Unforgettable Experience
My wife and I recently, Oct, 2026, returned from an unforgettable experience in South Africa and Mauritius. Our trip was planned from start to finish with Kim Wagner from Safari Online. Our experience with Kim was exceptional. I started our planning process by requesting quotes from 3 travel providers. Kim's initial response resonated with what I was looking for and I decided to proceed working with her. I am so glad we did. Kim was an excellent communicator promptly answering my many questions and constantly reassuring me of my concerns even though we were 6 hours apart.
This was our first trip to Africa and my wife was very apprehensive and concerned about going to Africa. Kim planned a 3 week trip that included Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, a Safari in Sabi Sands (Kruger Park), Cape Town, Franschhoek (wine country) and wind down on a resort in Mauritius. Once I was well into planning our trip, Kim setup a Zoom session so we could get to know each other better and further discuss the details of our trip. Kim planned the whole trip perfectly, from flights, transfers, tours, guides, hotels and even restaurant reservations. She provided a detailed, day-by-day, itinerary so we could better understand the hotels and tours that were being planned. When I was close to finalizing our trip she provided a brief video of what was planned for us. I must say the video was amazing and reflected what we actually experienced.
Prior to our trip and once every small detail was discussed and worked out, I mean every detail, Kim provided a detailed email package containing information, from suggested packing list, gratuity suggestions, city information to a detailed day-by-day itinerary of what was planned, what was included and what was excluded; she even provided access to a travel App that contained our day to day itinerary. Very thorough and helpful while on our trip.
Kim's support didn't stop once we left for our trip. Kim continued to provide prompt and detailed support, she provided boarding passes 24 hrs. before our flights and continued to promptly address any questions or issues that we encountered; her service was exemplary.
The places we visited, hotels, tours, guides and restaurants that Kim booked for us were all top notch and the service we received was exceptional.
We had an unforgettable and amazing trip; the sights we saw, the safari experience, the luxury hotels, the delicious restaurants and the people we met and become friends with made our trip one that we will never forget. My wife who was apprehensive of going to Africa and scared of going on a safari loved it!
I would highly recommend Kim Wagner and Safari Online, for your next trip. Her communication skills, understanding of her clients needs and fears, her organization and attention to detail is second to none; truly exceptional.

Amazing Safari experience！！
A huge thank you to Gilmag Safaris! I’d especially highly recommend our amazing guide Max. We were usually back at the hotel by around 4 PM every day thanks to his incredible efficiency. On our first safari day, we spotted three of the Big Five; the second day, four. We saw the cheetah on the second-to-last day, and finally tracked down the leopard on our last day to complete the full Big Five. Max was almost always among the first to spot them!
What matters most is you can truly feel his genuine passion for wildlife. During the Mara river crossing, he didn’t push forward aggressively. Instead, he found us the perfect viewing spot at a proper, respectful distance. He told us all about every animal we passed, big or small. We were so lucky to have Max with us!

excellent communication
I connected with Mimak Travel in September 2026 for a last-minute Maasai Mara trip and David worked his magic to arrange a fabulous safari. Our group was arriving in 6 days and he took care of everything. From the Nairobi hotel pickup to Wilson Airport, our lovely camp hosts and airline crew, we met many kind people on our adventure. David customized our game drives, arranged a late camp checkout, and kept in communication with our safari driver, Peter, to make sure everything ran smoothly. We saw so many animals! and Peter was a safe and knowledgeable driver out in the savannah. I appreciated the WhatsApp group chat with his staff for any questions or issues. David was incredibly resourceful when I lost my wallet hours before my flight back to the USA. While I locked my credit cards and flew 22 hours home, he spoke with our safari driver, private airline crew, taxi driver, and the camp hotel staff to look for the wallet. David was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to make all those calls and follow through while I was in the air. Mimak Travel exceeded my expectations for this spontaneous trip; I would definitely recommend! They are an incredible and hard working team. A very well organised tour
We arranged a very last minute tour through this operator and the communication was excellent with very quick responses to all of my questions via email and WhatsApp. Everything worked out perfectly, with the drivers always exactly where they said they'd be at the time they said. I normally arrange my own transport, hotels, tours, etc. But this operator took all the stress out of it and the accommodation they arranged was all very good. They were flexible- I told them what time we had and what we wanted to do and they quickly built the package based on that. The safari was excellent- we saw so many animals and a range of different scenery. It was great being a private tour as well. My only negative was that the safari guide/driver wasn't the friendliest- he spent most of the time on his phone and didn't really seem to enjoy his job. However, he done an excellent job at finding animals and was a good driver.
People were surprised how reasonable the price was given all it included.

