Amazing
Our 5-day Crater Explorer Safari was an absolutely wonderful experience! Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish, which made the trip stress-free and very enjoyable.
Our guide Charles made us feel safe at all times and shared fascinating insights about the wildlife, landscapes, and culture. His expertise turned every game drive into an unforgettable adventure.
The accommodations were comfortable and well-suited for a mid-range safari. Meals were good, and every detail was taken care of so we could simply relax and enjoy the trip. The schedule was well-balanced, giving us enough time to explore the parks, admire the breathtaking scenery, and rest in between.
We saw an incredible variety of animals, including the “Big Five,” and every day brought new surprises. The Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti in particular were unforgettable highlights.
Overall, this safari exceeded all expectations. I can highly recommend Crater Explorer Safari to anyone looking for a well-organized, mid-range safari with top-notch service.

A special shoutout to our safari guide, Solomon – he was absolutely exceptional! Not only was he incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, but his ability to spot animals from what seemed like miles away was nothing short of amazing. He made every game drive exciting and insightful, and his passion for wildlife was contagious.

Rafiki Tembo really go out of their way to take great care of you on your incredible journey!
We researched several safari companies before booking with Rafiki Tembo. We chose them because of their willingness to customize our tour to our needs/wishes, their great communication, their good pricing, and positive reviews.
Rafiki Tembo is a fairly new company. They are very eager to provide excellent service and it shows! There were a few points of confusion and a couple mix ups with our itinerary but they worked quickly to resolve them and offered some extra unplanned perks like a candlelight bush dinner.
The entire team was very professional and a pleasure to interact with, especially the guides who were all very knowledgeable and easygoing. The company director checked in regularly and was quite accessible when we needed assistance or had questions.
The accommodations were well chosen and comfortable. The food was usually very good—lots of choices. The boxed bush lunches could use improvement—too much sugar, but that is probably something the lodges control.
Overall, Rafiki Tembo did an excellent job taking care of us. Safaris can be challenging. There is a lot of travel involved and switching accommodations often. It’s important to have a company that communicates well and cares about helping you along your journey. Rafiki Tembo definitely delivered for us! Asante sana, Rafiki!

Kapande Is an Excellent Tour Guide
My husband and I hired Uwanda Tours to take us around Selous National Park for 3 days. They assigned Kapande as our driver and guide. He arrived on time to pick us up from our hotel in Dar Es Salaam. He immediately explained to us what to expect on the 4 hour drive we had ahead of us. When we arrived a6 Selous he explained the remainder of the day to us and asked when we wanted lunch and asked how long we wanted to stay out. Our first day drive was very eventful. Kapande spot a lion first, so we got to enjoy him before any other vehicles arrived. We then went farther into the park and Kapande spotted another lion, again we had the lion to ourselves. He took us to out of the way places where we got to see a herd of elephants playing in a water hole. Again. We were the only vehicle there for the first 5 minutes so, we got to enjoy looking at the elephants without any other vehicles present. We saw zebras and wildebeest and a number of other animals I was amazed by Kapande's eyesight. He was able to spot animal I didn't even see. Our next day game drive was just as eventful and special. We again got to see a number of animals and managed to arrive before other vehicles for most of them. We felt as if we had the park to ourselves. The special things we got to see the second day were elephants fighting, a baby elephant that was very curious and giraffes fighting.
Our final day we did a boat safari. Kapande dropped us off and picked us back up after the boat ride was over. Kapande than took us back to Dar Es Salaam. After dropping is off, he realized has left our lunches in the truck. He turned around and came back and gave them to us. We were very impressed with how thoughtful he was.
The safari vehicle was spotless and Kapande was very knowledgeable and helpful in making sure we got to see everything we wanted to see.
I would definitely recommend Uwanda Tours and I would tell everyone to ask for Kapande as their guide.

On the ground, we were incredibly lucky to have Edward as our guide. His dedication and passion were unmatched. He was more enthusiastic and determined to spot animals than we were! Thanks to his patience and sharp eyes, we not only saw the Big 5 but also witnessed the breathtaking Great Migration up close. There were several moments where, had it not been for Edward’s determination to wait and track the herds, we would have missed extraordinary sightings. His deep knowledge, respectful attitude towards wildlife, and genuine excitement made every game drive an adventure in itself.
