Malindi Tsavo Amboseli
We booked our Safari through Henry who organised the tented camps we wished to stay in for the ever changing number of guests we had! As no one could make up their mind. Patience of a saint. We organised drivers as we had to travel from one National Park to another, but you could use the camp guides if preferred or you are staying in one camp for your trip and they probably know where the game is, as working there every day. Camps inside your chosen park work well as you can stay in the parks longer before they close at 6pm. So if you are staying outside a park you might want to have a whole day in, with a picnic to see the most of it, often it takes 1.5hrs to get to the centres where the game is, especially if just a short stay like we had. Also it’s very important to get new Safari 4x4s with lifting tops not open sides. With USB charging points as your phones will go flat over a full day. Your guide’s if not camp guides are key, they will be showing you all the key spots and talking about the habitat and animals, check out if they are a qualified guides or trackers. Safari bookings were great and if you follow these tips you will have a wonderful trip which ever safari park you visit. Tsavo East was a huge savannah with much ground to cover but most of the game and elephant is along the Galana river. Amboseli is much smaller, with its lakes and flat marsh, provides for hippo and elephant and most species of antelope. We didn’t see Lion in Amboseli but caught a glimpse of Hyena but the wading birds are beautiful and a wide range of species with flamingo and pelican amongst the hippo if your a birder. Our camp Discovery Camp delightful and simple with a fire pit and pool and importantly owned and run by local Kenyans inside the park for early or night game drives.

"Our 4-day safari in the Serengeti was an incredible experience! We saw an abundance of wildlife, including cheetahs, hyenas, and over 100 elephants. Our guide, Danny, was knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
• Spotting a leopard in a tree
• Enjoying stunning African sunsets

We felt scammed
If you’re considering this operator, think twice. Since July 2025, I’ve been chasing them to get back my $6,700, but all I’ve received are empty promises that never materialize. I even hired someone to investigate the company, and it turns out their office in Arusha doesn’t exist. They’ve also refused to cooperate with the court case. If you don’t want your trip ruined, look for another operator.
It’s a traumatic experience to hire an operator here in safari booking.

4 Day Safari
We just returned from a 4-day safari with Tanzania Roadside Safari, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about the entire experience. From start to finish, everything was seamless, exciting, and beyond what we hoped for.
Our itinerary took us through the stunning landscapes of Tarangire National Park, the vast plains of the Serengeti, and the breathtaking beauty of the Ngorongoro Crater. Each destination was unique and full of incredible wildlife sightings — from elephants and lions to cheetahs, hippos, and even a leopard!
The accommodation throughout the trip was absolutely amazing. Each lodge and camp was comfortable, beautifully located, and well-appointed, providing the perfect balance of luxury and immersion in nature. What truly surprised us was the quality of the food — it was well beyond our expectations. Every meal was fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared. Definitely not what you’d expect in the middle of the bush!
But what truly made this trip unforgettable was our guide, Steven. He was exceptionally knowledgeable, sharing fascinating insights about the animals, parks, and Tanzanian culture. More than that, he was incredibly accommodating, patient, and attentive to our needs throughout the journey. You can tell he has a real passion for what he does — and it showed every single day. Steven really made this trip what it was, and we feel lucky to have had him as our guide.
If you’re considering a safari in Tanzania, do not hesitate to book with Tanzania Roadside Safari. It was the trip of a lifetime, and we’re already dreaming of coming back!

Tremendous
I travelled from Italy to Tanzania with Makisala Safaris for a family adventure, and it exceeded all our expectations. We spent days tracking wildlife across the Serengeti, witnessing the dramatic Great Migration and spotting lions lounging under acacia trees, while evenings were spent sharing stories around the campfire under a sky full of stars. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and made every moment exciting for both adults and kids, and the personalized touches throughout the trip made it feel truly special. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that we’ll treasure forever!
