Communicative, responding quickly, flexible
4/5

We really enjoyed safari with Ngalawa. It has also been very first experience for my partner, so he enjoyed even more. The company picked us up in front of the hotel where we stayed on agreed time. We travelled only in 2, so we had the whole car for ourselves which was really good when it comes to game viewing. The option we have selected was the combination of boat trip, walking safari and game drive which was perfect for person who never been to safari before. Service in the camp was amazing, all the time meals and snacks ready, rooms were clean. Our driver Leonard was trying his best to show us around and get us to best places to spot animals.
So if you want to enjoy safari in the reasonable distance from the capital, combine few options to experience, I would really recommend this one.

Review about Lake Nakuru National Park by Andrea Meroi
Overall rating
4/5

Lake Nakuru is slightly decadent since flood deprived of its most important attraction, the flamingos. However, it was there where we saw more and better zebras and where we could get off, well guarded by rangers, and closer to zebras and flamingos themselves remaining in the Lake. Beautiful.

About: Swaziland
A really exotic experience in a country that deserves more recognition.

I was really pleased by my discover of the Swaziland. I love to walk across the Mlilwane wildlife sanctuary. It was a really implying day, during this visit i could see beautiful landscapes and admire wild animals living in half-liberty. It was so beautiful that i forgot the sense of the time.

We also visit some factories (candles, glassware,....) where you could buy nice creations. Original and satisfying for most of european travelers.

People in Swaziland are welcoming us very well and i recommend you to try to speak with them. They could learn you a lot about their country and their culture.

Firstly, Moonstroll is a booking agency, it subcontracts the actual safari operators. We had a wild week with our experienced guide and his friendly and efficient crew, saw a massive amount of animals up close. Maybe a bit too close: on included Chobe boat tour the boat operator said many tourists want to see animals react, eg. do mock attacks. In my opinion you're already too close if that happens - especially on purpose. But yeah we saw lots! A couple of incidents we could have done without and also we did not have satellite or vhf communications backup which caused needless anxiety but other than that a fun and definitely memorable trip. Food and camp equipment were good. Suggest discussing matters thoroughly beforehand so you know who and what you will be going into the bush with. Weather was great but very hot.

Good service , some details to improve
4/5

The tour was well organized ;

We paid one of the cheapest prices in the market and get almost same service than more expensive ones ;

To improve smal things like the chairs for dinner / breakfast ; there were the cheapest one and not to confortable and definitely get better ones won’t be so good expensive (for some reason we always ate the last ones , no problem but don’t know why )

Tents were ok
Food really nice
Tours guides very profesional lots of knowledge

Just make sure your days are group are not going to be changed last minute ,

I didn’t happen in our company but happens a lots and is always better start with then small park and finish with the best one ;

Definitely recommend company and Margaret is amazing :)

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience.
4/5

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience. It was our first time that we went to Tanzania and Zanzibar. The accommodations, the food, the great friendliness and service were heartwarming. We have been with Travelbird, everything was perfectly arranged. Worth repeating. Thanks to Eric, our wonderful guide!

Review about Phinda Game Reserve by Jayhawk80
Overall rating
4/5

A larger than average Game Reserve and a more "natural" safari experience than smaller game reserves or road side attractions.

Great option for your FIRST safari

Since South Africa has largely confined its large "safari" animals, there are three primary venues to see them.

Roadside Attractions - ranging from wineries to rehabilitation facilities these are very small, but intimate viewing options, but not pristine or very natural. We preferred the rehabilitation facilities since it seemed "less exploitive."

Small to Mid-sized Game Reserves - These offer a wider range of animals and relatively consistent viewing opportunities since the facility had a limited expanse of fenced-in land, along with a fairly natural environment. In terms of "seeing animals," these may offer the best "bang for the buck."

National Parks - These offer vast acres of land and the opportunity to see animals in their most natural setting. Of course, the large expanse may also mean less frequent sightings, but those sighting might be considered the "most authentic" of the three options.

Zulu-Nyala is a smaller game reserve, plenty of sightings, reasonably natural with enough other nearby options to keep the week fully occupied. We felt it offered what we wanted, a daily opportunity to regularly see the animals consistently, thus a solid "first-time" or "only" safari experience.
