Safe, Professional & Customer-oriented
I’m writing this review as we’re finishing our amazing 2-person private safari with Axis Africa and their guide Yasin, which took us through Maasai Mara, Nairobi national park and Amboseli. This was our first ever safari and our first visit to Kenya, and the organizers really made sure we have a wonderful time.
Booking experience
We wanted to have a tailor-made safari and Rita from Axis has delivered. She was super attentive, helpful with suggestions and quick to respond.
We were offered a lot of options (different levels of accommodations, different dates and various extras) that would suit each possible budget. Value for money was much better compared to other vendors we’ve got in touch with. And Rita made sure that we get exactly what we want, without trying to upsell or force something on us.
It was possible to pay the deposit (~30% of total, including full prepayment for flights to Maasai Mara) by either card or bank transfer, and Rita was always quick to provide the payment confirmation to make us comfortable.
For the final payment it was possible to pay by cash after arrival at Axis offices, but we’ve just sent a bank transfer in advance to save our time. And of course despite doing careful research we were then very glad to see that Axis is legit when their representative picked us up from the airport. It was also nice that we could trust Axis with our big luggage while we were on a safari.
Safari experience
Yasin from Axis really went above our expectations. He was exceptionally professional and devoted to the job, patient with both nature and us.
While we flew from Nairobi to Maasai Mara, he drove there to make sure that we get a proper experience and not just a random hotel guide that doesn’t care.
Yasin, with his friendly personality, has been the cornerstone of our safari, providing us with a feeling of safety, comfort and knowledgeable guidance even in the midst of some extremely up-close wildlife encounters.
Thanks to his vast experience and an excellent connection network with other guides we were always right next to the action, driving purposefully from one wildlife encounter to the other, and managing to see the full Big Five, including an elusive leopard and big rhinos.
Yasin demonstrated very deep knowledge about animals, birds and nature, providing insightful comments about all the exciting wildlife we were seeing and making us feel like in a live first-person Discovery channel documentary.
Overall impression
Booking a safari in Africa and picking a reliable company among many hundreds can be tough. We are very glad we’ve decided to go with Axis Africa, thanks to whom our significant investment of time and money has paid off in a truly once-in-a-lifetime adventure and memories we will cherish forever.

Great itinerary !
I had the chance to have a 5 days / 4 nights safari from Mombassa to Nairobi via Tsavo East, Tsavo West and Amboseli.
First of all, itinerary was promptly made by Patrick with all details clearly explained. He answered my questions quickly and we could arrange and secure the booking.
I'm leaving Kenya with wonderful memories of the parks, wildlife and friendly people thanks to a wonderful itinerary covering a lot of Kenya.
I can only warmly recomment Mateo Travel to anyone to have a smooth safari experience.

Great gorilla experience
We booked a gorilla trek in Bwindi forest with Big Apes. The transport to and from the starting point of the trek was very good, and the person picking us up did a very good job. Only point was that I asked my point of contact in the back office several times for information about hour and location to pick us up and asked several times to send out the final invoice and the permits, but did not receive that information until the evening before the trek (causing stress). In the end we did the payment settlement after the tour in a hotel where we had wifi. In the end the tour worked out very well, but communication can be improved.

I couldn’t have chosen a better one!
We had a great experience with an amazing guide who could show us lots of animals in Tarangire Nationalpark (almost all of the big five!). We could tell that our guide knows the park very well. The communication and service couldn’t have been better. I would definitely do it again especially for such a good price! I can only recommend to do a safari with Salt and Pepper Safari!

Wonderful and extremely knowledgeable experience!
We recently went on a 2-night safari with Kilipath Safari Company and had an incredible experience overall. We saw an amazing variety of animals—lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and more—and our guide, Japhet, clearly knew the best spots to visit. His knowledge of the area and the wildlife made the experience feel smooth, exciting, and safe throughout.
The accommodations and logistics were handled well, and everything felt well-organized once we were on the ground.
The only reason I’m not giving a perfect score is due to communication. When we arrived, we discovered our itinerary had been changed without any prior notice. While the changes worked out fine in the end, it would have been helpful and reassuring to be informed ahead of time.
That said, the quality of the tour itself was fantastic, and I would still recommend Kilipath to anyone looking to experience a safari in Tanzania. Just make sure to confirm the details of your itinerary before arrival.

Perfect safari tour
Thank you very much to Kihindo Tours & Safaris for a super private safari experience. The organisation was very good, the accommodation at the national park was comfortable and we had delicious food. Our guide/driver did his best to see as many animals as possible, he was very responsive to all our requests. They even arranged a special birthday surprise for us, for which we are very grateful. Value for money very good, we recommend!

Made dreams we didn’t know we had come true.
Words can’t describe how wonderful our experience was with Serengeti Wakanda Tours and Safaris. They made dreams we didn’t even know we had come true.
The entire booking process was too easy. Ushma helped us out at every step of the way. Any adjustments to the itinerary? No problem. Add an extra day? No problem. We were able to book exactly what we were looking for with no issues. She responded quickly and arranged some very nice gestures to make our honeymoon extra special.
Our guide Emanuel was the absolute best in every way possible. He took great care in ensuring our safety, comfort, and enjoyment throughout the whole trip. His knowledge of the local culture and wildlife is incredible. He got us exactly where we needed to be to get the best view. He has the eyesight of a hawk and could spot rare animals no one else saw. He was just fun to hang out with!
The accommodations just kept getting better and better! We started off at Kibo Palace where Ushma upgraded our room as a honeymoon surprise and wow, that was amazing. From there we went to Mawemawe lodge overlooking Lake Manyara. The beautiful views were complimented by the comfortable lodge.
After a long transfer/game drive day we arrived at Signature Serengeti Luxury Tents and luxury is an understatement. The tents were as far from a tent as they could be while still having a canvas roof. The wood construction was beautiful, especially at the main lodge. Sleeping to the sound of the rain, zebras, buffalo, and lions was unreal. If you’re going to add an extra night, do it in Serengeti.
Our last night was at the stunning Ngorongoro Marera Mountain View Lodge. This place was impressive! The entire lodge is a gorgeous garden where they get fresh fruits and vegetables from for meals.
The food was absolutely delicious everywhere we went. We didn’t have a single bad meal and never left hungry. Our favorite part was having lunch with the hippos in Serengeti and Ngorongoro. We’re excited to make some of the Tanzanian dishes when we get home.
We can’t wait to come back!!!
