Very nice safari with well organized from Nairobi, excellent tent accomodation.
4/5

I came to Kenya first time 1980 at the age of 15 to realize a safari dream. Have returned many times and also in my language published books about the animals included many stories and photos from Kenya. Now for the first time I travelled to Amboseli that was very nice experience. The savannahs are teaming with animals and I can just imagine how it would have been some years ago when the big cats would have been more presence and also when the black rhinos existed there. Let´s hope they can return. One of the hightlights was to see so many species grassing together such as a buffalo, a hippo, sebras and wildebeest that they did one morning. I also was surprised to find some gerenuks, the giraffe anthelopes that I thought only were to be find in northern areas around Samburu.

Review about Tsavo West National Park by J C Mills Photography

3/5

Tsavo West is very scenic and typically dry African bush with the characteristic red Tsavo soil. However wildlife is harder to see here so anyone expecting a Maasai Mara wildlife experience will disappointed. The plus side is you can get an authentic African bush feel here.

Worth going for the flamingos and the setting. Avoid July -August as the only hotel here is overrun by van loads of Asian tourists giving it a package feel.

Review about Amboseli National Park by J C Mills Photography

Amboseli is all about the fantastic backdrop of Kilimanjaro and the Elephants. In high season it is very dusty. Go January to March and It will be a lot greener and full of birdlife.

Lake Nakuru - flamingo-less but still worth it
Overall rating
4/5

Lake Nakuru suffered flooding in 2012 which has had 2 negative effects; the flamingos have moved on to other rift valley lakes and many of the lakeside roads are now underwater. However new roads have been put in and there is now a large area of interesting flooded acacia forest teeming with birdlife. The park also has hard to see rhinos, scenic woodland, waterfalls, and cliff top vantage points over the lake. Good lodges on the hills overlooking the lake. worth visiting if combined with other national parks.

Relaxing day unwinding after climbing Kilimanjaro
Overall rating
4/5

We visited Arusha NP the day after climbing Kili. The journey over from Moshi, where we were based, showed us more of the region, and Arusha NP offered an un-hurried day out. Our guides took us to their favourite spots; we saw many giraffe and zebra, baboons and colobus monkeys. Best treat was seeing Flamingos in a ring 1-3 deep all around big Momela lake. The park is very scenic, especially Ngurdoto Crater, and it would be good to return to see more of it, perhaps by climbing Mt Meru. Arusha NP offers quite a contrast to the almost complete absence of wildlife on Kili!

An opportunity to submerse yourself into the iconic natural world of Africa!

The biggest highlight for me was the isolation felt within the Okavango Delta. For the entire week we were there we didn't run into any other tourists/safari companies which I have previously noticed on safari tours elsewhere. This isolation made every encounter seem incredibly more special and private and enforced the feeling that we were guests into the animals world.

Kenya has a fantastic variety of landscapes, wildlife and birdlife. Some of the popular parks and lodges can get very busy in high season but choose the time of your visit and your accommodation wisely and you will have an unforgettable safari.

Safari & beach combo
5/5

The combination of 1 week safari and 1 week Zanzibar worked well for us. Visiting Selous and Ruaha was worthwhile as they have very different scenery. Zanzibar was very relaxing after the early starts in the game parks.

Love it , Safarihub knew how to make us happy !
