Perfect From the start to the end with Fikiria Tanzania Safaris
4/5

First, we arrived in Tanzania without stress as we had a lot of email exchange with the company. Sales and Guest Relationship Manager working so professional each time I had a question, the answer came within hour.
At the airport, our guide was waiting for us. We were 4 friends and we had a single bus for us. Jackson is a very skilled driver. We always felt very safe. The man has lot of explanations to give about the country, about the animals, about nature. He is also able to understand when you don't want to speak or when you want to rest. We booked 5 days Safari with them, we visited the famous Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Park, During this trip I felt as a real good. No hurry and the bush was truly ours. The accommodations were selected with care and our guide was very patient and cared about our wishes. Even vegetarians, as I am, can eat in such a luxurious way, delicious!
Being one with nature is a gift and traveling with Fikiria Tanzania Safaris a welcome extra present

Great Safari Experience on a Budget!
4/5

For the price that my group paid, this was a great way to experience a safari in a decent amount of time. Our tour experience was 2 days 1 night and we saw everything we wanted to see within that time frame. This tour exceeded my expectations with the amount of quality service that was provided for us during our time. My group booked the tour 3 days before we actually went and the company organized everything efficiently, which was nice especially since it was short notice. Highly recommend!

Thrilling experience in the Okavango Delta and Moremi
4/5

Xaa Safaris provides a good services for people who cannot afford luxury safaris. Keni, the local guide in the Okavango Delta, is local person who knows how to take advantage of what the Okavango Delta can offer. He is a bush man who is very well equipped with knowledge and ability to show you the best of the Delta. Smart and friendly knows where one can spot wildlife such as elephants, zebras, kunus, lions...However, Xaa Safaris has to improve training to its chefs to better cook meals and to the general guide to be more sensitive to visitors´ needs and interests. I recommend Xaa Safaris for those who are willing to walk and chase wild beasts and to really get to what Okavango and Moremi are about: nature in its pure manifestation!

Tanzania’s southern parks at the end of the rainy season

I had been already twice in Tanzania but never visited the southern NP. Great experience, very few people, nice scenarios and a green landscape since we were there just when the rainy season was ending.

We did a wondeful holiday with this company, thoughtful and well organized. The reservation of the safari was very easy with Martha.
The team has been careful from the moment we landed at Kilimanjaro Airport. Always helpful and flexible.

We enjoyed 5 marvellous safari days with Franky (the best guide in Tanzania - eagle's eyes :))

Also the accomodation they chose were fantastic with a wonderful view and service!

A unique experience - with a team that pampers you in the middle of a wonderful nature!

Ahsante sana!!!

About: Kenya
Fantastic

4/5

We really enjoyed the whole trip! We saw so many animals! This included a lot of big cats which are my favorite. All the people there were nice and the entire trip had a good vibe. The tent camps as well as the lodges were great! Clean and fantastic settings. Charles our guide from Classic Journeys was great as well. He knew the area and the animals and was always aiming to please. We had hesitated to book a trip on line and with a company not based in the US but everything went smoothly. The only thing I would change are the roads! Even the main roads are very very rutted and hard to travel. Doing it again I would fly between parks where it was feasible instead of driving. I have done both ways and flying is the way to go. I suggest going to Kenya to everyone I know. It is one of my favorite places in the world. I miss all the animals and the kind people!!!

A memorable prep into the wild beasts of the maasai mara
4/5

My wife and I had a wonderful outing into the maasai anchored by Karibu Safari. We're picked up very early in the morning from our accommodation.

We also had a nice drive to the maasai (safe for the part of the road that is very bad-- this is government responsibility though). We got to the maasai a bit late on the first day because Sammy, our great driver, had to fix something in the bus while we ate lunch.

Regarding our game experience, Sammy was no doubt a very experienced driver and tour guide. Because we got there late on day 1, we could only see very few animals. However, his experience as a tour person and wildlife 'hunter' came to fore on the second day. We saw many of the important animals: lion, buffalo, leopard, elephants, hyena, antelope, zebras, and several others. My wife and I really enjoyed the search for animals and the whole maasai mara experience.

Lunch and dinner are great. It's a buffet arrangement where you have to serve yourself (except for the lunch on the second day which is packed because we have to eat inside the reserve).

Accommodation is also acceptable and represent a good value for money paid. Light is on from around 6-6.30pm and goes off by 10pm. It is on again in the morning around 5-5.30am and off around 7am. This is not so bad for us. The only reservation I had is that the link sent to me by the Karibu Safari indicated that we'd be staying at MaraSpring safari camp. Information on the link also stated that there would be solar-powered 24 hours electricity. See http://www.mountainrockkenya.com/marasprings/ But like I said, this did not in any way reduce the fun that we had. The organisers can be more specific in the future though.

Going forward, Karibu Safari's organisers should provide adequate information and advice in certain areas before the commencement of the trip. Two areas affected my wife and I. First, we didn't have sufficient advice about exchanging money. One of the reviews I read about KS on tripadvisor is that if you're paying in dollars and you don't have the exact change, you might be made to pay more than necessary. This was the reason I asked the KS organisers of I could pay in Kenyan shillings. For the sake of next time, kindly advise your clients that money exchanging facility will be available at the park before driving to the destination. In order to pay the exact amount, I exchanged the money with me at one of the malls. However, I was told that I was given a lower exchange rate at that mall (ksh 98/$1 instead of ksh 100. Even though, the exchange rate by the time we went elsewhere was ksh 99.3 to $1). So, I had to pay more than necessary. A clear information that exchange facility will be available at the take off point will guide against this.

Secondly, since we're picked up from our accommodation on Monday, I was thinking we'd also be dropped off at our accommodation. Unfortunately, no one said anything about this. I was going to Langata area but I was eventually dropped off around the city centre. It took us over 2 hours to return to Langata. For future trips, kindly advise clients/tourists on return transportation to their destination. My expectation was that the driver would ask us for our destinations so that he could drop us off at the closest points. This was not done. I didn't know the right place to come down. It turned out eventually that we had already passed somewhere very close to Langata before going to the city centre. We practically had to take a cab back to where the bus already took us through. Please, try to avoid this in the future.

Overall, we had a nice experience on this safari. Thank to Sammy and thank you KS.
