A very nice, funny, knowledgeable and skilled tour operator.
We had an amazing experience with Ndutu Green Explorers! From the very beginning, communication was excellent, both before and during the trip. Everything was clearly explained, we knew exactly what to expect, and whenever we had questions, someone was always available to help us.
A special mention goes to our guide, Culvert, who truly made our safari unforgettable. He was incredibly experienced, knowledgeable and friendly. He knew so much about the wildlife and always had interesting facts and stories to share. He also listened carefully to our interests and what we wanted to see, making the experience feel personal and tailored to us. We laughed a lot along the way, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable!
We felt well taken care of throughout the trip and were very happy with the service and overall experience. We would absolutely recommend Ndutu Green Explorers to anyone planning a safari in Tanzania, and if you have the opportunity, ask for Culvert as your guide. You won’t regret it!

Brilliant
We had an incredible safari trip for our honeymoon. We started in the Serengeti, and then visited Ngorongoro and Tarangire. We saw all of the big five, as well as loads of other incredible animals and birds.
Huge shout out to our guide Peter who looked after us so well. He was super knowledgable, so friendly and made the whole trip really fun.
The lodges we stayed at were great, as was the food.

Great fun
We have just finished a 5 day camping safari taking in four parks, each with a different character, and saw an amazing variety of birds and animals. Our guide was Jordan who was excellent, a skilled driver and dab hand at positioning the truck to give us the best view. He was kind and careful when one of our group needed a pharmacy. Every animal spotted was accompanied by interesting details on their lifestyle and habits. He maintained a cheerful good humour and was quick to join in a joke. In the evenings he handed over to James who prepared excellent cooked dinners over a wood fire and a hot lunch to eat in a shady spot. The campsites varied in character from a fixed campsite with a pool, to more informal open settings with randomly working shower block. Robust tents and comfortable mattresses (but they are not joking when they say take toilet roll as it is rarely seen!)
Communications beforehand were rather inflexible and clunky, you had to choose one of the fixed safaris for simple booking, but variation and questions led to a certain amount of confusion.
Overall we had a great trip and thoroughly enjoyed it

Funny and knowledgeable
We had an amazing time! Learned a lot from Martin and enjoyed seeing the animals. This was my first safari and I hope to visit again!

Friendly staff, but my safari days were changed and it turned the trip into a logistical mess
I booked a shared safari to meet other solo travelers with them, and I planned my hotels around specific safari days with more than a month in advance so the whole trip would run smoothly.
The agency changed my safari days and told me just 12 hrs before the first game drive, and that turned my tours into very long journeys. On one of the days we left before 4pm and I only reached my hotel at 9pm. I understand some guests signed up for the long journey, but I didn’t, and my plans were completely disrupted. I wish I had booked each tour separately, I had no idea that the agency wasn’t going to own up to the schedule they’ve send it.
Because of the distances and the difficulty organizing everything, the game drives took place during the hottest hours of the day, when most animals are asleep and hard to spot. If you book with them, keep this in mind and ask for confirmed dates and timings in writing.
The road from Ngorongoro is also very dangerous at night, and everyone in the vehicle was anxious at several points during the drive.
On the vehicles: the jeep on one of the game drives was quite old and the windows were very hard to open. The one in Tarangire was perfect and comfortable, so it’s a hit and miss.
The staff themselves were great and I have nothing to complain about there. My issue is with the planning and the schedule changes, not the people.

Safe, Fun and worth it!
This tour was awesome! We enjoyed fully and learned a lot. We saw 3 of the BIG 5 and we couldn’t believe it. Lunch was also delicious! I got to take a photo with the Chef! Huge shout out to Martin for leading us!

Decent company, excellent staff!
Pretty good food (looked better than other lunches we saw) and great driving and guiding from Jordan who is extremely skilled and patient!
The car could have done with more maintenance — critically working seatbelts, aircon to combat the dusty roads, and seats that aren’t beginning to fall apart. However the main thing we came for is safari, and safari we got indeed! Saw loads and loads of animals and birds, and impressively, Jordan could name them all.
Better communication and organisation would also help.
I want to emphasize that all the improvements suggested above are on the company/admin side. The staff with us throughout were amazing.
