I would definitely recommend Meektrails when booking a safari. The communication from planning the trip right up until the day we arrived was amazing. They were so quick to respond with any questions or queries we had and were so helpful. Everything was planned perfectly by Valentine. The service was brilliant. George was our tour guide and he ensured that we got to see the Big 5. We did a boat tour, a cycling tour, a hike and 2 days in national parks. It was amazing. The value for money was also very good. We always felt like our safety was prioritized.

Wonderful! Exceeded our expectations!
Our experience with Meektrails was amazing. When planning our trip, me and my husband were so lost in many companies, itineraries, but eventually we chose Meektrails because of their fast response, good and transparent communication, and social media presence. We are beyond happy with our choice. The car (4x4) was the best! We saw a lot of other companies in the parks and I can say we had the best car for all roads and all weather conditions.
Our guide Ben was amazing, he made sure we see the Big5, get amazing pictures, enjoy the animals from the best perspective. He knew ahead of time where the animals will go and we were waiting there before other cars. We managed to see every animal from an amazing angle. He took his time to tell us all about the Kenyian culture, history, animals, parks, traditions, nature. He answered all our questions, and even though we had some long distances between different parks, everything was super comfortable, and we enjoyed it. We are now going back with so much information and interesting facts.
Water was always available in the car fridge, we made stops whenever we needed it, the itinerary was perfect.
We came from Austria, stayed for 6 days and visited Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara. Each park was very unique. Amboseli was amazing with so many elephants and the views to Kilimanjaro. We stayed at Kibo Safari Camp which was also an amazing experience by itself. We did a boat safari to see the hyppos in Naivasha and it was wow! Seeing the most aggressive and dangerous animals so close from a boat, in their natural habbitat was an unforgettable experience. We also did a walking safari in Naivasha and saw so many animals up close. Lake Nakuru gifted us the honor of seeing a leopard, with no cars around, just us and him walking in front of us. The park was so green and beautiful, very different from Amboseli or Masai Mara. The last stop for us was Masai Mara, where we saw over 35 lions in just a few hoursđ. We also did a short walking safari along the river Mara with a ranger and saw the hyppos and crocodiles. Ben also took us to a local Masai village, less touristy so we could have an understanding of their culture and life. They were so kind to meet us with their traditional dances, show us their houses, and tell us about their lives.
Overall we are very happy and would highly recommend booking with Meektrails and Ben especially, it is a once in a lifetime experience!

An unforgettable safari experience
We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Meektrails Safaris! Everything was seamless from start to finish. Victor, our tour operator, planned every detail with so much care and truly tailored the itinerary to our needs. We felt completely looked after even before our trip began.
Our guide, James, was simply wonderful. His knowledge about wildlife, nature, and Kenyan culture added so much depth to our safari. An unforgettable safari experience â truly exceptional from start to finish
Weâve just completed our safari with Meektrails Safari, covering Amboseli, a visit to Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, and the Masai Mara and I can honestly say this was one of the most memorable trips of my life.

Everything was perfectly planned and executed and all our needs were taken care of to the fullest and our tour guide, Joseph made sure we were always comfortable. To be honest, we felt uneasy before we booked it, as it was our first time travelling alone but our tour guide really made us feel so safe and at ease throughout. He would always keep a watch out for us and make sure we are safe when in the parks and even when outside of the car for stops on the journey.
Joseph treated us like his own family from the start, always welcoming us on every single day and making sure all our requests were taken care of. Whether it was a toilet break, or to take pictures somewhere, or even to stop at different souvenir shops, he would always accommodate our requests promptly! He was so knowledgeable about everything in the Kenyan nature, from the animals to the plants to even mountains and rivers and how they were formed. He would always encourage curiosity and taught us so much and so many interesting things about animals we didn't know. He was very understanding and sweet and he was honestly the best guide we could have asked for. His driving skills were top notch always very calm, and he always delivered on the safaris with 20 years of experience, finding even the rare animals like rhino's and cheetahs and making sure we have a complete and exciting experience.
Regarding the safari itself, it was very well planned and allowed us to explore the diversity of Kenya Landscape and animals. We did a 6 day safari starting with amboselli, then lake naivasha and lake nakuru, and then masai mara. This safari did prove to be quite fast paced and most of the days included drives, so I would recommend reducing the number of locations or increasing the number of days. All the lodges they booked for us were very comfortable to stay in, with friendly staff and amazing food.
Amboselli had the beautiful landscape of Mount kilimanjaro and very diverse wildlife in the park including lions, elephants, buffalos, zebras, impalas etc. Lake naivasha was our favorite and boat safari and walking safari there as they were truly surreal, seeing hippos up close on the boat and walking very close to animals like zebras, wildebeest, and even girrafes really made us feel like we are in the wild. Masai Mara was the most excting experience with frequently seeing lions and cheetahs as if they were just any other animal, and crocodiles on the mara river.
This was actually my wife and I's honeymoon, and Meektrails really made it feel special. A special thank you to them! They arranged special arrangements with all the hotels where our rooms had welcoming decorations and even some treats. And they even upgraded us for FREE from our original booked camp to a luxury one in Masai Mara for the occasion! This really made our honeymoon feel extra special and was so very kind of Meektrails and the Zebra camps in Masai Mara.
I highly highly recommend Meektrails as the guide if you are travelling to Kenya. You will not regret choosing them and they will truly give you an unforgettable experience! Kenya is a beautiful country and their Safari showed us the beauty of the country and made us explore so many diverse landscapes and wildlife.

