Tough hike, amazing experience!
4/5

My husband and I climbed Kilimanjaro for our honeymoon in January 2026 with KiliVikings! We chose the 7-day Rongai route. Overall we had a great experience. We booked a group tour, but it ended up being just the two of us and the crew! From the beginning, Charlie was very responsive (even though we arrived on Christmas Day and finished on New Year’s Eve). Our guides, Goodluck and Stephan, were awesome and helpful! They respected the mountain and checked in with us throughout the day during the hiking portion and while relaxing at camp to make sure our questions were answered! The porters, chef, guides, and the entire staff were incredible! We made it to Gilman’s point, which is not the peak but was close enough!

We went at the end of rainy season so it rained/snowed every day of our hike. The mornings were usually clear and it was amazing to see the mountain as we progressed! Charlie arranged a taxi for us to get to Arusha after the hike and helped with everything we asked!

A couple of things that could have gone better/I wish we had done differently:
-Kilivikings forgot to pack oxygen, which was said to be included in the tour. I got altitude sickness during the summit night and I probably needed it but we didn’t have any.
- I wish we had looked at the route success rates before choosing a route. We picked the Rongai route and it was beautiful!!! the forest was incredible! But i think a longer climb (like lemosho) would have been better for us to acclimate.
-We did not end up taking the acclimatization day and I wish we had. Our climb ended up being 6 days instead of 7 because the guide said we likely didn’t need the extra day. We were feeling mostly good until the summit night so not our guide’s fault!
- KiliVikings recommends a 10% tip, but we got the vibe from our porters and guides that that was not at all fair. We ended up paying about a 25% tip (which was extremely deserved but a little more than we anticipated spending).
- Nothing KiliVikings could have done about this but we found it extremely difficult to eat. (The food was delicious we simply couldn’t eat because of the altitude). We live at sea level and have never been so high up so we truly didn’t understand how the altitude could impact us and the biggest hurdle was our appetite. We slept fine and for the most part we acclimated until we started the climb to the summit.

Again, overall, it was challenging, incredible, and a truly unique experience! Thank you KiliVikings!

A Safari Experience You Can Trust
5/5

If you’re planning a safari in Tanzania and want an experience that is ethical, safe, and truly unforgettable, I cannot recommend Tanzania Memories and its founder, Richard Moshi, highly enough. If I could add more stars I would! Absolutely the best trip of my life so far.

I travelled through Tanzania in August 2022, and Richard was our guide throughout Tarangire, the Central and Northern Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara. The trip was extraordinary — not just because of the wildlife, but because of the way Richard guided us through it.

Richard has an exceptional ability to read the land, the animals, and the moment. He consistently spotted wildlife long before anyone else — lions hidden in kopjes, leopards draped over branches, cheetahs stalking in the grass, and even tiny creatures like dik-diks and hyraxes. His knowledge of animal behaviour meant we were always in the right place at the right time, whether it was watching a pride of 16 lions feeding on a Cape Buffalo, witnessing a lioness take down a gazelle, or experiencing the Wildebeest Migration at the Mara River with multiple dramatic crossings.

What sets Richard apart is his integrity. At the Mara River, where dozens of safari trucks surged forward the moment the first wildebeest stepped into the water, Richard refused to break park rules or cut others off. He navigated the chaos with calm professionalism, ensuring we had a front‑row view without compromising safety or ethics. His respect for wildlife and the environment is unwavering, and that respect is reflected in the values of Tanzania Memories.

But the moment that truly showed me who Richard is — not just as a guide, but as a person — happened far from the Serengeti. We stayed at The Original Maasai Lodge, a community‑run lodge near Mount Kilimanjaro. By sheer luck, we arrived on the first day of a once‑every‑14‑years Maasai ceremony — a rite of passage so rare that even many Maasai women had never witnessed it. Richard had never seen it either. Watching him experience this extraordinary cultural moment alongside us — asking questions, learning, smiling, and sharing in the awe — added a depth to our trip that I will never forget.

He wasn’t just our guide that day.
He was our companion in a moment of pure, unexpected magic.

Richard is also simply a wonderful person. He made us feel safe, welcomed, and cared for every single day. His kindness and humour added so much joy to the experience. We’ve stayed in touch ever since — a testament to the kind of relationships he builds with his guests.

If you are travelling from Canada (or anywhere in the world) and want a safari experience that is personal, meaningful, and guided by someone you can trust completely, book with Tanzania Memories and ask for Richard Moshi. He is the heart of the company, and he will give you a safari you will remember for the rest of your life.

Wonderful and unique experience
5/5

We absolutely loved our 6 day safari! Everything went so smoothly and the whole experience was really well and professionally organized. It was also very good value for money. We saw so many amazing places and of course the animals were the highlight of the trip. All the accommodations were cozy and the food was really good (always good options for vegetarians as well). A special thanks to our driver Bonny and Suzzy from the office! Your service was more than what we could have asked for :)

Best Safari experience in Tanzania
5/5

We had a five-day safari tour with Suricata Safaris, and it was the best decision we could have made. They are a very well-organized company, kind and flexible. They also took the time to inform us about everything on day zero, before the tour even started.

Our guide, Mellita, is extremely experienced and knows exactly where to find the animals. I had the feeling that he knows every single tree in the national parks. We were able to get very close to the animals, and he always found us the best spots for taking photos. He has extensive knowledge and told us a lot about the animals, their habits, and many interesting facts. He also knows a great deal about Maasai culture, and we even had the opportunity to visit a village.

The accommodations were amazing. The Suricata Boma Lodge is a true paradise, and in the mornings I enjoyed my coffee on the balcony while zebras were running around in the garden. At the Serengeti Bush Camp, we could hear the animals at night, and they have the best manager in the world—thank you, Steve.

The food was excellent, and the staff were very kind and welcoming, always doing their best to fulfill every wish.

Thank you, Suricata Safaris, for this unforgettable adventure.

An excellent safari experience with an extremely knowledgeable guide, kind staff everywhere, comfort
5/5

We did a 5-day safari during which we visited 4 national parks. We saw an incredible amount of wildlife and were lucky enough to see all members of the Big Five in the wild.
Communication was excellent, and everything ran smoothly from our arrival until the very end. We were always expected, picked up and transferred without any hassle.
We spent the first two nights in the company’s own lodge overlooking Lake Manyara – a truly luxurious place with beautiful rooms and a pool. Our night in the Serengeti National Park was unforgettable: listening to lions roaring at dawn from the comfort of our bed was simply magical.
A huge thank you to Mellita, our tour guide, who knows the national parks like the back of his hand – thanks to him, we were always at the best spots to photograph the animals. Special thanks as well to Steve, the manager of our Serengeti accommodation, who together with his team did everything to ensure our comfort.
