CATS Africa - Prompt, Experienced, Reliable
5/5

When I was looking for a Safari Operator, I sent mail to couple of operators. I got a prompt response from CATS Africa (Joyce, Operations manager) with a response.
The response was specific to my trip and addressed clearly the pickup and drop places time and the schedule.
It had the full program details on places that we will visit and what is included or excluded with options for accommodation.
It also stated my hotel from where I will be picked up, The driver name. There was also an image of the van I can expect for my travel - very transparent.
Later I was asked to pay. A proper invoice was provided to me to make payment along with their Bank details. I transferred money to their bank.
I also spoke to Joyce. Joyce confirmed the receipt of money promptly.

On the day of our trip Patrick ( our very experienced guide) greeted us(Me and my son) on time.
He briefed us and offered water bottle. We had a good travel to our Hotel in Masai Mara ( Mara Sopa Lodge).
On the way we visited the Great the Great Rift Valley floor. A sight not to be missed.
Patrick shared his experiences and we had a good long conversations on various aspects of Kenya.
He was a very kind, nice, friendly and knowledgeable person.
After checking into Mara Sopa lodge, we went for our first days short Game Drive .
It was a great experience seeing the Lions, Elephants, Cheetah, Antelopes, Wildebeest, Impala, Buffalo, etc on the first day itself.
Due to his experience, Patrick was constantly communicating with his "network of people" to know to find the animals.
This is the key to the trip. On top of getting a good operator, you should be lucky to get experienced and efficient guides.
After this first days's trip we returned back to rest in Mara Sopa lodge.
I will strongly recommend Mara Sopa for families and others due to Safely, excellent food ( including Vegetarian food), hospitality.

On Day 2 we promptly started at 6:30 to do a full day drive. Patrick was constantly checking with his network to take to us key points where animals can be found.
We saw - Elephants ( a lot), lions( plenty), Hippos (in Mara River), Hyenas, Banded Mongoose, zebras , Warthog , Giraffe
Saw the beautiful mara river and the points where animals migrate. we had lunch in the middle of the forest. First time and one time experience of life.
Thanks the Sopa Lodges who packed neatly our food and passed to Patrick.

After the trip we returned to Sopa Lodges to rest for the day and had an excellent dinner.

On Day 3 we visited the Tribal village to get to know their culture and customs:- Tribal welcome dance, their houses ( with no lights), houses with shelter for animal babies, sheds for Sheep, cows,
How the fire is made even today with sticks,

After this Patrick dropped us back to hotel. Patrick was an unexpected pleasant surprise to us. Well experienced, very friendly, always jovial and most importantly had the network and connections to know where to find animals.
In short, i will strongly recommend CATS Africa for any trip in and around Nairobi. If you are lucky get Patrick to guide you. I hope CATS Africa have more experienced and good Guides like Patrick.

They stole $5000 dollars from us for our Honeymoon - Do not send them money-they will screw you over. They did not provide the safari, and did not give us our money back.

An Unbelievable Experience From Start To Finish!
5/5

From the very first message I sent to Mike, I was greeted with such professionalism and confidence that Northen Circuit Adventures would be able to make my safari experience the best to date and I wasn't left disappointed. Although I may have changed the number of people attending a good three or four times, Mike was able to address our request immediately by providing costings, requirements and equipment where needed. Planning the safari trip was so much easier having Mike on the other side making sure we got exactly what we wanted.
The safari itself couldn't have gone any better. We were extremely lucky with everything that we saw. A massive thank you to our driver and tour guide Ellias who drove for hours everyday on quite rough terrain and not only made sure we saw every animal but managed to get us as close as two metres away from animals such as elephants, lions, cheetahs and leopards the one animal I had hoped and asked to make sure we see to complete my big five on safari. Alongside this, his knowledge of and ability to spot the animals were incredible. We definitely learnt a thing or two about every animal we saw.
Our tour chef, Sweetbat, was amazing too. He spent hours every day and night preparing fantastic dishes for us three times a day. We very quickly learnt why his nickname was 'flavours' as the food he prepared was unbelievable considering the facilities and equipment he had on the various camp sites we stayed at. There wasn't one thing wrong with any of the food and not once did we feel there wasn't enough to go around us all. We were trying to persuade him to come back home with us his food was that good.
As for the camp sites, we were pleasantly surprised with the facilities we had. The tents and bedding provided were very comfortable and much better than what we were expecting especially when in the middle if the Serengeti. Toilet and showering facilities were also better than what we were expecting especially as it was the first time camping for some of us. Being able to listen to the hyenas and wildebeest as we try to sleep was an amazing experience.
Overall, this was a fantastic trip which was certainly made better by experience of Mike, Ellias and Sweetbat. I would not hesitate in using this company again and will certainly be recommending them to friends and family looking to go on safari in Tanzania.

