Incredible experience and excellent guide
My friends and I have just returned from a 5-day Serengeti and Ngorongoro safari with Serengeti Wakanda Tours -- and it completely exceeded our expectations. It was my third trip to Tanzania, so I'm no stranger to safari in Tanzania -- but this trip was special as I brought my closest friends along with me to experience one of my favorite places on Earth. I wanted it to be truly epic and Wakanda Tours delivered in every sense of the word.
Bartho designed a custom itinerary for us, and arranged an excellent guide and superb accommodation. Our guide Felix was kind, professional, responsible and engaging. It was clear from the start that he has years of experience as a wildlife guide. His eagle eyes could spot animals from miles away and he was always sharing valuable information about the wildlife with us. He was also constantly communicating with other guides in the area to make sure we saw as much wildlife as possible.
Thanks to Felix, we saw all of the Big Five, including the elusive leopard (up close!). Felix also spotted the rare white rhino in the Ngorongoro Crater from a mile away, while driving! Besides masterfully navigating some challenging roads (not uncommon in the rainy season), he also managed to feed us warm, comforting meals everyday. While other travelers seemed to be munching on cold sandwiches, we were treated to a nice spread every day for lunch -- from beef stew and rice to spaghetti and even pizzas! We wished there were more Tanzanian grub though, like Ugali and Nyama Choma. :D
All the lodging we stayed at was excellent, especially Wakanda's new luxury camp, Lala Salama. Our glamping tents were enormous and luxurious. I even had the chance to take a bath in their hot tub, with a view of giraffes in the far distance. At night, we would fall asleep to the sound of hyenas howling and one night the Masai ranger even spotted a jackal while walking me back to the tent. Lala Salama is run by a great team made up of enthusiastic Tanzanians from the nearby town of Karatu, and they're all warm, friendly, and so full of energy.
Even though it was my third trip to the area, Wakanda Tours still managed to blow me away. Serengeti and Ngorongoro are truly some of the best wildlife destinations in the world and I was so thrilled to see that Tanzania has done such a great job at protecting their wildlife and national park. I will be back for sure and the next time I know who I'll be traveling with.

Thank you so much to Zephania who accompanied us on a 3-night, 4-day safari.
Honestly, everything was perfect from start to finish. Zephania took great care of us all day long and made every effort to show us as many animals as possible while explaining so many interesting things along the way.
We were able to fulfill our dream and saw absolutely all the animals, even the rarest ones: leopard, cheetah, lions, lionesses and all their cubs. We also saw many zebras, giraffes, elephants and birds.
The accommodations were absolutely incredible. All the staff were very attentive and did everything they could to make this experience as comfortable as possible. Our trip to the Serengeti and the surrounding landscape was nothing short of incredible and spectacular! It is definitely one of the best trips I’ve ever went on in my life and was absolutely worth it. The chance to see so many charismatic species of wildlife roaming freely throughout the East African savannah is memories that I will treasure forever. Julius, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the various species that call this ecosystem home and we knew we were in good hands no matter what situation we were in. Plus, he has shown to be a fun and great person to be around who we would definitely have as our guide again. Service, whether it included housing, eating, and more was top notch and we definitely felt comfortable through the entire trip. We had a wonderful safari with our guide, Jimmy.
Jimmy speaks excellent German and gave us fantastic insights into the African wildlife, answering all our questions along the way. We spent three breathtaking days in Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara National Park. The weather was beautiful, and we saw so many animals—it was incredible. Each day, we enjoyed our lunch in stunning locations with breathtaking views. Jimmy truly made these days unforgettable. We couldn't fault him, and we would book this tour again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it.

Our Guide – Zephania (Request Him!)
We cannot recommend Zephania enough. With more than 10 years of guiding and game‑driving experience, he was trusting, kind, incredibly polite, and always made us feel safe. His knowledge of wildlife, ecosystems, predators, prey, birds, trees (like the Serengeti acacia and Tarangire’s iconic baobab), rivers (including the origins of the Seronera and Tarangire rivers), tribes, and local history made every moment meaningful.
One of the best parts of travelling with him was the early 6:15 am starts, which meant we consistently beat the rush. Because of this, we enjoyed quiet sightings—including witnessing a pride of lions feasting on their kill with only two other vehicles around. Thanks to his dedication, we saw the Big 5 and several rare animals.

Lala Salama Luxury Tented Camp – Our Favourite Stay Ever
Our two nights at Lala Salama Camp in the Serengeti were truly unforgettable. The camp was luxurious, welcoming, and exceeded expectations in every way. The team—especially Charles—made us feel instantly at home. The food was outstanding, and the picnic lunch boxes were far superior to the basic paper‑bag lunches we saw from other operators.
Sleeping under the Serengeti sky with the sounds of lions, buffalos, and hyenas nearby was a once‑in‑a‑lifetime experience. Our only regret: not staying longer.
A Magical Surprise Engagement During the Night Time Bush Dinner
We decided to opt in for the Night Time Bush Dinner, and it became the most unforgettable night of our lives.
