unfortunate experience *updated*
3/5

Update February 2nd, 2017:

The owner of the company called me with concerns about my review, so I will clarify that further.
I said the food was not good, which was too blanket a statement. There was a buffet for every meal, and most people could find something in it that appealed to them. There was always a certain amount of Indian food, as Kenya has a large East Indian population. I wouldn't go expecting gourmet offerings, but the food was satisfactory. Mark (the owner) said he eats fruits and vegetables every time he goes there, but it seemed to me like no one wanted to risk it on my trip.
As for options that cost more, I was referring to side trips that are offered if you have the time.
Another point I didn't make in my review was to be sure to bring extra cash-like at least $250. There are many things you will need it for, and they gladly take American dollars, so no need to change money.

Original review:

My experience with Odyssey started out well: I though they had good communications and returned my emails and calls promptly. Where it all fell apart was when they had a problem with the return ticket and did not give me accurate and timely information. This caused me a lot of anxiety and anger, because they were not honest and forthcoming about what was happening. It turned out fine in that I did get home, but my feelings about the trip are tainted.
The tour itself seemed to be ok, with a lot of driving and very little rest or down time. Also, the food was not good. Many of the options are not really available at all, and most cost extra money.
I would caution anyone interested in this company to be aware of every detail stated in the package, and keep a careful eye on arrival times and any changes that are made.

Africa on a platter
5/5

I spent a good two weeks in South Africa and looked after by Adventure Anywhere on safari. The staff was organized - made my experience of South Africa a pleasure. They put together nice itinerary for Kruger. Tank you!

Stand on the Roof of Africa with African Traits!
5/5

Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro has been a dream of mine for over 6 years. This January, African Traits helped make this dream a reality. I climbed the 6-day Machame route with my father and a happy, hard-working team from African Traits. My father and I could not believe how well we were taken care of during the journey! We felt cared about and safe, and had the absolute time of our lives. Our team was passionate about assuring we would make it to the summit, which was such an exciting and inexplicable feeling of accomplishment.
African Traits is an extremely personable, well communicative, unbelievably helpful tour company for Kili climbs, safaris, treks, authentic cultural experiences, and more. The owner, Godfrey Willy, makes any trip easy to book. He is reliable and professional. WHEN I come back to Tanzania (and probably climb Mt Kilimanjaro again!!!) I will definitely be using African Traits.

Great experience on Blyde River, Kruger & Panorama tour
5/5

We booked the 6-day Blyde River, Kruger & Panorama tour with Roho Ya Chui and were not disappointed. Communication was always good with quick and helpful responses before and while travelling. A great selection of lodges and local operators as well as the stunning views along the Panorama Route and the amazing wildlife of Kruger truly made this an unforgettable experience.

About: Safarihub
Amazing safari experience
5/5

We didn't book directly through Safarihub but rather a local travel company in Stockholm. However, Safarihub took care of everything while we were in Tanzania. Our Safari jeep was spacious and had a cooler. Our guide, Mabu was amazing. He made our trip memorable. He was professional, spoke English very well and was unbelievably knowledgeable. We were completely satisfied with our safari experience and if we were to go back, would probably book directly through them.

Safari fun
4/5

We were very happy with our choice of Safari Company with Africa Safari Classics. Maurice was on the ball from the start, helpful and prepared to go the extra mile in transporting a box back to Nairobi by road when we had luggage restrictions.
The guides were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The Lodges comfortable with delicious buffet meals in 2 of them. While the other had a set menu but the food was just as good.
We didn't see as much wildlife as we had expected (not without our guides trying their best). As we had been on safaris before we put it down to the time of year. Tsavo West is a great place to get bird shots.

EASY as ABC
5/5

My wife and I decided to go on a safari honeymoon after our wedding and Easy Travel & Tours really made our lives easy for us. All we had to do was to inform our account manager what we would like to do and how many days we would like to spend safari-ing and presto! Our safari itinerary is born! Besides that, the company does deliver good on their promises on quality of accommodation and boarding. The experience is all the more enhanced by our guide, who will try his best to scout for animals we would like to see. If you are still hesitant, I'd advise you to drop Easy Travel an email to enquire about your upcoming Safari experience!

“Great Trip to see the Wildlife of Uganda”
5/5

I used Wild jungle Trails Safaris to arrange a trip to Uganda in November. The highlight was to visit the gorillas at Bwindi but we were also keen to see other wildlife. We were keen to ensure the trip was not too rushed and we had time to relax after what we knew would be long journeys. Teresa was great to deal with and provided several suggested itineraries. We made a few tweaks to reflect how we would like the trip to proceed and these were all incorporated.

Our guide was Twaha and he turned out to be a terrific guide, great driver and all round good bloke. Our trip took in Kibale National Park, Bigodi Swamp, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Lake Mutanda, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Lake Bunyonyi. The wildlife highlight was undoubtedly seeing the gorillas in there natural habitat but we also got incredibly close to 7 lions on a large kill (waterbuck) in QENP. In terms of the hiking at Bwindi, it was not as demanding as we expected, although once off the main trails the going was difficult as it was muddy and steep.

The highlight in terms of accommodation was Chameleon Hill Lodge overlooking Lake Mutanda - a simply delightful place with friendly staff and fantastic food. We booked mid range accommodation but enjoyed all the places we stayed.

I can thoroughly recommended Wild Jungle Trails Safaris.