6 day safari
We've just returned from a fantastic 6 day safari in Mara, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli. Michael helped me organise this and Lawrence was our driver/guide. They, along with James and Martin waved us off - we appreciated that personal touch along with the now well-used hat and bottles.
Organisation - as my family's official (and well practiced!) holiday planner I probably had high expectations on this aspect. Michael met these head on. He was always helpful, responsive, flexible and knowledgeable. In hindsight, some more information about the lodge choices near Lake Naivasha would have been helpful in avoiding unnecessary driving, but that aside, organisation was excellent.
I would recommend Leopard Orchid put a pack of pre-information about the safari itinerary, what to pack, entry to Kenya and clarifying guest flights, pick up/drop off location and time, and ask for medication and accessibility, dietary requirements and emergency contacts so guests can check and ensure everything is correct. It surprised me this wasn't required/sent pre-departure. Advice on tipping would also help guests.
Accomodation - we stayed in Little Zebra Mara River (thanks to an upgrade) which was 5*. Just perfect with stunning views and lodges. Kongponi Lodge near Lake Naivasha - this was too far away from the lake boat cruises so ended up extending a very long day of driving meaning we had lunch at gone 5pm. It also had shared living spaces in 2-bed cottages which we hadn't been made aware of. We were lucky they we're not busy so it wasnt used. Finally, Oilepo in Amboseli was great. Beautiful views of Kilimanjaro and a watering hole located right by a park gate.
Food - Michael made all lodges aware of our vegan diet in advance, Lawrence mentioned it again at checkin and this was well accommodated at all 3 lodges. It was a relief to have good high quality food given the very limited other options available!
Safari - the itinerary worked well and we saw a very wide variety of animals and birds which was amazing. Lawrence made sure we saw those we were most interested in (elephants galore!). He drove safely despite the very poor roads and chaotic traffic.
Driving times were always a lot longer than our original itinerary suggested, so bear this inmind - the roads are 95% bumpy tracks off the main highways. This did mean we didnt get the rest time to enjoy lodge facilities we had pencilled in. But it's better to arrive safe!
Lawrence was knowledgeable about local animals and birds and stopped regularly at suitable locations for short rest breaks. We appreciated this.
Thank you Leopard Orchid for a truly memorable 6 days. I'd recommend booking with this company to anyone wanting to make sure the £££ for your safari stays in local's hands. That was very important to us.
The driving times and road conditions are something to be aware of no matter who you book with.

Rob always went out of his way to helpful
It was as if Tailormade Africa were tailormade for us.
I was trying to organise a trip to Tanzania for 12 of us across 3 generations. Firstly, Rob was very knowledgeable about Tanzania, listened to what we wanted to do and recommended Ruaha. This was quite a sell as I'd never heard of it. Rob then described went all the options for lodges and guided us gently but surely to Ikuka - and it was perfect. But throughout, Rob was always friendly and flexible and very patient with questions about what a 7 year old grandchild might want - or not want to do.
From Ikuka we went to Zanzibar. Here Rob had a more limited knowledge but working together we found an idyllic villa on the beach and Rob arranged all the admin for us. We needed to spend one night in Dar when in transit to Ikuka and Rob recommended a hotel which we thought looked a bit corporate. But being Rob he took it on the chin and we ended up at the Protea Courtyard. The Courtyard had much more character and turned out to be a great success - and it wasn't too far from the airport. I would strongly recommend it.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Tailormade Africa. You don't get all the bells and whistles that you would with some of the larger travel companies; but then you also don't end up paying for all the things that you don't need. What we wanted was someone who was knowledgeable, flexible, pragmatic and friendly - and that's what Rob delivers.

Excellent and very knowledgeable tour guide in the safari. He was very kind and knowledgeable. Took time to explain and stop to enjoy the view and animals.
Everything went smoothly from the pick up at the hotel until the drop off in Dar es Salam.
