Meektrails goes above and beyond to make sure your Safari is great from beginning to end.
Okay let's start from the beginning. The ride from the airport did not show. I messaged Meektrails and they sent someone to pick us up. The driver they sent Tom (awesome), ended up being our driver for the time we spent in Nairobi. Meektrails was very informative and communicative, from before the time I booked with them until the end of our trip. The best part of our 7 day 6 night trip was not the animals but our guide. It was our safari guide and now part of our "Family By Choice" Robin. He was educational fun and a true professional, if you are lucky enough to get Robin as your guide consider yourself fortunate. The safari itself was magnificent, the lodging, the food and the staff at the lodges were great. In closing I want to personally thank Meektrails Safari for helping me check off my biggest lifetime bucket list item in a perfect way.

Amazing
The safari was absolutely amazing! We saw the Big Five and so many other animals, some of which were right next to the car.
Our driver, Rastaman aka Lewis, was fantastic – he always knew exactly where to get the best views and was generally very open, helpful, and friendly.
The food from our chef, Tito, was also really delicious and always fresh. The tents were also incredibly clean.
It was a fantastic experience that we would recommend to everyone!
PS: Nights in the Ngorongoro Crater are very cold, so be sure to bring warm clothing/thermal underwear.

I had a wonderful safari with our guide Kikitu who showed all the big fives and many more.
The safari was in 3 steps: Masai Mara, Narakuru, Ambolesi. Each reserve has its specialties. However for people have only few days, Masai Mara is definitely the best.

Amazing and organized
Kubwa Five did an amazing job planning and delivering our 19 day trip in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. From the very beginning, they were incredibly easy to work with and communicated clearly on our options before we booked. They provided us with all the information we needed beforehand to plan, what to pack, and answered all the questions we had. Everything on the trip itself went very smoothly - when our flight to Uganda was delayed by more than five hours, they had it covered and made sure all was taken care of.
Our guides in each country were all amazing in their own right - Charles in Uganda, Geoffrey in Kenya, and Alfa in Tanzania. Each of them were incredibly knowledgeable about their countries and answered all questions we had and engaged in interesting discussions, whether it was about the life in those countries, animals, politics, their personal experiences, etc. Each of them made us feel safe and taken care of, were always on time, and always approached each moment with a great attitude.
The trip itself was organized very well - we loved every single moment in Uganda and everything we did there, mostly the chimp and gorilla treks! Kubwa chose amazing lodges to stay in that blew our minds. Every moment was jam-packed with very diverse and amazing experiences and we loved it. Kenya was great too, and we loved all the game drives we did there, as well as the cultural interactions with the Maasai. We wish day 1 in Kenya had been planned a little differently - for example, on the first day there, Kubwa had only scheduled a 1 hour boat ride (we added on a 1 hour walking safari) and then left us at our hotel the rest of the day, but the hotel (Burch's resort) was run down, our room was filled with mosquitos, and there was not much place to relax at the resort because it was under construction and our balcony did not have any chairs on it. We wished that something else had been planned for that day (like maybe switching the bike ride in Hell's Gate NP) or that Kubwa chose a nicer luxury resort for that day since we had to pretty much spend the day in our room. The rest of Kenya was nice though and we were lucky to see the migration of the wildebeests. We were very happy to end our trip in Tanzania - although most of the scheduled program was game drives, we were feeling a little burnt out from game drives and spending so much time in the car, and we were happy to add on the hot air balloon ride in Serengeti (worth every penny) and also - Kubwa suggested we switch the last day game drive with a hunt with the Hadza tribe, and that turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip. We were grateful that they worked with us to change the itinerary so last minute.
There was one hiccup in Tanzania where the company did not tell us they switched our lodging last minute and we found out when we showed up at a different location than we were told. While the place we stayed at turned out to be better than the original tented camp, we wished Kubwa Five communicated the change beforehand. The reason for the change was because there was a sick couple at the original resort who could not check out and the place was full - something we totally would have understood if Kubwa had told us. It ended up being for the better and the office did apologize multiple times, but we just want to note this so that in the future, these types of changes are communicated to the clients beforehand. I do want to note that everything else we did was 100% by the itinerary and all of the other lodges and days went exactly as planned.
We are thankful that Kubwa chose great places for us to stay in - we did a mixture of budget, midrange, and luxury - and most places we stayed in exceeded our expectations in terms of comfort, food, and proximity to the parks.
Overall, the trip was a wonderful experience and we would definitely choose Kubwa Five again for any future trips in countries where they operate. The level of professionalism, attention to detail, and positive attitude was just above and beyond, and we are so thankful that they gave us an experience we will remember for the rest of our lives.

