What a wonderful experience!
Me and two friends went on safari at the beginning of the year. The experience was wonderful. From the moment we were picked up at the airport until we returned. Lordi, our guide, explained everything to us wonderfully even in our native language (Spanish) and did his best to make sure we saw as many animals as possible. If I were to go back to Tanzania, I would definitely choose them again.

Face to face with Gorillas, Chimps & Lions in 5 days... My SECOND time with Big Apes Africa.
I went on the trip of a lifetime with Big Apes Africa 2 years ago. This year, I came back - and that says everything.
Over 5 days my girlfriend and I trekked into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and sat next to Gorillas, explored the vast, wild bush of Ishasha Sector to find tree-climbing Lions and Leopards, cruised across the Queen Elizabeth National Park to see 4 of the BIG FIVE, then trekked into Kibale forrest to go get to know some Chimp families.
Here is a rundown of how it all went, plus some key tips from me if you want to book and get the absolute best out of it.
TRIP PLANNING 🤔
After chatting with the team at Big Apes Africa about what we wanted to do (Gorillas & Chimps and game drives), they rightly suggested we do a 10-day trip to truly experience everything Uganda has to offer, but due to other commitments, we had to go with 5. That did not faze them at all, especially after I told them we wanted to go HARD on this trip - non-stop adventure, early mornings, late nights - we wanted to do as much as possible in those 5 days. They designed a trip that was not for the faint of heart - 5 days, 4 national parks and hundreds of wild animals including some we didn't even know we could see along the way. We were primed and ready to set out on a life-changing adventure.
THE TRIP 🦍
Rather than explain our day-by-day itinerary of what we did (because when you book your trip, you should be totally blown away too), I'll just say that every single day, something mind-blowingly unexpected happened. Whether it was being star-struck by the beauty and tranquillity of the accommodation nestled in the trees of Bwindi Forest, how close we got to a silverback gorilla, how beautiful the African savanna sunsets really are, how incredible the view was from our third hotel overlooking Queens Elizabeth National Park or how playful and funny the Chimps were, everything along the way, just like that time, left us feeling like we were getting astronomically more than we paid for.
TIPS FOR BOOKING A TRIP 🤫
I wont give too much away, as Peter and his team always have a few tricks up their sleeves to make your holiday the best it could ever be, but here's my top tips:
1. Don't be afraid to book a trip in the low season
The sky is clearer, so you can see further. The temperature is cooler, and the weather is more varied. The animals are less disturbed, and the parks are so much quieter - it feels more wild and less intrusive.
2. Take a proper camera
being in the presence of a Gorilla or Chimp Family is a truly life-altering feeling. I would suggest keeping your phone in your pocket and using a proper camera to feel more present in the moment, so you can put it down and just sit with them for a few moments.
3. Pack for all weather and if it rains, enjoy it!
There is something different about rain when you're in a rainforest. It's epic, powerful and makes the forest feel more vibrant in some ways. Pack and soft shell rain coat and waterproof boots.
4. If you go to Queen Elizabeth Park, ask the team if you can stay in Enganzi Lodge (or somewhere on that hill)
The best sunset I've ever seen. The most romantic room I've ever stayed in. Amazing.
MY NEXT TRIP... 🤩
There is still so much of Uganda that I want to explore with my loved ones. All-in-all, returning for a trip with Big Apes Africa was the best decision I could have made, and I will 100% be doing it again. I only wish that they did more Safaris in other African countries, because they are simply unmatched.

Great for Multiple Activities in Zimbabwe and Botswana
We reached out to African Fairytale Tours for one company to organise airport pick up, helicopter, Chobe daytrip and return airport transfer. Communication was fantastic and everything was seamless. Jonathan was fantastic and fun. Even included a complimentary walking tour of the falls. His prices are actually lower than booking direct with the helicopter company. We had a great time and thoroughly recommend this company.

Amazing Safari Experience with MoAfrika!
We did the 4-day Sekekama Tented Safari with MoAfrika this past weekend and it was absolutely incredible. Huge shoutout to Stanley and Lambs for two amazing days of safari — their knowledge, energy, and love for wildlife made every game drive unforgettable.
At the glamping site, Lihle took such great care of us. The tents were super comfortable and being able to fall asleep to the sounds of animals in the distance was surreal and so cool.
Everything from the food to the views to the atmosphere was just perfect. Can’t recommend this experience enough!

Highly recommend - 5 star experience
If I could give 100 stars, I absolutely would!
As a female solo traveler, planning a safari can feel a bit daunting—but thanks to Lucy from Axis African Safaris, my 5-day, 4-night safari adventure was seamless from the very beginning. Lucy was incredibly helpful and patient, answering all my 1000+ questions with promptness, warmth, and professionalism. Her support and planning made me feel completely at ease before I even set foot on the safari.
Now, let’s talk about Yasin, my guide for the entire excursion. Words truly fall short in capturing how phenomenal he was. From the moment the trip began, Yasin ensured I didn’t have to worry about a single thing—bathroom breaks, meals, water, and rest stops were all perfectly timed and handled without a hitch. His attention to detail and care made me feel safe and taken care of at every point.
But Yasin is so much more than a tour guide. His deep knowledge of wildlife, birds, plants, and even the terrain and landmarks made the experience both educational and magical. Because of his expertise and keen eye, we were able to witness and capture some truly once-in-a-lifetime animal encounters. I learned so much while also simply enjoying the incredible sights and sounds of nature.
Friendly, professional, and impressively knowledgeable—Yasin made this trip unforgettable. If you’re considering a safari, ask for Yasin. And Lucy. Trust me, they’re the dream team.
This wasn’t just a trip—it was a beautifully curated, deeply enriching, soul-touching experience. I’ll be recommending Axis to every solo traveler I know!

An Unforgettable 4-Day Climb Up Mount Meru
We just got back from climbing Mount Meru in Tanzania—4 days, 3 nights—with Memorable Vacation Africa, and honestly, it was unforgettable.
The crew—our guide, porter, and chef—were all absolute legends. Oscar (our guide) was incredibly knowledgeable entertained us with stories and insights about the mountain and its surroundings.
The food was way better than you'd expect on a mountain—hot meals, tasty, and always right when we needed the energy. We felt also very independent and the crew quickly adapted based on our energy levels.
Climbing Mount Meru was no joke—27 hours of hiking across 4 days. But what a feeling.
Summit day was the highlight.
We left at 1 AM under the stars, hiked 6 hours in the dark, and reached the top just in time for sunrise.
"Magical" doesn’t even begin to cover it.
Evance from the office made everything smooth—super responsive, kind, and helpful from start to finish. Gear was included, and we felt genuinely cared for the whole way.
If you’re even slightly considering it—go. One of the most incredible experiences of our lives.
