My favorite of all the parks visited for the animals we saw everywhere, including a serval cat, and the beauty of the landscape. Many varieties of colorful birds that were easy to photograph.

I had heard there was so much wildlife congregated in the crater but felt I saw more in other parks. Maybe it was the time of year, as we visited in the winter.

Much wildlife was seen in this park as well as many birds. Not real crowded with other tourists.

I have been in SA around 20 times, in different places and I must say it is a gorgeous country which has a bad reputation oversea. But I only met good people there and I am ready to go back in a couple of weeks.

About: Tanzania
Wildlife, scenery, birding, accommodations, and safari guide all exceeded my expectations
Overall rating
5/5

During our safari, we visited the Serengeti, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire Park. All had so much to offer, wildlife, more birds than I have ever seen anywhere, and beautiful scenery. My personal favorite was the Serengeti, which means endless plains, with the acacia trees, kopjes, and so much wildlife. Our tent camp was such a delightful experience, one I shall not forget. Our knowledgeable guide was very helpful in finding so many animals, birds, and gave us plenty of time to watch and photograph the behavior of these magnificent animals. We also visited a Masai village. We were given a tour of the village by the Masai people, including their school, and living quarters, which was very interesting.

3 Days at Mikumi National Park
5/5

We booked the 3-Day-2-Nights-Mikumi-Safari just few days before starting from Zanzibar in August 2015 and had great three days at Mikumi National Park.
Abdallah was very helpful and organized everything professionally, including taxi rides to and from Zanzibar airport, flights ZNZ-DAR and DAR-ZNZ, stay at TanSwiss Lodge and offered a fair prize.

The trip of a lifetime, a company that stands for Trust and Service!
5/5

I’ve had the pleasure of using Tembo Adventure and Safari for three group trips from the US to Tanzania. The three groups involved 37 people, all of whom had a wonderful experience. We have worked with Tembo to plan for another group safari in Tanzania for May 2016. When you are responsible for thousands of dollars of people’s vacation money you want no unpleasant surprises with a tour company. What you want from a company is service and trust. Tembo is a company that I can literally trust with my life in wilds of Africa. Although the company is relatively new, their experience is vast. Their attention to detail, safety, and their ‘can do’ attitude are impeccable. Their vehicles are comfortable and well maintained, and the resorts they have recommended were all first class. They will work closely with you to tailor your trip to your interests and your budget. We have been thoroughly impressed with their knowledge of the African animals, their habits and habitats, as well as the plants, ecology, and ecosystems of the country. Living all their lives in the region gives Justin, Epimark and all their guides a deep understanding of the culture and society of Tanzania. I can highly recommend Tembo Adventures for your “trip of a lifetime”. I was so impressed with their operation that I agreed to be their point of contact in the United States. My contact information is available on their website at http://temboadventure.co.tz, and I would be happy to answer any questions or provide further information.

Trip to Lushoto and Pangani
5/5

Joseph and his team did a great job! We drove from Arusha to Lushoto, where we had a wonderful 3 1/2 hours walk through the forests with a beautiful view, especially in the end. We went for dinner in town and stayed there for the night.
The next day we drove to Pangani where we stayed for 2 more nights near the beach. We went snorkeling one day and enjoyed the beautiful beach and the amazing food.
It was a wonderful trip and the team told us a lot about the African culture and about the places we went to see :)!!

Gail at Pembury is fantastic! Our trip far exceeded our expectations!
5/5

After researching more than 60 ‘safari’ planning companies, I selected Pembury. Pembury was the most apt to design a trip ‘just the way I wanted it’ and within my budget.

I worked with Gail in planning this ‘trip of a lifetime’ for my family and she far exceeded our expectations. Gail was thorough, knowledgeable, responsive, and flexible. She’s also a great negotiator as she negotiated upgraded rooms in several of our hotels.

Our lodging in Cape Town (Radisson Blu), Sabi Sands (Cheetah Plains), White Plains (Oliver’s), and Victoria Falls (Royal Livingstone) were all 5-star. The rooms were spacious, well appointed, and comfortable. The meals at the establishments were excellent too! The Radisson and Royal Livingstone offered impressive breakfast buffets. All the meals at Cheetah Plains were incredible and even though I’ve only been home for 3 days, I’m still dreaming of their meals and their amazing setting. I bring this up because the first night we were seated at a U-shaped table surrounding a fire overlooking the wildlife in the watering hole. Chef Paul and the entire staff were the finest we’ve ever experienced. We will definitely return to Cheetah Plains and the outdoor showers were great too.

Our tour guides (especially David with Paradise Tours in Cape Town) were on-time, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about their areas. The transfers between airports and lodges were excellent too and were always on-time, easy to identify, and helpful. It made our trip easy.

We really enjoyed our Cape Peninsula tour in Cape Town, the Elephant Ride at Victoria Falls (one of my favorite experiences), and our day trip to Chobe National Park in Botswana from the Royal Livingstone. If you have the opportunity, do all three as they are certainly must do’s for any traveler.

The highlights of our trip were the animals and the people. We weren’t sure how long it would take to see such wildlife but within minutes, and even within the Cheetah Plains compound, we were seeing the Big 5. At Cheetah Plains, we saw 11 separate lions within a 2-hour period of time plus we saw Elephants, Giraffes, Cheetahs, Leopards, Rhinos, Hippos, Zebras, Monkeys, Cape Buffalo, Hippos and so on. Too many animals to name and thousands by the end of our 12-day adventure! Then the watering hole situated by the swimming pool at Cheetah Plains was a great place to watch wildlife during the day as elephants, monkeys, deer, cape buffalo, warthogs, giraffes, and so on came in for a dip and sometimes a complete mud bath spa treatment! We were so close on safari, you really didn’t even need binoculars as you were only feet away from these majestic animals.

Now in Chobe, you spend the morning on a boat ride viewing hundreds of elephants grazing and swimming, hippos, cape buffalo, crocodiles, birds, etc. which was a great addition to our safari viewing. The afternoon game drive was good too as we saw hundreds more animals but were restricted to staying on the road.

The other highlight was the people of Africa. They were so welcoming, friendly, helpful, and had the largest smiles. They won our hearts over and we will definitely be back.

Pembury’s impeccable service and attention to detail will make us repeat customers. I am a seasoned travel and due to my experience with Pembury, I will always recommend Gail and the entire team as they work magic! Thank you for exceeding our expectations and making this a true 'trip of a lifetime'.
