Jartaneas a personal, professional, knowledgeable guide, plus a great storyteller.
My friend and I did a 19 day safari through Kenya and Tanzania with a group of 10 and we were lucky to have Jartan as our group leader. We had an amazing experience seeing masses of wild animals in their native environment. Jartan's knowledge of the counties and wild animals added so much to our adventure. He took time with each of us to make sure our expectations were met. Our safari food and accommodations were beyond what we expected. Add Jartan's natural sense of humor and energy to this and you have a total package for a trip of a lifetime

Professional and great service
The tour was an incredible adventure. Our tour guide was superb. He clearly had a ton of experience, was very nice and it was fun to pass the 3 days with him.
I could have easily passed the whole week there.

Wonderful safari
When I was planning my safari trip to Kenya, I studied and received offers from many companies. In the end, I chose Africa Starpal Tours & safaris because they offered the lowest price. But this was just the case when the low price was not at the expense of quality. Africa Starpal Tours & safaris fully fulfilled all its obligations. Everything that we discussed in advance met our expectations - the route, hotels, car, national parks, absolutely everything. Everything went exactly according to plan without a single glitch. I would like to separately write a few words about our guide Morris. He was a wonderful guide. When we drove through the national parks, he really tried and looked for animals in the bushes and grass, and did not just sit and wait for someone to report something interesting on the radio. And thanks to his efforts, we were able to see almost all the animals that could be seen. We just didn’t manage to see a leopard. But, as Morris says: "This is not a zoo, and no one can give a 100% guarantee to see all the animals." But we were able to watch a whole family of 9 lions devouring a buffalo 4-5 meters from our car! I would also like to note that Morris is a very professional driver. He drove us very quickly and at the same time safely. During the entire time, there was not a single time when he created an emergency situation or missed a hole in the road in the dark. So for his skills as a guide, I give him 5+ and for his driving skills - also 5+ !!! Well, he is simply a nice person with whom you can talk, joke and laugh. Well, that's probably all. Naturally, I will recommend this company to all my friends if they decide to go on safari. Thank you guys! You are real professionals!

This is the best safari service in Tanzania—without a doubt!
Daudi is an excellent organizer, and you can be sure that with him, you’re in safe hands. We went on a three-day safari in Mikumi Park, and we didn’t expect to see so much. I'll divide my review into two parts: the experience with Asante Bibi and a review of the park itself. I believe this will be helpful, as I will also compare Mikumi to Serengeti (where we did a self-drive safari).
Why we recommend Daudi and Asante Bibi:
Everything was taken care of, and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. They put us on the fast train, picked us up, and brought us to a hotel near Mikumi. My birthday was the next day, and Daudi surprised me. While visiting a Maasai village, the Maasai unexpectedly brought out a cake and celebrated in their traditional way. It was unforgettable and felt like full cultural immersion!
Outstanding Guide: Daudi has an incredible guide in Mikumi. I noticed that other safari vehicles only had a driver with the tourists. But we had both a driver and a guide. While one drove, the other used binoculars to spot animals and birds. Thanks to this, we often reached the animals before other groups. Moreover, the guide knew the scientific names of every species—flora and fauna—had a professional education, and used a catalog to show and explain what we were seeing.
Best Choice for Bird Photography: If you love photographing birds, Asante Bibi is your best choice. For the first time, we met someone who knew so much about birds and could spot them so skillfully even while driving.
We saw the “Big 3” in Mikumi in a single day. We watched lions training their young to hunt and saw a buffalo herd driving off a pride of lions. We didn’t spot a leopard, but you need luck to see them since they hide so well. Overall, we were 100% satisfied with our trip with Asante Bibi.
Part 2: Mikumi vs. Serengeti
We also visited Serengeti during our trip, renting a Land Cruiser without a driver and doing a self-drive safari for three days. Many tourists skip Mikumi in favor of the more famous Serengeti, which is a big mistake—and here’s why:
Serengeti is Enormous: It’s huge. You’ll see large herds of thousands of impalas, zebras, or wildebeests, which is impressive. However, you quickly get used to it, and most people are actually looking for big cats and predators. This requires a lot of luck since predators are often far from the roads. During our self-drive, we noticed clusters of vehicles, which usually indicated something interesting was spotted. We also asked guides where we might find animals. Some tourists we met on their way back to the airport had been on a two-day safari and hadn’t seen any big cats at all—it’s hard to imagine their disappointment.
What We Saw in Serengeti: We were lucky to see a pride of lionesses with cubs, a cheetah, and all herbivores (except rhinos). Over three days, we searched for a leopard but never found one, nor did we see any hyenas. No one else saw them either during those days, as they were likely far from the roads.
After several days of driving on extremely rough gravel roads in Serengeti, you’ll feel much more physically tired than after a day in Mikumi.
Mikumi is Smaller but Well-Designed: Mikumi is also a large park, but it felt like the game drive roads were more thoughtfully laid out. Safari in Mikumi is less expensive, and your chances of spotting predators in less time are much higher—especially with a guide and driver like the ones from Asante Bibi. In Serengeti, you need more time, and luck plays a bigger role. While Serengeti’s massive herds are impressive, we didn’t witness any “action” there. Luck is critical in Serengeti, and we simply didn’t have enough.
We highly recommend both Asante Bibi and Mikumi. Serengeti is also worth visiting—the large herds are breathtaking—but keep in mind that it’s more expensive, more time-consuming, and more physically demanding.
