My girlfriend and I had an incredible trip organised by Lucy. Our guide, Sam, was excellent and truly made the safari legs special. We did a custom 10 day safari spanning Nairobi, Ol Pejeta, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli. We finished with a trip to Galu Beach on the coast, also organised by Lucy.
Communication and booking was incredibly easy, Lucy was very responsive via WhatsApp and I particularly liked that she was happy to tell me if my suggestions were no good, and offer alternatives. She actually listened to what I was asking and managed to suggest and carry out my ideas. This resulting in a competitively priced itinerary that was busy, allowed us to see a lot of Kenya, and was just amazing.
We were greeted at the airport by our guide, Sam, in a clean and comfortable safari Land Cruiser who throughout our time on safari was exemplary. He was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable, never had an issue with any requests and was happy to be lead by us, or lead himself. I cannot overstate how brilliant Sam was throughout our trip, he made it really really special, and was a big reason it was one of our favourite trips ever.

Experience of a Lifetime!
What an exceptional experience with Mountain Warriors, especially thanks to our guide, Isaya, and our representative, Helena!
From the beginning, Helena was extremely responsive, and even after payments were made, she continued to respond immediately to any questions I had. Upon arrival, Helena was there to greet us and make sure we had a smooth transition to our safari. Our trip was logistically challenging, including flights to and from Zanzibar, multiple hotels and locations over a short period, and all with two small children in tow. Helena handled these challenges perfectly, all while maintaining the kindest personality. Not only that, but the luxury hotels she selected for our package did NOT disappoint!
They say your guide can make or break your entire safari, and Isaya really made ours. He was wonderful to our family, a great and safe driver, and incredibly informative. Not only was he able to tell us so much about the animals and the land, but he also had eagle eyes, spotting even the smallest African hare hiding in the bush while driving along.
While we were fortunate enough to see all of the Big Five in just a three-day safari, we understand these are wild animals and would never have held it against our guide or safari company if we had missed any of them. However, our guide knew where to look and how to find the animals so well that I'm certain it's partially thanks to Isaya that we finally saw the elusive leopard on our last day! I used binoculars to see it, then couldn't find it again when I put them down. I actually had to look through the binoculars once more just to identify which tree my bare eyes needed to focus on to see the leopard sitting completely still. Isaya spotted it with the naked eye!
In addition, Isaya worked incredibly hard to make our trip unforgettable, putting in early mornings, driving all day, and making sure everything was in order each evening so the following day would be smooth sailing. I didn't realize that after these long days, he would also be cleaning the jeep, but sure enough, every morning we woke up to find it all tidy again. We also never had to wait long at the park gates, as we saw some others doing, because our guide was always on top of everything.
Above all of Isaya's efforts, hard work, 20/20 vision (I would have to assume!), and extensive knowledge of Tanzania, he had the most wonderful personality. Spending 12 hours a day with someone for multiple days can certainly test your patience, but there was absolutely nothing annoying or unpleasant about Isaya. Quite the opposite, in fact. I genuinely hope we've made a couple of lifelong friends in Helena and Isaya thanks to this trip.

Curated Safari Experience in Tanzania
I completed four safaris with Lazy Lion Safari during my stay in northern Tanzania. As I was working in Arusha, Koen took the time to put together a weekend schedule that allowed me to visit each of the major safari areas: Arusha National Park, Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Koen drew on his many years of experience organizing safaris in Tanzania to explain the unique attributes of each area and ensure I would have the best possible experience in each park. The drivers on my three weekend safaris were excellent, with an incredible depth of knowledge not only about the animals and birds native to each park, but also the history of the local areas and the people who live there.
The accommodation was also very well chosen. Koen has clearly built relationships with lodges he knows and has worked with previously, and each provided a comfortable place to relax, with swimming pools and restaurants on site after a day out in the vehicle.
I have so many great memories of my safaris with Lazy Lion, but some highlights include the walking safari to the giraffe in Arusha National Park, the solitude of Lake Manyara National Park, being alone amongst a herd of elephants in the trees, and seeing the ostriches of Tarangire National Park.
The best example of Koen's carefully curated approach was our visit to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. He offered two alternatives for our arrival time: a regular tourist safari start or an earlier departure that would allow us to be among the first entrants to the park. We chose the earlier option, and entering the crater at sunrise, as the crater bowl and its wildlife opened up before us, was absolutely breathtaking.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lazy Lion Safari to anyone looking for a personalized safari experience in Tanzania. Koen takes the time to listen, understand what you would like to see and draw on his many years of experience to shape and build a custom experience around your interests.

Amazingly cohesive, unforgettable safari experience and 10/10 accommodations!
My husband and I had an UNFORGETTABLE honeymoon experience in Tanzania on Safari and in Zanzibar. From the very beginning and throughout our planning experience, Nourey was exceptionally communicative and answered all of our questions. Our entire itinerary was tailored for us. Our accommodations were truly the most beautiful, comfortable and luxurious we've ever experienced. The food was FANTASTIC. Our Safari guide, John, was wonderful, knowledgeable and fun to spend time with in our safari vehicle. We really enjoyed listening to music with him as well :) when the airline lost our luggage, Lion King Adventures took care of us and retrieved our luggage. We are so grateful to Chris for doing that for us. We cannot recommend Lion King Adventures enough!!
