A Safari to Honor My Brother’s Dream
In 2020, we lost my brother to COVID-19, which deeply affected my mother. He had always dreamed of going on a safari after the pandemic, but sadly, he never had the chance. In 2022, my other brother and I decided to fulfill his wish while also bringing some joy back into our mother’s life.
After searching for the right travel company, we found Viccation Travel, which made everything seamless and unforgettable. They planned a 10-day safari that took us through Victoria Falls, Chobe, and the Okavango Delta. We saw an incredible array of wildlife, and just being surrounded by nature helped my mother heal in ways we never expected.

Our journey began Simien Mountains in northern part of Ethiopia provided breathtaking hiking opportunities, with stunning vistas and encounters with endemic wildlife like the Gelada baboons. Our knowledgeable guide Abrham led us through the rugged terrain, making every step worthwhile.
Next we travel to visit Lalibela Rock hewn churches , where the awe-inspiring rock-hewn churches left us speechless. The spiritual ambiance and the stories shared by our guide Abrham deepened our appreciation for this UNESCO World Heritage site.
Finally we ventured into the Danakil Depression a true adventure! The otherworldly landscapes, vibrant colors, and the thrill of witnessing bubbling lava at Erta Ale were unforgettable. Camping under the stars in such a remote area was a highlight of our trip.
We returned from an incredible tour of the Omo Valley in southern part of Ethiopia , and we can't recommend it enough! Our guide Abrham was knowledgeable and passionate about the diverse cultures of the various tribes we visited, including the , Chamo lakes ,Kara Villages Hamar , Mursi , Dassanech Tribeand others. The landscapes were breathtaking, from lush valleys to stunning river views.
The highlight was definitely the traditional ceremonies we were fortunate enough to witness. The warmth and hospitality of the local people made this trip unforgettable. If you're looking for a unique cultural experience, Southern Ethiopia is a must-visit!
Finally, we explored the Bale Mountains, where tranquility reigns supreme. The chance to spot the rare Ethiopian wolf amidst pristine nature was a dream come true. The combination of comfortable accommodations and delicious local cuisine made for a perfect end to our adventure.

I had a wonderful safari. The guide took care of all our questions and needs one by one. The lodges we stayed in were great. I had a bit of trouble with hot water, but other than that, everything was excellent.

I recently had the pleasure of booking a trip to Kenya through Axis and I can confidently say it was one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized, and I couldn’t have asked for a better guide.
Our guide, Joshua, was an absolute gem. With years of experience and an in-depth knowledge of Kenya’s rich culture, wildlife, and history, Joshua made each stop not just a sightseeing experience but a deep dive into the heart of Kenya. Their passion for the country and its natural beauty was contagious, and it truly enhanced our journey.
The itinerary was perfectly crafted, allowing us to experience Kenya’s iconic landmarks — from the stunning safaris in the Maasai Mara to the breathtaking lake navaisha. The seamless logistics, from accommodations to transportation, were all handled with care, which allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the adventure without any stress.
The highlight of the trip, of course, was the wildlife encounters. Thanks to Joshua’s expertise, we were able to see Kenya’s incredible wildlife up close in a way that felt respectful and intimate, rather than rushed or commercial. The knowledge shared about animal behavior, ecosystems, and conservation efforts made the experience even more meaningful.
Overall the experience was a wonderful one and the people of Kenya are truely a gem and are very welcoming.

They went above and beyond to make each moment special!
We had an amazing experience. Julius and Micky provided some of the best hospitality my fiancé and I have ever received. This was a proposal trip and they went above and beyond to make sure every moment was special, despite challenges beyond our control (e.g., the hot air balloon companies canceling on us twice).
I’d definitely recommend working with them.

Super organized Safari trip ! It was great !
We traveled with 3 adults and 2 children (6 and 10 years).
We planned the safari at home which was very easy.
Gems of Africa planned the hole 3 day trip for us from Cape Town to Bakubung Bush Lodge.
That was including the flight to Lanseria and at the airport was the taxi driver who bring us to Bakubung .
The same driver brought us also back to the airport.
And about Bakubung, it was a very luxe stay there, including 4 safaris of 3 hours.
We were very content about this booking and we will recommend this Gems of Africa safari very much !Pleun

A highlight of our Tanzanian holiday
Our safari to Ruaha National park was a resounding success. Much of this was due to our amazing guides Winston and Onesmu. They were very knowledgeable, kind and patient, stopping to look at animals for as long as we wanted and went that extra mile for our enjoyment. The tour was definitely good value for money and I would recommend it to anyone. Our guides were very reliable, always turning up when they said they would. We stayed in a banda which was clean and had everything we needed. Meals were at a local restaurant and were very adequate. We saw fantastic different wildlife including even the rare African Painted Dog.