Thanks again for an amazing experience.

Impressive trip to Murchison Falls NP - Uganda
5/5

This is our first time travelling to Africa so we were a bit nervous about the security here. However, things turned out to be very different, people in Uganda are friendly and nice. We tried to contacted a number of companies and among many that we've contacted to book the trip to Murchison Falls NP, "Home To Africa Tours and Travel" is really one of the best because of its good communications and enthusiastic support. Elias is fun and very responsive. And Paul is super professional and trustful. We had a great trip to Murchison Falls NP thanks to Home to Africa. Highly recommended.

Fantastically well organised trip with great communication through the whole experience
5/5

We organised a trip through Classic Journeys through Rwanda, Tanzania and Kenya. The trip was organised exceptionally throughout with clear communication with Charles through the whole arrangement, booking and payment processes.

On the trip the whole experience could not have been organised better with Company representatives meeting us at the airports and knowledgeable guides imparting a huge amount of information on everything from country history, culture and nature. All the company representatives seemed to genuinely care that we had the best experience possible and honestly could not have done any more for us. A special thanks must go to Cathy and Kip in Rwanda and Matthew and Charles in Kenya.

All vehicles and accommodation provided were of the highest quality, modern and comfortable.

Could not recommend Classic Journeys highly enough and we are even planning our next trip to East Africa with them in the near future.

Makasa Tanzania was the best way to do a Safari
5/5

It is difficult to know where to start with Makasa, they were so helpful with the arrangements, booking us from the time we arrived to our departure to The Tides resort. We stayed at the Kilimanjaro lodge for two nights and this was a wonderful experience. The lodge is very clean and the staff here are excellent very friendly and very professional. Our tour guide Frank was more than we could have hoped for. We spent six days with him. He was so knowledgeable about our destinations and interested us and our country (Canada). We saw so much, the beautiful Serengeti was the highlight for us. We saw so much throughout our tour. We could not have asked for more.

17 days of action packed adventure in amazing Rwanda
5/5

My name is Geoff and along with friends Anita, David and Irene we gave Rob Morely of Tailormade Africa a brief to include some hiking, kayaking, mountain biking and of course gorilla trekking. We wanted modest accommodation and told him we were also happy to camp. He rose to the challenge and we had a brilliant time. We did a multi-day hike to the source of the White Nile, a kayaking/camping trip on Lake Kivu, a mountain biking trip along the side of Lake Kivu, which was remarkably hilly!!, hiking in the Volcanoes National Park and of course spent time with a gorilla family.

We had an excellent driver and guide (Emmanuel). He was first class in every way.

Now it wouldn't be a trip to Africa if a few things didn't quite go according to the script but these were all resolved swiftly by Tailormade Africa's partners in Rwanda and so our enjoyment was not diminished and indeed we had some really good stories to take back home to the UK and Canada and share with our friends. So we can recommend Rob and Tailormade Africa without reservation.

As a group we decided to volunteer on one Saturday morning, (the last Saturday of each month), that Rwandans give to Umuganda (free work on a local project in each town/village to help improve the environment/area). This was a great experience and I would recommend it is a good way to help Rwanda in a practical way if you can fit it into your trip.

All in all it was an amazing 17 days and the smiling faces, friendliness and hospitality of the Rwandans will live long in our memories
