Right place to get best safari deals to explore Kenya and East African countries
5/5

It was an amazing experience of the safari i took in Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru. I must say Big Times Safaris did their best to get me a good deal. Starting from the staffs and the guide absolutely tailor made as i expected. Pretty nice guest house and food near to Masai game reserve and loving Masai people. Am sure of being there again sooner or later. Many thanks to Mr. Ben and as well as Martha kind enough to help me planning my trip to Zanzibar and Tanzania. Hope to see you guys .......next time...!!!

Life affirming safari in Tanzania
5/5

Our incredible guide, Patrick, who friends enthusiastically recommended, made our trip the trip of a lifetime. Patrick is attentive and so incredibly well informed with his encyclopedic knowledge of the animals, birds, plants and places where we visited in Tarangire, Ngorongoro and the Serengeti, that we were able to enjoy every second of our one week safari. I cannot recommend Patrick enough. If you go on a trip like this, your guide can make or break your trip. Patrick's knowledge, kindness and good humor made our trip the best guided trip I have ever taken by far. Find Patrick if you want to assure a good safari in Tanzania.

Camping safari in the northern circuit
4/5

We've been in safari visiting Ngorongoro,Serengeti, and Tarangire national park.
Although the period was a little bit rainy, we had a wonderful safari experience, lots of animals spotted and a very experienced and polite guide.
Regional Tours organized everything and took care of us in a very professional way.

Great ascension to Kilimanjaro
5/5

I took the Kilimanjaro ascension in February 2009, I was already experienced about Africa but not at all about mountain hike.
I reserved with Regional Tours, and this was a good decision. I got all explanations and advice far before leaving and the guide they choose for me was very friendly and useful.
Recommended!

Zanzibar seaside stay and excursions
5/5

My girlfriend and I visited Zanzibar in 2011, and we really want to thanks all guys from Regional Tours for their kind help in planning, booking and double checking our trip to the spice island. We also had several excursions with them, we really recommend to have the "Safari Blu" one day excursion , the guide Omar was really an added value.
We really hope to come back to Zanzibar island one day or another, and always with Regional Tours.

With Spot Kenya Safaris you feel very well taken care of, we were very pleased.
5/5

It was too important to be well looked after on our first trip to Kenya. The communication was great. The safaris were well organized, the guides excellent and the driver very well. We also place emphasis on individual programs according to our expectations. What was possible was done. So one feels in a foreign country almost like home. Our expectations were exceeded and we are happy to come to the offers back when we visit Kenya again. There is still much to see and we have full confidence in the team at Spot Kenya Safaris.
We look forward to seeing you again.

Africa Expedition Support: a travel experience with the lot!
5/5

From the very first day this proved to be a well organised trip with a wonderful support team who worked hard to give us an insight into the diverse life in the countries we traversed. Driving from Cape Town to Nairobi, with a restful stopover on Zanzibar, we encountered the foods, culture, amazing animals and birdlife of our host counties. Our accommodation consisted of a variety of experiences from small camps in orchards, by the ocean and in the grounds of colonial houses, to well fitted out lakeside cabins, bush camping on the Serengeti and the luxury of tented resorts. Daily meals provided by the staff were varied and excellent with accommodations made for those with special dietary requirements. Many interesting and memorable dining opportunities presented themselves along the way and were enthusiastically embraced. A trip of this nature, over eight weeks and seven counties, and with so many diverse experiences requires constant movement but a number of rest periods were appropriately placed allowing for independent sightseeing or catching up on personal chores. These breaks also allowed for an ordering of the sensory overload that is Africa. Our experience with Africa Expedition Support was wonderful and one we would strongly commend to those wishing an upfront and personal experience of not only the nature reserves of Africa but of its daily activities.

Very Successful Tour by a great operator
5/5

I joined the fixed date birdingpal tour of 6 people from January 24 to February 7 2014. It was a truly memorable trip. Apart from all the birds and wildlife, Uganda is a beautiful country. The group gelled really well, and lots of fun was had along the way. Deo and Robert were not only great guides, they were great hosts. The value of the fixed date tour is extraordinarily good, as everything is supplied. You only need a little cash for guide tips, alcohol and snacks, plus souvenirs.

LOGISTICS
Pre-tour, Deo's communications were prompt, clear, and informative, giving me great confidence that I was booking a trip with a competent organisation. Deo, an accomplished birder, accompanied us on the whole trip, along with specialist bird guide Robert. In addition to this, we were accompanied by armed park rangers and security on our treks in the National Parks, as well as specialist guides in places. Accommodation was from basic (Mburo) to comfortable, with ensuite bathrooms in all but the raised, covered tents at Lake Mburo NP. All were clean. Transport was by pop-top 4WD Minibus, over roads which were rough in places, but there were no dramas, and almost all driving was done in daylight hours. Meals were healthy, though not particularly memorable, though there was great food at Nyanz'Ibiri Eco Camp. Luxuries Forget about free wifi most of the time, expect power outages, and warm beer at times. Deo's mobile internet was available in case of need.

THE TOUR
Entebbe, Mabamba Shoebill boat trip, Lake Mburo NP, Bwindi Impenetrable NP; (Ruhiija and Buhoma), Queen Elizabeth NP, Nyanz'Ibiri Eco Camp and School Visit, Semilki Forest, Kibale Forest, Royal Mile, Entebbe. if you log into your google account, you can see this annotated map of this tour

BIRDING
That is what the tour was all about, and the birds were delivered relentlessly. Both Deo and Robert proved to have excellent knowledge of where to find birds. They also have great tracking and identification skills. Robert's skill in finding birds in the rainforest gloom was exceptional. My tally was 444 different species and a further 12 heard. The total group list would be higher. To see that number in the 15 days requires some dedication, and only fleeting glimpses of some birds were made, especially in the rainforests. Our guides were very keen to make sure that we saw as many of the birds as possible. Deo and Robert were genuinely excited when a rare bird was spotted and gave crippling views, possibly more excited than the group. The Long-tailed Cisticola springs to mind. Highlights for me were the Touracos, Trogons and Sunbirds, and the sheer diversity of birds on our walks in Bwindi, where we managed to see 15 of the endemics and hear another.

COMMUNITY and PEOPLE
The school that Deo supports is very needy, and the donations of school materials were very well received. We walked away thinking that so much more could be done. The Ugandans are very friendly and positive people, and I always felt completely safe. Uganda is a beautiful rich country, but corruption seemingly means that funds do not get where they should.

OVERALL
I thoroughly recommend Uganda Ecotours, and hope to go back one day and see the parts of the country I missed out on, and maybe some of the birds as well.