Booking Experience:
I found Meektrails on SafariBookings while planning a 5-day AmboseliâNakuruâMasai Mara safari. After comparing quotes, I chose them for their fast responses, competitive pricing, flexible payments, and fully refundable cancellation policy. Paul was responsive throughout and helpful in finalising the itinerary.
Constructive feedback (reason for that one star less):
I would have appreciated stronger guidance on whether visiting three parks in five days was realistic. In hindsight, this made the trip very travel-heavy and less relaxed. More proactive communication around issuing invoices and payment receipts would have helped. While Paul was always responsive and trustworthy, the process felt a bit informal â especially when booking for Kenya for the first time.
Important Travel Reality Check:
Irrespective of what itineraries may state, our actual drive times were long: Nairobi to Amboseli took 6 hours, Amboseli to Nakuru took 9â10 hours, and Masai Mara to Nairobi took about 6 hours. We spent a significant amount of time on the road between parks, which reduced actual park time.
Arriving at Nairobi Terminal 1A was chaotic â long queues, no AC, and 2 hours at immigration. Departure was similar with multiple security checks, so allow 3 hours. Thankfully, Meektrailsâ airport transfer was smooth and reliable.
Safari Experience with Meektrails:
The next morning we were welcomed at the hotel by Paul, Jamal (our guide), and other Meektrails staff. We completed the final payment formalities and received complimentary Meektrails caps before departure. We travelled in a Toyota Land Cruiser safari vehicle that was clean and comfortable, with 6 bucket seats, built for rugged terrain, and equipped with a fridge for water and juices. There was no AC, but that honestly wasnât an issue. Tip: ask for binoculars in advance if you need them, as ours did not come with one.
Our Guide â Jamal:
Jamal truly made the trip special. With years of guiding experience and many friends across the parks, he was extremely knowledgeable, a safe and confident driver, passionate about wildlife, patient (even with our two noisy kids!), and always smiling despite the long drives. He went above and beyond, even negotiating lunch arrangements en route to a resort to keep things smooth. If you book with Meektrails, I would highly recommend requesting Jamal. Game Drives & The ParksWe visited in mid-February, meaning no wildebeest migration, but lots of offspring and easy spotting due to fewer water sources. The game drives were absolutely incredible. Each park offers something different and all exceeded expectations. Stunning landscapes, abundant wildlife and birdlife, sightings of the Big Five, and even a National Geographic-style lion hunt. Jamal knew the parks extremely well and positioned us perfectly for sightings. You simply cannot be disappointed with these parks.
Accommodation:
We stayed mostly in resorts inside the parks or very close to the gates. I would recommend staying inside or just outside park gates to maximise game drive time. On Day 1 in each park, entry formalities take some time, but after that it is much quicker. All hotels were lovely â itâs just a shame we didnât have much time to enjoy the first two, as we mostly arrived, had dinner, and slept before moving on again.
Final Thoughts & Tips for Future Travellers:
If youâre planning a Kenyan safari, stay at least 2 nights per park for a relaxed experience. Distances between parks are significant, so plan realistically. Buy a Safaricom SIM card at the airport (best coverage) with at least 10GB of data. Kenyans are incredibly warm, welcoming, and almost everyone speaks English.
Overall Verdict:
Meektrails delivered a well-organised safari with a fantastic guide and excellent wildlife experiences. The main learning for future travellers is itinerary pacing â fewer parks with more time at each would make the experience even better. Despite the long drives, the wildlife experiences were unforgettable and truly once-in-a-lifetime.
