Perfect First-time Safari Experience!
My wife and I just returned from a wonderful trip to Kenya which included a 9-day safari to 5 different conservancies/parks and 2 days in Nairobi. Our tour operator, Across Wilderness Expedition, and especially our tour consultant, Steve, helped to make this one of the most memorable trips of our extensive worldwide travels together. Every detail was anticipated and covered, every accommodation was clean and welcoming, buffet meals were varied, fresh and well presented with many local offerings. The camps and lodges staffs could not have been friendlier. But the highest point of our safari was our guide, Joseph Mbotte, who made us feel right at home from first stepping into his Land Cruiser and every one of our 9 days together exploring the wildlife, history, culture and traditions of Kenya.
As noted on the Across Wilderness website, this 9-day itinerary is designed for seniors and it worked perfectly for us at 71 and 69 years old, but it could easily apply to anyone interested in seeing as much of the Kenyan wildlife as possible. This just worked out with our previously arranged flight schedule. The 5 conservancies, lakes and parks that we visited all provided different ecosystems, habitats and wildlife populations, and allowed us to view and document well over 100 individual species of animals and birds native to Africa. Joseph was most helpful in pointing out many of the rarer species but always made sure that we saw them ourselves before moving on.
We were interested in seeing as much of the wildlife and the country as we could in the time allotted for our safari, so we did not take advantage of the relaxing facilities of the camps/lodges like the pools and spas, but their selections of very good South African wines was a nice way to unwind at the end of the day. Also, since we are both still working, the internet connections were very good at each location and allowed us to keep up with emails from our contacts around the world.
Finally, we had 2 days to decompress in Nairobi after our safari before I returned to the US and my wife ventured on to China for a week or work. The absolute highlight of this day was our visit to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust elephant orphanage at the Nairobi National Park. Their 11am feeding is available to the public, and we were lucky enough to have a ringside seat for this hour-long session. 15 orphaned elephants under 3 years old get fed 2 bottles of milk every 3 hours. I could have stayed there all day! After, we went to the Giraffe Center and Karen Blixen House museum, which was excellent and very interesting. The next afternoon, we went to the Kenya National Museum, which was also extremely informative and well worth the time if you are in Nairobi.
All of these arrangements were made and confirmed by our tour consultant, Steve, and he communicated these details to me regularly. I could not have been more pleased with the communication by email, text or WhatsApp. This was probably the most seamless travel experience that we have had. I usually make the arrangements myself, but I am most grateful for what Steve arranged for us!

Amazing safari operator with fantastic guides, safe driving, perfect timing, and lots of fun!
I don’t think any safari could ever top this one! It exceeded all my expectations. From lion cubs and cheetah cubs to baby elephants, leopards, rhinos, and so much more! Elias and Lewis were the absolute best guides, always knowing exactly where to be at the perfect moment. They drove incredibly safely, answered every single one of our questions, and kept us laughing with their jokes. An unforgettable experience!

Papa John made a huge effort to cover the big 5/9 then took his time for specials.
Simply a great trip exceeding all my expectations!!!
After one day in Maasai Mara we already covered the big 9 with quality pictures. Still our guide tried his best to improve the experience with a breast feeding lioness and her cubs or a hunting scene with jackass and thomson gazelles.
The Lake Nakuru National Park also didn't disappoint. We got more lion cubs and black and white rhinos. Our guide John took time to share his knowledge about the many species and broaded my knowledge about the wildlife in Africa.
The great accomodation in Enkorok Mara Camp was a big surprise as our tent was very spacious and had all the comfort. We received for every meal a buffet selection, which offered something for each age, style and taste and our vehicle was always stuffed with bottled water. Aside of the beautiful pictures I take even better memories.

Excellent good value private tour for two people
There were two of us, and we had a private safari where we visited Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara, with two nights spent in the Serengeti. The accommodations were impeccable, the safari vehicle was great, and we received excellent service throughout the entire trip.
Our guide, Peter, made our safari fantastic from start to finish, and we wouldn’t have had nearly as wonderful a trip without him. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and taught us so much. He was also amazing at finding big cats.
We saw lots of animals, including the Big Five. We particularly enjoyed Tarangire and the Serengeti. Lake Manyara was not quite as exciting and felt a little small, but it offered a somewhat different landscape, which at least gave us a slightly different experience compared to the other parks.
I can wholeheartedly recommend both Migration Venture Africa and our fantastic guide, Peter!

Wonderful 4-Day Kenya Safari with Papa Johns! 🇰🇪🦁
We had a lovely 4-day safari experience in Kenya with our guide, Papa Johns!
Papa Johns was always punctual, friendly, and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the different animals we encountered and made a real effort to help us spot wildlife, especially leopard and lions. We really appreciated his dedication throughout the trip!
The only downside was that there were 8 passengers in the safari vehicle, which made it quite crowded. I ended up having to sit in the front passenger seat, where it was sometimes difficult to get a good view of the animals. I think the experience would have been much better with fewer passengers, so everyone could enjoy the game drives comfortably and have a fair chance to see the wildlife.
Overall, we still had a wonderful experience, and a big thank you to Papa Johns for his efforts and for making our trip memorable! 😊

Amazing!
The guide is the most important part of any safari, and we were fortunate to have an absolutely wonderful one! Juma was exceptional throughout the trip, always ready with answers to our questions. His driving skills were excellent, especially on the rugged roads of the Serengeti, and his patience and professionalism made the entire experience even more enjoyable. We were lucky enough to spot all of the Big Five and even witness the incredible river crossings!
A special thanks to Lissa as well for patiently answering all our questions before the trip and ensuring everything was clear and well organised. Communication was transparent, smooth, and reassuring from start to finish.

Ngorongoro Crater, the Garden of Eden on earth. Descending into this giant caldera, we met lions, rhinos, elephants and flamingos. An incredible safari experience, absolutely breathtaking.
