Friendly crew - reliable tour operator
5/5

We went climbing Kilimanjaro on the 7-day Lemosho route with Zanzi Trekking and had a successful climb to the summit. We were happy to find that Zanzi Trekking had a budget option which allowed us to save a decent amount of money compared to other companies we looked at, while at the same time including all the necessary elements for a comfortable Kili climb. Even though we booked the trip last minute, there was no issue. Booking was easy: we made an international bank transfer and they confirmed the trip upon seeing the proof of payment. Zanzi Trekking were flexible and fast at responding. As a bonus, they threw in a couple of sleeping mats at no charge – thank you!
Justin, our main guide, was very friendly and attentive to our needs. It was clear he had our best interest at heart and wanted us to have a good experience. We were also accompanied by Lazaro, our assistant guide, a true Kilimanjaro legend who had been climbing the mountain since 1981. Together they made a very good team. Justin was great at telling stories about his many years climbing Kili and very knowledgeable about the mountain. Lazaro had an infectious positive attitude and showed great patience with us when we needed time to rest, put on an extra layer of clothes, or take pictures.
Our cook, Dastan, made some hearty and tasty dishes to keep our energy levels high during the climb. He also made sure we had something fresh (fruit/vegetables) at every meal - even on the last days on the mountain. Our porters, Kelvin, Pius, Elimokozi, Dominik, Mathew and Shedi (Shedrak), did their absolute best to keep our stuff dry even when pitching the tent in the rain. They seemed to always be in a good mood.
All in all, we had a great experience climbing Kilimanjaro with Zanzi Trekking.

Great experience - would book again!
5/5

Super Eagles was great! From the start, we booked a year in advance. Charity was easy to work with. She even let us modify the trip to our liking at that point (we added a day in the Serengheti rather than staying in a hotel the final night). Throughout the year before the trip, communication was easy. I would check in and Charity would answer my questions as best she could. Then on arrival, Gilbert picked us up at 2am from the airport and took us to our hotel (even though our safari wasn’t for another 3 days!!) and this was included! Gilbert also picked us up on Safari day and took us to the Super Eagles office where we finally met Charity and the rest of the crew. Our driver was Rhino - he was awesome and would be taking us around the next 6 days before we crossed into Tanzania. Rhino was very knowledgeable and was great at getting us close to the animals :). We had the best time!! A couple notes - we didn’t always stay in the same accommodations that were listed in the itinerary. While this wasn’t a huge downside, we wished there would have been some communication about the changes ahead of time. We like to look into where we are staying :). The accommodations were always comparable when things switched up though. Also, we didn’t book a private safari. There were 4 of us, and 2 additional adults joined us for the Kenya side of the trip. 6 was comfortable enough, but prepare to get close to one another. On the final 2 Kenya days, one additional adult was crammed in with us. While we loved meeting other people, 7 adults was really tight - and they say the van is good for 8 passengers. I would recommend 6 being the max for the ultimate experience. Again, we loved meeting the people, but we really felt bad for that 7th person on the last two days because she had to cram in with all of us. Once we crossed into Tanzania, we were with a different company that Super Eagles contracted with. It was a seamless experience. Once in Tanzania, we even reached out to Charity to modify our trip again while we were on Safari and she was able to accommodate - it was awesome! Finally, don’t forget to pickup snacks. The food isn’t always on your ideal eating schedule on all day drives (nor is it always what you might be used to lol), so I advise to bring snacks you like. There is almost always bottled water provided (but not cold). Don’t forget some sort of face scarf/mask for those dustier days :). Overall, we would use Super Eagles again. We loved all the people and safari was breathtakingly beautiful!!!

About: Uganda
The friendliest and colourful wildlife I have ever seen!
Overall rating
5/5

I went on safari with my girlfriend in Uganda in December.
It was definitely the best way to explore the animals and the landscape there. We were able to see much more and much closer to the wildlife than we expected. The accommodation met western standards and was always fine.
We would love to go again!

About: Kenya
Incredible Experience!
Overall rating
5/5

I recently traveled to Nairobi for a work trip, and added on vacation so I could go on safari for the first time. I found Earthwings Safari through Safaribookings.com, and was extremely happy with my experience! I did 3 days in Masai Mara and a day in Lake Nakuru, and both were extremely beautiful. I saw plenty of animals and generally enjoyed being in Savannah and lake regions. Kenyans are extremely nice and helpful. Make no mistake, this is a developing country so public infrastructure is not always great, but if you’re used to going off the beaten path or accept that this isn’t going to always be a fully westernized experience, and embrace where you are, you will have the absolute best time. I highly recommend and if I have the chance to go back to Kenya again for work, I will be doing this all again!

About: Tanzania
A Lion King come to life experience
Overall rating
5/5

I had my trip to Tanzania with my boyfriend in November , right in the beginning of the rainy season , but it wasn't a big deal for the Safaris
Even tough it would be raining in the city somedays because of altitude it was always sunny in the parks with a cool weather , so I liked it a lot
We booked a 3-day safari with Kilimanjaro Adventure Safari Club , D was our driver/guide/ranger
We went to Ngorongoro , Tarangire and Maynara . Each park was very different from the other so for a 3-day trip I would recommend this itinerary.
We got to see from close distance all 5 uglies and 4 of the big 5 .. Black Rhino was hard to spot and we only saw it once but from a very long distance.
About other tourism highlights I can only say about the hotel , which they had a dance and acrobatics performance every evening. We didn't go outside the hotel to the city and I wouldn't recommend it.
Also there is a very strong tipping culture everywhere wich came as a surprise for us in the beginning.
