Welcoming, friendly and accomodating tour company
5/5

when we decided to climb Kilimanjaro we explored several options. After a lengthy and thorough search we found Richard Kilonzo's company. We were looking for a custom tour to fit every ones needs and he was able to accommodate us at a very reasonable cost. His services exceeded our expectations and he made special arrangements for all of us as our arrival and departure were not synchronous. The services during out climb were excellent, and the safari tour was very well organized. He personally greeted us upon arrival, departure and had a farewell dinner with us. I would highly recommend him for anybody interested in the beauty of Tanzania and neighboring countries. I will definitely contact him for my next trip to the region.

I have now been to several spots in South Africa and Botswana. I can highly recommend Botswana - particularily the Okavango, Chobe River, Moremi and Makgadikgadi Pans. Each area has its own beauty - even at the end of dry season. The wildlife is rich. Camping wild is thrilling. The people are lovely. And if you are a meat eater - Botswana has the best beef in Africa!

A tour operator that can provide adventures in whole East Africa and adjust them to your wishes.
5/5

Early February 2014 I made, together with a Swedish friend, a gorilla trip to Uganda combined with a Safari day in Lake Nakuru Game Park in Kenya. The arrangements as a whole were well carried out, especially the visits to Lake Nakuru and the trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where we saw the gorillas from a distance of 6-7 meters. We also spent two days in Kampala and half a day in the town of Nakuru.

We were provided a Toyota car with a good driver and a sidekick to him who took care of all administrations (hotels, food etc) along the trip. As a whole the accommodations were good, though we had some complaint about the hotel in Kabale where we one day went out of water for some time. But the hotel staff was friendly and did their best to minimize our situation when carrying buckets of hot water up to our rooms.

As a whole the tour company lived up more then well to our expectations. We got to see what we wanted to see, and a little more.

Exceeded all expectations on all fronts!
5/5

First time in Africa,of an older age group, travelling with my daughter and wanting to experience a Safari on a budget.Jackpot Safari fulfilled every request from price, duration, accommodation, food, number of parks to visit and animals possibly to see. The driver/guide was experienced and knowledgable, aware of where animals would be and patient enough to allow numerous photo's to be taken. He seemed to understand the animals behaviour and patterns which allowed us to see the complete Big 5 all of which crossed the road in front of our vehicle !!!! He was knowledgable in all we saw from animal life, bird life, the ever changing landscape, flora and fauna.
Our cook was efficient and obliging serving 3 meals per day all of which where delicious and most welcome after exciting and exhilarating animal viewing.
Both the guide and cook were polite and engaging adding to Safari experience.
If you are looking for a budget priced experience that doesn't skimp on things, gets you the best viewing of the animals, provides new and awe inspiring times together with hearty meals and a good laugh Jackpot Safari's are the ones to use.

Great company, great crew, amazing experience!
5/5

My mother and I went looking for a budget safari company that would allow us to see 4 parks, the Big 5 and have an amazing time at a price we could afford. Jackpot Safaris delivered on all fronts exceptionally well! The staff were friendly and beyond helpful (we had a mix up with our money transfers!) and went above and beyond our needs. We thought that being on a budget safari, certain luxuries would not be available but the food was exceptionally prepared and we didn't seem to be lacking anything that the other safari companies were offering their guests. Our guide was incredibly knowledgable and took us to all the spots where he knew the animals would be and waited there as long as we wanted to watch. We chose the camping option but were upgraded for two nights which was nice but unnecessary as the tents were sound and the mattresses and sleeping bags were adequate. Without a doubt, if you're looking for a decent, fun and enthusiastic company without paying the sky-high prices other companies are asking for, this is the company for you! Thanks to the team (especially Jeff, Omar and David) at Jackpot Safaris for a once in a lifetime experience!

Zanzibar & Safari: An amazing world, very well arranged by Makasa!
5/5

We are very content with the way our trip was organised. The company responded quickly and thought with us how to shape the program. She listened to our wishes, the result was a dream-holiday.

Our guides on both Zanzibar and on Safari were knowledgeable, friendly and flexible.
Specifically we liked Tarangire Park, Maramboi Tented Camp and MCF Kilimanjaro Lodge.
Impressed by the local food, atmosphere and people on Zanzibar, and by the rangers protecting the Rhinos in the Serengeti.

We would recommend Makasa to anyone going to Tanzania.
Thanks a lot, Selma!

Amazing Savannah and the awesome Serengeti!
5/5

A huge item on my bucket (oops! Barrel list) that got ticked off last month and it was nothing short of a dream come true. We did a 4 night trip to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater from 26th to 30th May and Imran of Safari Big 5 did a swell job of organizing the travel as per our requirements.

I have to give a special mention here to Nurdin - our very able and knowledgeable driver, who knows the Serengeti like the back of his palm. An expert driver whose passion is wildlife, he drove us around in Serengeti (it's a 14000 sq km national park, so obviously one can't cover it all) and we were absolutely lucky to sight ALL of the BIG 5, among other adorable birds and animals. And our timing was right, since the Wildebeest were also migrating towards the Mara, so the sight of thousands and thousands of Wildebeest on their migratory trail, which is considered the world's biggest wildlife spectacle, was the icing on the cake.

The African black rhino can be sighted only at Ngorongoro, and guess what?? We saw him there too in all his royalty!!

All thanks to Nurdin and his knowledge, his dedication, his humility and his work.

The Sopa Lodge at Ngorongoro was top class and the Serengeti Seronera Lodge at the Serengeti was also quite good (reviewed both separately).

Would recommend Safari Big 5 to anyone who wants to plan a trip to the amazing Savannah.

The ultimate, authentic safari you always dreamed of!
5/5

We just returned home from our week long Moriti Private Safari, I am pleased to say it exceeded our expectations in every way! The owner and guide Shaun Taylor, is a wonderful young man who has a deep knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of the bush. His care and attention to every detail made this trip a dream come true! We saw so much, learned so much, and ate so much wonderful food that the week couldn't have been any better. Our private chef, Lindsey cooked up delicious dishes at every meal, and we enjoyed her company along with Shaun and the other support staff. The accommodations were five star all the way, and I would highly recommend this company for your dream safari!

Remote Beauty
Overall rating
5/5

Once you enter the National Park, Skeleton Coast reveals a stunning beauty. You may not expect spectacular wildlife sights. We spotted only few animals – jackals, cormorants and a dead hyena. But if you stop and linger you experience the exceptional mixture of ocean, desert and history in form of shipwrecks and abandoned mining facilities. And in the northern part of the Park many plants like welwitchias colorize the desert dunes.
