Experienced and kind
We booked with Meru Slopes only a couple weeks before arriving. We planned and communicated via WhatsApp, which made it very easy and I was able to ask all my questions. I travelled alone with my 3 kids, so it was important to me to know I was taken care of and able to have a one to one contact.
We wanted the budget experience, not just for economic reasons, but also because we wanted to sleep in tents. Sleeping in a tent, hearing the lions roar and being greeted by a zebra in front of your tent was truly magical.
We were so lucky to receive Stanley as our guide. He accompanied us the whole time, alongside our chef Johanni, who prepared fresh food for us 3 times a day! Both of them were so friendly and I can only highly recommend them!
Stanley has the eyes of an eagle and spots animals long before you will. He knows the area so well and I often observed other guides asking for his advice. His experience and calm will help making your safari unforgettable.

Absolute local legend with lots of stories to tell!
Our safari in Tanzania was absolutely epic. Everything was perfectly organized, we didn't have to worry about a thing! They pick you up where you want, they drop you off where you want - and in between a dream takes place! Our local guide’s passion, experteese and sharp eye made every game drive exciting - the local legends and myths and stories this guy knew by heart, thats when you beginn to "get the feel" for Tanzania. Endless planes full of animals, deep fertile craters, the sun turning this old powerful landscape into gold...you need to see where our ancestors long ago where born, to understand what a priviledge (and responsibility) it is to be human. This is what makes this safari special- you can concentrate and imerce yourself in those thoughts and that atmosphere, Rafiki Tembo Tours guides you trough it and takes care of the rest. Sit back and enjoy!
Thank you for everything you have done - I will personally recommend you to anyone back at home :) !

Amazing experience
We did the 7-day, 6-night safari and the experience couldn’t have been better. We were able to see all the animals and places we wanted. The food and accommodations were perfect. Our guide Laurance was very kind and attentive. Simply unbeatable.

We couldn’t ask better
Steve gave us an amazing private tour based on our budget and our needs (that was the best offer that we received) Was really easy to communicate with him during the planning process. Our guide Chombo has been amazing, he was really helpful and very professional all the time. We spotted all the animals that we wanted to see, the emotions has been a lot!

Top service and attention from day 1- excellent safari
This is a family run business and their touch is extremely personal.
From the beginning no question was too many and nothing was pushed.
Amos answered all our questions patiently giving us pros and cons of each solution. We discussed the plan at length and even made some changes closer to the date.
He welcomed us in nairobi with his wife and also came to have lunch to say good bye
The choice of resorts was excellent and great value for money
Our crimson guide for the journey had over 30 years experience in the parks and had everything under control
This is a great company and we couldnt have been happier with our trip

Fantastic Kilimanjaro climb with this great company
This company is very good and I would book with them again without hesitating! We did the 7-day Kilimanjaro climb via the Machame route. The team was great and the atmosphere excellent. The cook also did an excellent job! The guide, Sam, was super experienced, calm and professional, so we felt we were in good hands. The three of us made it to the top, thanks to these guys! If I have to name one point of improvement, it would maybe be the communication after the booking which was somewhat limited. But the overall experience was just great!

Simply fantastic! Thank you Suricata, thank you Jumbe Frank!
We ended 5 days of superlative safari (Tarangire-Serengeti-Ngorongoro) today. It was an amazing experience. We were particularly impressed with the Serengeti National Park. Our guide Jumbe Frank took us in on Monday and made us live a dream. He accompanied, followed, initiated, instructed and pampered us on every step of the way. We experienced precious moments in tune with nature and the environment around us. We saw 4 of the big five up close and discovered the variety and beauty of Tanzania. Jumbe Frank also provided us with a lot of interesting information about the culture and traditions of this beautiful country. All the facilities proposed to us and organized by Suricata Safari welcomed us with goodwill, great hospitality and kindness. The lunch picnics in nature organized by Jumbe Frank will forever remain in our hearts and memories. Tasty food, breathtaking views and exchange of recipes. A fantastic safari, a one-time success with no problems or hiccups and lots of excitement. An unforgettable and unique experience for the whole family. We can only recommend Suricata Safari and our precious Jumbe Frank. Thank you from the bottom of our heart!

In Safari game drive you can win or loose, the Nature drives the game but Pilgrimage Safari is a win
Everything was amazing! From the beginning Joel answered to all our questions and reassured us about the organisation and the professionalism of the team.
We’ve booked a 6 days safari and I think it was the best solution.
At the arrival they coordinated our trip with another group, but everything was incredibly organised.
Every day we were seeing different places, with a lot of variation in the vegetation and in the wild life so we never got bored.
The accommodations were incredible, everything was so well organised. In the Serengeti, we had the unforgettable opportunity to sleep in a tented camp in the middle of the park, surrounded by the sounds of wildlife.
Everyone, in every place, was incredibly nice, always looking forward for our wellness, making us feel like home.
A special mention goes to our guide, Elisha. He was so professional, very good driver and really knowledgeable about wildlife, Masai culture and history. He was always trying to give us the best by looking for every animal and taking us to the best spots. It’s thanks to him if we were able to find all the Big 5.
In the end, everything was really perfect and I would really recommend this experience and this company to everyone.

Driver: unpuncture and racist behavior
My driver Sal** was late for the departure in the morning. I had to wait 25 minutes in the morning and two other guests even waited for an hour.
After the tour, on our way back to the drop off (individual lunch), the driver kept on insisted that I get off the car and walk even before arriving the final destination because there is traffic jam and he was unhappy with it. It was a 10 minutes walk. I was okay with walking but there were 3 guests out of 4, including me, who were going to the same destination.
So I told him nicely, even if I get off here, he has to go through all this traffic jam anyways, since two other people are also going to the same place and they are not willing to walk.
However he kept insisting only at me to get off the car because apparently I was the only Asian guest. He kept making gestures showing complaints, kept turning off/on the car engine, and asked “have you made up your mind to get off here?”.
He was clearly discriminative because he didn’t say anything at two other Kenyan guests who were heading to the same destination. I was very upset that the other Kenyan guests even apologized instead for his behavior on behalf of all the Kenyan people.
This has been my third safari tour in Kenya/ fifth in East Aftica and he has been the worst driver ever.
John, who was in charge of the booking was trying to be helpful and was apologetic when I called him about this issue. However, I would like to hear clear follow up measures on how you would deal with this issue and the driver.
