This trip was exactly what we were looking for. Someone to take care of all the logistics and an incredibly guide to take us along the way. We still talk about this part of the trip and our guide.

Bwindi Gorilla Trekking 3 Days
4/5

We went to a Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest. Our guide Chris provided us with a very good service. He picked us up (we were 3 people) in Kigali and drove us directly to the Ichumbi lodge, where we stayed the night before and after the trekking. On the way he organised and pre-ordered lunch for us in a hotel on the way (there were three menu options, one of them vegetarian) and he organised everything at the border from Rwanda to Uganda and made sure we did not have to stand in long queues. Along the way he knew the best places to take a beautiful picture, and he would tell us interesting facts about country and culture every now and then. He is a good driver and comfortable to be around. The lodge was lovely; nice location, perfect service, good food.
At the day of the trekking we were brought to a different zone of the national park than we had booked. We think this was probably because February is low season, so they put the tourists from two neighboring zones together to make a complete group. So it was a 1 hour drive in the morning to where the trekking started, but we did not mind because the sunrise was stunning, with mist hanging between the mountains. So Chris patiently stopped the car and I could take one of my favourite pictures of the trip.

We were lucky on the trekking and found the gorillas after about 1.5h. It’s an incredible experience. The rangers also make sure that everybody gets a good spot to watch the gorillas and they’ll take a pic for you if you ask.

Over all we are all very happy with the trip, and we always felt save and well looked after with Chris on our side, patiently answering any questions, looking after us and being a good “host”.

Tanzania is beautiful
4/5

Our safari, organized by Magda and her colleaques was amazing and our guide, Hosea, had a lot of knowledge and has a lot of respect for people and animals. All the way top!
Unfortunately, it was one, of te by us booked, lodges do not meet the requirements and that was very unfortunate. Fortunately, we had her only at the end of our safari trip suffers from.
Magda is constructive critical eye on its staff and the accommodation that they book, so we assume that this is not going to occur. We look back on a wonderful journey!

That was amazing!
4/5

This was our first experience on safari. Everything was great. We met at the airport, placed in the hotel. In the evening came, Hillari, we paid main amount for safari. He asked our preferences in food, when my wife learned that cook can cook separately for her food without gluten, she was very happy! Was one confusion with paying, in the contract not mentioned on the amount of a tip for guide, they were fixed, 10$ with person per day. I think you need it to write in the contract! In our country tips are not mandatory and fixed. But guide the Mandela and cook Salim, great fulfilled his work and very tried, so we were pleased to pay a tip! We really liked it, we will recommend to our friends! The price is very good.

The crew made a good job. John was cooking very delicious. We had great views to the most animals, only Leopard was missing.
Rose and Charles in the office made a good job too.

We rent cars at Shoebill Safaries to reach different places in Uganda.
4/5

We are running a little project with school fees. Every two years we visit Uganda to meet our beneficiaries, look around the schools, discuss with the teachers, and meet our partner.
To reach all these places and to be independent from the puplic transport system with all its problems we need strong and reliable cars. We found such cars at Shoebill Safaris. We haven´t had any trouble during this time in Uganda, neither in the City of Kampala nor at any other place.
We are looking forward to contact Shoebill Safaris again, whenever we return to Uganda.

The wildlife was magnificent, exciting to see the animals so close up

The safari worked so well as all the arrangements are in place so accommodation ,food transport were fine . Some of the tracks were rough but that is Kenya! The guide was an excellent spotter & pointed out the animals well before we saw them & also explained about their social way of living. The highlights were the elephant groups & their interaction.

A good value for money ratio, nothing more

The accomodation was ok, apart from the mosquito nets full of holes, totally inefficient. The food was good! The first guide we had didn't stop long enough to observe the animals quietly, hardly ever turned off the engine of the van, and was all the time busy with the radio (which is good to spot the animals and share with the other vans, but not all day long!! Very noisy! ) The second guide was much calmer, gave many explanations and showed an interest in sharing his incredible knowledge!
We did a marathon game drive (not as planned) a full day instead of splitting on two days (as planned) with an early morning game drive the second one, which would have been less exhausting, less haste and hence more enjoyable (and also, I suspect the objective of the agency was to save the entrance fee just for one morning; the entrance fee is valid 24 hours)
Although it is written down in black and white, the programme is "flexible", which has both advantages and disadvantages.
At the end we took a bus with a company (Tahmed) partner of the agency: very bad experience: the staffmember on board (not the driver) was very rude after I said I didn't need a taxi at the arrival, and kept looking at my daughter (23) as if she was a piece of meat! Very unpleasant!
Otherwise, it's pretty well organised, the staff on the camp sites are really sweet and quick to react to meet your needs.
