, since it had some important packing Information: Bring long clothes, a scar for dust, tip for the driver (15-20 Dollar per Person per day), and the car only has space for luggage for 3 nights, the rest of your luggage Stars at the Hotel. Here as well: An e-mail before arrival would have helped.
- The hotel for the first and last night in Arusha was awful. We stayed at SG Resort, an information we also did not get in advance. The surrounding was so loud that we could not get any sleep before and after the Safari. During our last night a staff member even knocked our door close to midnight while we were already sleeping. They had miscalculated the bill for dinner and made us pay the difference in cash in the middle of the ight at the door in our pyjamas. Don‘t stay here if you don’t want to start or finish your Safari tired!
- What was also not communicated properly in advance is that you spend hours in the car on bumpy roads to get to your game drive and to your accommodations. For us it was fine but travelling with Kids you should definitely know there will be 2-4h extra time in the car additional to the actual Safari. If you have problems with motion sickness, bring medicine
