So So Nice!
We booked a 3-day, 2-night safari with Crater Explorer from Italy, after reading numerous positive reviews and hearing feedback from others who had already had this experience. We can confidently say that it was an excellent choice!
From our very first interactions, Emanuel was helpful, clear, and professional, guiding us through the planning of our trip.
The safari was very well organized; there were six of us in the jeep—a small group size that made the experience even more enjoyable. A special thanks to our guide, Omar—who was highly knowledgeable, competent, and always attentive—and to our chef, Emanuel, who delighted us every day with excellent and varied breakfasts, lunches, and dinners.
We opted for the camping package: the first campsite in the Serengeti is quite basic, with tents and shared facilities, while the Simba Camping site, where we stayed the second night, offers a few more comforts, including hot showers and a covered common area.
A quick note regarding an unforeseen issue during our return from the safari: the jeep we were using broke down and wouldn't start again. However, the company’s response was impeccable—another jeep arrived very quickly to pick us up and take us to our accommodation, handling the situation without any significant inconvenience.
A small piece of advice for those booking: if you have specific requirements regarding accommodation—such as double or single rooms—be sure to confirm availability in advance. In our case, as a group of three requesting one double and one single room, the arrangements didn't always match our initial request. It wasn't a problem for us, but it is definitely something to clarify before departure.
We also greatly appreciated the services included in the package, ranging from airport pick-up and pre- and post-safari accommodation to the final transfer. It was our first time relying entirely on a local agency while organizing everything from Italy, and we couldn’t have made a better choice. It was a wonderful experience—one we would highly recommend to anyone looking to go on a safari in Tanzania!

Crater Explorer, 5 Day Safari
Myself and two friends booked the 5 day safari covering Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara. The Safari was brilliant and we saw plenty of animals including all the big five. The accomodations for the package we booked were all perfect and very comfortable to stay at. There was one issue at one of the accomodations that was rectified by Emmanuel from Crater Explorers very promptly. Lastly the guide was great both at finding us animals in each park and giving us details about all we saw. Would definitely book again.

Excellent safari experience!
Highly recommend this company for a Tanzanian safari. Emanuel was very responsive throughout the entire planning process and during the safari too. We did a 5 day tour which encompassed Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Serengeti, and Lake Manyara national parks. The route was well planned and the longest drives went through other conservation areas so there was always something to see. Our safari driver was excellent and very enthusiastic to provide us the best experience possible. We had a fantastic time on this safari.

Excellent Safari
This company was excellent to do safari with! The guide was very interactive and always ensured we had the best experience possible. We saw the big 5 almost every day in each location we went too and the itineraries are very well planned to ensure maximum viewing of the animals and allow for the best sightings. This company was easy to deal with and had great communication. Everything went smoothly and as planned and I would highly recommend them. Would love to come back again!

Friendly, finding us a great team to Kilimanjaro!
A huge thank to Crater Explorer Safari for organizing an unforgettable Mount Kilimanjaro trek for us! The owner, Emanuel, is incredibly warm, enthusiastic, and tailored every detail of our itinerary perfectly to our needs.
Our lead guide, Richard, and his young apprentice, George, were the absolute dream team—knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely hilarious. They kept our spirits high with great stories along the trail and somehow mastered the art of adjusting the pace to match our fitness levels. Whenever we felt like collapsing, their relentless positivity kept us putting one foot in front of the other. Thanks to them, our not-so-athletic crew actually made it to Gillman’s Point!

Great 4 day Meru trek
The trek was wonderful! This is a perfect option for people who want to hike and see animals and don't have the time/money/stamina for Kilimanjaro. Tough summit day.
The huts were clean, everything ran smoothly, and our crew did a great job. Our guide Mike was knowledgeable, encouraging, and easygoing. Lots of big tasty meals - you won't go hungry.
Communication with the company was easy, though I had to ask questions to get all the info I needed. So don't hesitate to text/email to coordinate. Emanuel helped arrange sleeping bag rentals for us and has an easy deposit system in place for payment.
It was very helpful to have the hotel included for the night before and the night after. Made planning and luggage storage easy.

We have just finished a 4-day safari through Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro, and the experience was absolutely incredible. We had the opportunity to see a wide variety of animals in breathtaking landscapes, and every day exceeded our expectations.

Fantastic tour with Crater Explorers!
We had a fantastic time on our 4-day Safari booked with Crater Explorer. Everything was well organized, our guide Thomas was simply amazing and we managed to see many animals (for which you’ll always need a little bit of luck, you’re not going to the zoo). Crater Explorer is a slightly smaller companies than some of the big names you’ll see so they really put efforts into customers satisfaction. We’d recommend them to anyone looking to do a safari in Serengeti and N’Gorongoro.
