A special thank you to our driver, Yassy, who was with us throughout the entire trip. His driving skills were truly impressive, and you could really tell that he was an experienced and professional safari driver. We always felt safe and comfortable with him, and thanks to his knowledge and skills, we were able to see so many incredible and unforgettable moments with the animals. It was an experience we will never forget.
We were also lucky to have such a great group. Everyone was friendly, kind, and fun, and we were really happy that we chose a group safari.
The tour was very well organized. They even adjusted our breakfast time to fit our safari schedule and communicated well with the hotel, which made everything very smooth and convenient.
We stayed at Marachui Resort Hotel. The staff were very kind and helpful, and the facilities were good. However, there were a lot of large Chinese tour groups staying there, so it was quite lively and noisy most of the time. If you prefer a quieter and more peaceful atmosphere, you may want to consider staying somewhere else.
We booked the safari through WhatsApp, and the staff were always quick to respond to our questions, which was very helpful.
Overall, we were extremely happy with the safari and had such a memorable experience. We are very grateful to everyone involved, especially our driver Yassy, for making this trip so special.

Amazing, trustworthy, ethical, safe
We really can’t recommend Kalulu Safaris enough. We actually found Amaniel and his company in a pretty stressful situation after the safari company we originally booked with fell through at the last minute. We were already in East Africa on our honeymoon and suddenly had to figure out a completely new safari with almost no notice, in Africa for the first time with limited cell service.
From the beginning, Amaniel was so responsive and patient with us. He took the time to ensure us we were in good hands, even taking the time to share the company’s license & registration info because we were so apprehensive after what had happened with the previous company. We basically told him what had happened, what our budget was, and what we were hoping to get out of the safari, and he worked with us to put together something that still felt really special without blowing our budget. We also had some issues figuring out payment while traveling, and he was incredibly patient while we sorted all of that out.
The part that really stood out to us was how much thought he put into everything, especially considering how last-minute it all was. The lodges they picked were great, and Amaniel had contacted several of them beforehand to tell them we were on our honeymoon. We ended up walking into decorated rooms and little honeymoon surprises along the way, which was such a nice touch and something we defintely weren’t expecting. Amaniel’s planning went so smoothly to where we were able to just walk into each of our planned lodgings. He was also very transparent - he let us know ahead of time exactly which lodges he was able to book. There was one lodge that had to be changed due to availability issues and he immediately let us know, before we started figuring out the payment. There were no hidden costs, unexpected changes or asking us to pay for extra things.
Also a huge shoutout to our guide Ruben. He was such a big part of what made the safari so enjoyable for us. He was friendly, easy to talk to, patient, and clearly knew what he was doing out there. He did a great job finding wildlife, answering all of our questions, and making sure we actually had time to enjoy what we were seeing instead of just rushing from place to place. Spending that much time in a safari vehicle with someone can really make or break the experience, and we were really glad we had Ruben with us. Both Amaniel and Ruben spent a significant amount of time seeking out special animal sightings for us. On some days I thought we were done because we had been out for so long, and rather than just dropping us off they still went out of their way to find more animals & create memories for us on the way back to camp. At one point they even dropped us off at camp, then rushed back to pick us up again because they saw a pair of lions feasting while they were on their way to their own lodging. We had a close & personal encounter with the lions that we would later hear roaring through the night right outside our camp. It seemed like both amaniel and Ruben were just as excited as we were & didn’t get tired of touring us around, day after day. They are both Tanzanian locals and seemed so proud and happy to host us in their country and have us experience the Tanzanian way of life, hospitality, food and scenery for the first time. They thought of all the little things, like making sure we had our favorite drinks always in stock. There was one night where we decided at the last minute to book a hot air balloon for the following morning, after we had unloaded our personal items from the car for the night, and we realized we had left our binoculars in the car. We didn’t want to trouble them with going in the car & coming back to our camp for this so we didn’t say anything. When the balloon operator picked us up the next morning (a different company our guide booked us with), our binoculars were in his car! He said our guides dropped it off to him. This must have been sometime in the late hours as we were picked up at 4AM. So thoughtful & nice of them.
Everything felt really relaxed and flexible. We had time to sit and watch the animals, ask questions, stop when something interesting was happening, and just enjoy being there. It never felt overly scheduled or like we were being pushed through an itinerary.
Honestly, after everything that had happened with our original safari company, it was incredible that once we started the trip with Kalulu, we pretty much stopped thinking about all of it. We were just having fun and enjoying our honeymoon again.
We’re really grateful we found Kalulu when we did. Something that started as a huge catastrophes & felt like our honeymoon was ruined ended up becoming the best trip we’ve ever taken. They were incredibly patient with us as we navigated that stressful experience and completely turned it around. If/when we come back to Tanzania for another safari, we would absolutley use them again.

Perfect 5-Day Tanzania Safari: Great Itinerary & Stays, Thanks to our tour guide Michael Stunner
We joined this Tanzanian tour operator for a five-day, four-night safari covering the Serengeti and Ngorongoro. The itinerary was excellent and the accommodation was very satisfying—everything went smoothly and we enjoyed it very much. A special thank you to our guide, Michael Stunner. He was professional, experienced, patient, and full of passion. He proactively asked us which animals we most wanted to see and worked hard throughout the trip to make it happen. We saw all of the Big Five up close, including the very rare black rhino. To our surprise and delight, we also saw lion cubs and cheetah cubs, and witnessed the breathtaking Great Migration. Every wish was fulfilled and we saw everything we wanted—our African trip was truly complete with no regrets. Highly recommended!

Wonderful Safari with Wagatil Safaris
We had an absolutely amazing 4-day safari with Wagatil Safaris, including gorilla trekking in Biwindi and chimpanzee trekking in Kibale. From start to finish, everything was very well organized, and the whole experience was smooth, comfortable, and unforgettable.
The team at Wagatil Safaris was professional, friendly, and attentive to every detail (huge thank you to Pretty 🙌 - amazing customer service!) . Our guide for the full trip, Roland, was so kind, knowledgeable , helpful, and made the journey even more enjoyable by sharing interesting information about the wildlife - in particular Gorillas and their behaviors , nature, and local area.
The gorilla trekking in Bwindi was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and the chimpanzee trekking in Kibale was equally incredible. Being so close to these amazing animals was something we will never forget.