Amazing!!!!!
Our safari experience was absolutely incredible, largely thanks to our amazing guide. Abouh’s deep knowledge of the local wildlife and ecosystems was impressive, turning every game drive into an educational adventure. What truly set him apart was his dedication to ensuring we saw as much as possible. He went above and beyond, using his expertise to track animals and find the best viewing spots. We were able to witness some truly unforgettable moments, all thanks to his hard work and passion. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a safari experience that combines expertise with a genuine commitment to making your trip special.

Raymond was invested in his work, professional, always making sure to satisfy the group, and funny.
First, THANK YOU to Axis Safari for this amazing experience! Thanks to our guide, Raymond, we were able to see all of the big five and even the ugly five! Also, the communication with Jaqueline was perfect. She always made sure that everything was okay (through WhatsApp msg) and she made us feel so special. Raymond and Jaqueline were always making themselves helpful and available for all our needs. Thank you both for making my very first safari in Kenya such an unforgettable experience.
Second, regarding the price of the safari, it was more than affordable and very high quality, we were warmly welcomed every single time (hotels, activities...) and ate delicious dishes. As a piece of advice, I'll tell you to make sure to bring some cash with you during the safari (US Dollars or Kenyan Shillings) because some optional activities should be paid cash (visit of the Masai Mara village, walking in Crescent Island, boat ride to the Island, the visit of the Mara Lake, the bicycle ride in Hell's Gate, the gorge of Hell's Gate, etc). Also, make sure to give some tips to the different guides after each activity.
In a nutshell, it's a company that I highly recommend for doing a 5-day safari (or even less/more days) because your trip will be safe and affordable.

6 out of 5 stars! Thank you Mahmud!
We’re still absolutely blown away by our 4-day safari in July 2025, exploring Amboseli, Tsavo East, and Tsavo West. It was nothing short of magical – and the main reason for that was our incredible driver and guide, Mahmud. Honestly, if we could give 6 stars out of 5, we would – and here it is!
From the very first day, watching elephants roam beneath the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro in Amboseli, we knew we were in for something special. Mahmud’s deep knowledge of the wildlife, his incredible eye for spotting animals, his experience and his calm, warm personality turned every single moment into a highlight.
He took us off the beaten track, spotted lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and many more animals we never would have seen without him. He made sure we were always at the right place at the right time, and his explanations and stories added so much depth to what we were seeing.
The lodges were beautiful (especially Serena in Amboseli and Voi in Tsavo East), the food was great — but Mahmud was the heart of the experience. Safe, professional, endlessly kind, and clearly passionate about his country and its wildlife, he made this safari truly unforgettable.
Bottom line: If you’re planning a safari in Kenya — ask for Mahmud! We’d go again with him in a heartbeat.
Asante sana, Mahmud — thank you for showing us the real magic of Kenya! 🐘🦁🦓🌅

Local expertise with willigness to create an unforgettable experience.
Melita provided clear explanations during the Safari and we felt safe with his driving skills all the time. The accommodations were very good, specially the Suricata Boma Lodge and the tent in the Serengueti.
We would recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Tanzania for the first time.
Thank you!
